    After spending a lot of time with Quanta, it's become one of my favorite plug-ins not just for granular synthesis but for sound design and finding inspiration.
    Today you're gonna learn 7 of the best ways to use Quanta so that you can stop scratching your head in front of it and start using it to sound like Flume or whoever else is using granular synthesis these days.

    Thank you very much for this video. Nice walk through. Been wanting this VST for a long time and finally got it on Audio Damage's 40% off sale last night. I record my samples straight into Edison and then bring them into my playlist. This is exciting.

      Nice job on getting it on sale. Sales often make it possible for me to buy a plugin.

    Regarding playing Quanta as polyphonic instrument:
    First load a sample which has only one pitch at a time - for example a vocal chop
    and then use the OSC to tune the sample by playing a note and altering the pitch of the sample until you get unison. I recorded myself singing different vowels for example and made a choir patch out of it.

    • @ThisIsOnesto
      @ThisIsOnesto  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Thanks for the tips, I really want to give that a try next week.
      Do you find that quanta gives you more interesting textures with your method compared to using a polyphonic Sampler?

    • @can__top2
      @can__top2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThisIsOnesto Yeah definitely, I like the fluttery and glitchy texture polyphonic granular keys can give. Often times you have to tame them for example with a multiband transient shaper or layer them with other key sounds as you showed in your example but the exploration is often worth it. On the other Hand you could get away with using a granular FX like Output portal on key sounds to get similar results.

    • @ThisIsOnesto
      @ThisIsOnesto  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@can__top2 oh nice, even more good ideas. Good to know about the multiband transient shaper, I never would have figured that out.

    do the keys you play on the keyboard automatically sync to the right notes?

    • @ThisIsOnesto
      @ThisIsOnesto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really good question. They don't automatically sync, but you can set the key inside of Quanta so that it matches your keyboard. Of course this works best on one-shot notes.

    how do you tune things you've made in quanta?

    • @ThisIsOnesto
      @ThisIsOnesto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question, and it's one of those tricky things about Quanta.
      There's a couple things I usually do if it's a single note, that's easy. What I usually do is drop in my sample, and then tune it with the Tune knob so that the pitch matches and tracks with my Keyboard.
      However if I'm using a melody or chord progression in Quanta, I'm often using my ear. It is trickier but I find it to be worth it for the unique textures you get from it. One tip is that instead of playing my midi keyboard for different pitches, I'll just hold out the middle C on MIDI, and then I'll move the play head inside Quanta by click around the loop until I find a new "melody".
      Of course, that's just one way of doing it, but I find it to be a lot of fun that way

      @@ThisIsOnesto appreciate the reply, i've been using it for about a week now and really struggling to blend it well, i watched the entire video but nothing is clicking for meat the moment. i agree i like sampling full melodies as you get a more lush sound, i havent really tried single notes yet. i'll definitely try out what you've said :)
