I really hope you upload some more awesome content! I love seeing more people trying to bring back the old charm instead of posh modern kitchens, or grey and white "farmhouse" everything! Your videos are honest, creative and you explain everything so well! I'm trying to diy my entire modern house as an old house isn't in the cards right now but I'm trying to archive and research all the different ways I can make everything look victorian. I'm always inspired when watching your videos!

This video was so much fun and I can see that you're all about the original and I absolutely LOVE that. I agree with you on everything! I can't wait to look at your other videos! My husband and I bought a 1930's house and the previous owners ripped the entire kitchen out and I have no idea what was originally there. This is a 900 sq ft home and the kitchen is super tiny, but I love it. I am grateful that I found your channel. I know your ideas will help me transform my kitchen back to it's glory....or almost lol

I've got some ideas for when I do mine (I don't yet have one of the vintage I want, but I will). See that big ol' kitchen sink with two "drainboards"? Those are actually the surfaces upon which you'd place your cutting board. One side for meat, one for vegetables. Those old timey people knew all about food borne pathogens, and cutting on those surfaces meant that you could sluice them with boiling water to sterilize them. With that butler's pantry, she really doesn't need all that cabinet space. I'd use my (beloved) Hoosier cabinet and a free-standing oak cupboard. A farm table and chairs, of course. Once you have your cutting surfaces and baking station, counter space becomes not only redundant, but it only serves to collect unnecessary kitsch. I'm a gardener; I cook a lot and I cook HARD. Most people place a higher premium on modern aesthetics than actual functionality. Know your style, and design accordingly.

I love this kitchen and the cabinets. I also love walk in pantries, every home should have one.

Girl, I luv your style AND I luv your kitchen. You obviously know the difference between renovating and restoring. Great idea for the dishwasher. This helped me sooo much! I’m working on a 1906 Craftsman in south GA that has very plain TALL cabinets. It already has the sink like yours. Yeah me! Keep the videos coming so I can get more ideas.

You have taught me so much! About to start building a new "turn-of-the-century" house and want it to look as authentic as possible (using matching salvaged doors/windows). Videos like this make all the difference. Please keep making them.

You rocked it! Inset cabinets are always the best looking whether you're designing a historic or contemporary kitchen.

Adrienne, "awesome" on the dishwashers and the cabinets. Looks like you got them stable on every axis on which they might shift. Also more than "you can't see the added wood," it seems that more importantly, it looks like it belongs.
How do the crevices beside the sink work out? For myself, I can see a lotta crap dropping down there.

Thanks! Stuff does fall down there, but I purposely made it big enough to wipe it out. I copied what I saw in a pic from an historic kitchen.

Love this! Currently researching what an 1850s kitchen would be like for a house I'm interested in. Subscribed on the strength of your logic working out the correct details & execution. And your cat.
Really dislike super modern - and Grey!" - kitchens foisted onto old houses.

We have a very similar kitchen here in Rocky Mount. I love what you've done to the sink - and I have the same size. Can you tell me who made the cabinets? It's so hard to find a good cabinet maker these days and I'd like to flatter you by copying it!

Your kitchen looks amazing ! Really turned out nice and love how you hid the DW. 😃
I have an antique porcelain sink that is similar to yours. Did you hang your sink on the wall ? .?
Mine butts up against my kitchen window like yours. I cant figure out how to hang the sink because there is nothing back there to hang it on. I mean its an issue now because its starting to cave in my wooden counter top

Thank you!! The brand is Fisher-Paykel. They are the only company to make them anymore. I did design the cabinets! But I gave the plans to a cabinet maker to build.

I can kick myself in the butt. My old kitchen had the same sink, b-board and tiny butler's pantry. I had every thing ripped out. I am returning to that look again. What frig brand did you use? I am involve with the color of the cabinets and b-boared. The rocked this superbly. Do you do on line business?

That paper towel holder needs to GO! 🙄 This kitchen would have had flour sack towels sewn together, three of them, and hung onto a rolling pin type holder on the wall.
