I ship flat bill New Era hats in poly bags, 4 oz and rarely have issues. save on postage plus boxes outweigh what customers think receiving a hat in a bag. for boxes you will save move money buying on eBay than at U-Line or Staples.

Thanks. I need to buy smaller boxes and will use poly mailers for hats more often. I do overpack if the rate doesn’t change much mostly because I hate cutting down boxes.
Iv'e been getting some pretty good discounts as a Senior & Navy Veteran at some supply stores & thrift stores.
I was also able to get away with sending hats in a 6x6x6 as long as long as you angle the hat the right way.
Yeah I can get most hats in a 6x6x6 box just not the flat bills, they need that extra 2 in

I use 7x7x7 boxes but thts interesting. Calculated or flat rate? Maybe i missed it. We used to be able to get a shipping discount but for some reason, I’m not seeing it on them anymore.

There’s trending prices on eBay so if an item is trending at $40 free shipping, why would anyone buy yours at $40 plus shipping so you’d want to list at $40 free ship or like $32 plus $8 shipping. I find it easier to just do free shipping and build it in.

Great tips as usual. I had a bad habit of "over" packing. Can you do a video on shipping DVDs (disc only)? I have a large amount of movies and it would destroy my sales if I bought cases to ship them out. Thanks bro!!

I am looking at getting a thermal printer, sp410, I ship lots of items that ship via ebay standard envelope, in a # 10 basic envelope. Question is, how do i print the labels...they are not the 4"x6" size?
Just print them on a 4x6 label then fold it around the envelope

I do free shipping on most items. Either way you do it you should view it as a total price. There’s trending prices on eBay so if an item is trending at $40 free shipping, why would anyone buy yours at $40 plus shipping so you’d want to list at $40 free ship or like $32 plus $8 shipping. I find it easier to just do free shipping. Just make sure you know what things will cost to ship so you don’t get burned on your projections if you do this. The eBay shipping calculator is a great way to learn these rates. For hats it’s easy to estimate since they cost between $3.50-5 to ship

The 4 is too tight. It may fit unstructured hats but not flat bills
