I cried watching this. I have a 5 y.o non-verbal asd kid and we got our diagnosis March last year. Things will be hard, yes. Madami ka pang i-iiyak Mama but I swear it will all be worth it. They will learn slowly and differently than the other kids but they will get there. Yung mga pinag-ppray ko lang last year, nagagawa na ngayon ng anak ko and umiiyak ako everytime may accomplishment haha. I wouldn't change my son for the world. Elijah is not Elijah without his Autism. I hope that you will use your platform to educate more people about ASD and let more people know that our beautiful children are different but not less. Hugs Mama! ❤ Joo is lucky because he has an amazing support system ❤

Hello...my kid with asd is now 14 y/o. He used to be non-verbal..He eventually learned how to read and write and interact... Thank God na dahil sa consistent therapy at proper diet nagimprove naman.. THERE IS HOPE...

Pls use your platform for awareness on this condition. I think there are parents out there that might think that there current situation is unrelatable. But having you as an influencer discussing an important matter such as this one is very helpful. Dont lose hope!

Hi Anne, advise ko lang, please huwag kang mawawalan ng loob. It's a good thing that you started getting help for Joo early. It will all be good. Be his advocate always. I don't have any first hand experience in ASD. I never told you, that our son was born blind. Kakaibang challenges ang hInaharap ng children with special needs. The good thing is, there is help in the medical community and means to help the kids. Wag ka mawawalan ng loob...My 25 yr old son now has a Masters Degree, works for Rutgers University as a Web and Usability Specialist and soon to be a part time professor. Anything and everything is possible. Joo will thrive and do very well with your support and love. Let him do things for himself. That way he can figure things out on his own. He will be remarkable in his own time and in his own way. I am sending you good thoughts and best wishes. Be strong and stay positive :-) Winnie
Hello mama Anne!!! I'm an Occupational Therapy student po and I have a nephew with ASD and ADHD. Mas earlier po nalaman ni mommy niya and sabak agad sa therapy. Sobrang hindi po naging madali sa mommy niya and saamin. May times po na sobra po yung tantrums and and hindi rin po siya nakapagsalita agad. But as years go by sobrang nagimprove po siya, from behavior, speech and his occupations. Tiyaga lang po!! He is now 10 yearsold medyo introvert nga lang po pero sobrang lambing. He speaks to us po pero one sentence lang po ganun pero he is trying. Continue parin po ang therapy sessions niya. He is studying in a normal school with normal kids hindi ko po sinasabi na they are not normal but we know that they have extra needs that we should give. He's an honor student since pumasok siya sa school. Top 2 siya last school year. Mama Anne tiyaga, tiwala at pananalig lang po sa Diyos. Kaya po yan. Godbless po ❤️

I have son and as per doctor from makati med, to be considered adhd daw ung case ng anak ko. Di ko pa siya napapatherapy dahil sabi naman ng pedia niya, ok naman daw anak ko,dahil nakakatagal sa upuan.. Ung may adhd daw kc, hindi mapakali talga. Sa bahay, ganon kase siya, gusto laging busy, may kinakalikot, tapos sobra magwala.. Perro pansin ko, magaling amg memory niya.
Ilan taon na po baby nya sis?

My Brother was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia at a very young age we went to many doctors, speech pathologist, and speech therapist po iba iba po diagnosis sa kanya... it was all a learning process for all of us... He only learned how to speak at the age of 6 - 7 years old...ang dami po namin pinuntahan, nakita ko po ang struggles ng parents ko...But We believed and continued to love and support him.. his speech and actions continued to improve . Akala po namin he won't be able to speak and live a normal life...Pero eventually po he learned... My brother is now a 1st year highschool student, has many friends, has good grades in school, enjoys all sports, and still my very loving little brother...I pray for you and your family po..God Bless po. Everything will be alright ❤️.
I have cerebral palsy of dystonic type, really hard. Bullying here and there but this doesn't stop me from me finishimg a degree. Life is a challenge Ms. Anne. Be strong and be very supportive to Joo. God bless.

I know how it felt like. My son was diagnosed with ASD too when he was 2 years and 4 months. Sobrang sakit nung narinig ko mula sa DevPed yung diagnosis nya. Akala ko ready na ko akala ko hindi na ganun kasakit pero iba pa rin kapag diagnos na. Mas okay tlga na maaga nalaman kesa late. Early intervention. 2 years and 10 months na son ko so OT pa lang therapy nya kasi di namin ipagsabay ang speech. Sobrang laki ng gastos every week 2 times sya nag OT. Pero worth it naman kasi sobrang laki ng improvement nya. Ang dami ko narealized sa buhay.
Isa-isip nyo nlng mama anne na sa dami ng parents tayo ang napili Nya para arugain sila❤️
Naging mabuting tao ako dahil sa anak ko. Natuto akong magpasalamat sa kung anong meron ako.

Working as Behavioral Therapist, I handle kids with ASD at super sarap sa feeling na makitang hindi disability ang ASD. It's just a different ability.. they are unique in their own way. 🤗

Don’t give up hope; God is listening. Share ko lang: my younger niece was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia 7-8 years ago. She had daily therapy for 3 years and then we enrolled her in a progressive school where she had daily tutorials. All of us at home were very supportive of her, and we stuck to a certain diet for her. A fee weeks ago, she graduated as valedictorian from Grade 6 and is now on her way to high school in a traditional school. Malalagpasan nyo rin po ito.

Hi Ms. Anne, caught by the title of your vlog. I'm a preschool sped teacher and I know one of the hardest thing is when the doctor confirms the condition of your child. I'm glad that you acknowledge some of the doctor advises for it really helps a lot esp. po na nasa early intervention stage po kayo. Always remember po talagang sa simula po mahirap and soon po makikita niyo po yung changes esp. po kapag mas naintindihan niyo ang condition and abilidad ni Joo. :) Looking at Joo and some of his manifestations seems that he has the potential to development more than the other severe cases po.
