- My vlog from Ibiza in 2023, but are the nightclubs getting too overcrowded? Hear my thoughts on this video as well as some top tips if you want to visit!

Totally agree about DC10 on Monday night, Karl. Was there right at the start of June, the queue for the men's bogs alone was about 1/4 mile long (which is pretty unheard of), and both the house and techno rooms were so full it was nearly causing fights to break out, which isn't the Balearic spirit at all. Like another person mentioned, the sound system is also poor - muddy and lacking clarity. Went to Hi, Amnesia and DC-10, by far the biggest problem for me was the almost total absence of atmosphere in the clubs. Everyone was shuffling around on the spot, looking bored. No hands-in-the-air, no hugs-off-strangers, no euphoria on the dancefloor when a brilliant track drops. People are reluctant to talk about if for obvious reasons, but it's almost certainly to do with the pitiful quality of, umm, 'refreshments' on the island. If the disco biscuits don't work and people can't afford to pay for drinks, that's a potentially disastrous recipe.
The problem is because priviliege is closed. It would'nt been that crowded if priviliege were open

Having spent some wicked times on the party island through the 90s and early 2000s one can honestly say the bubble had burst years ago, for those that never witnessed what was then considered the wildest night on the planet , Manumission ! in a club (privilege)that resembled an aircraft hanger , serious , the décor and space was unbelievable, even had a pool , top class DJs playing out tunes from what is still considered the best dance era of all time. then, add in the performance on the night which never failed to raise an eyebrow , best time on the island was for me August , taking in Pete Tong & co at the Radio one weekend when Mambo and the strip was all sand and rocks , i where one could even catch your favourite DJs playing pre party nights , place looks all plastic and glass now , 🤣when it comes to numbers , one could honestly say the place was dominated by the Brits back in the 90s who of course gave great prominence to the dance culture and scene which gave rise to the birth of the super clubs and best promoters on the planet . Cream at Amnesia was one great example , obviously the word got out and the rest of the planet started to arrive , say no more happy days or what😍😍
i went 2009 2012 and it was still live at the big clubs. these kids seem too aware of cameras to proper let theirselves go and plenty of ego's. girls more interested in taking pics for insta than dancing and lads posturing with man bags round their shoulders trying to look tough. thats pretty much how it looks these days.
Early 2000s, those were the days, so good it's irreplaceable 🤩🥳🤩
Ibiza is a joke now, i know things are expensive these days but they take the absolute piss, i went in late 90s and it was amazing
Was at DC-10 last season for closing. Both Circoloco and Solid Grooves were ridiculously busy.
Greed has ruined that club. Huge changes needed immediately.

Omg .. I absolutely love your video.. finally someone spoke about the actual issue… I have had the fortune of clubbing in some of the worlds best places where we have had a really amazing experience and was planning to come to Ibiza for the 1st time but the way we are seeing these places are crowded and cramped we really don’t feel like going there. Specially not in July august… what is your take on the closing parties in Oct .. is it as crowded as now
Closing parties are some of the most crowded. Since the pandemic, there doesn’t seem to be a ‘quiet’ month when the Ibiza clubs are open. I always used to go in June for the nights being slightly quieter but busy enough and now even June is crazy busy. Don’t get me wrong I do like the clubs there but it’s let down by the volumes of people. I went in August once….horrendous!
Most overrated and overcrowded clubs in the world.
Hï was ridiculously oversold when I went to HOLO. Me and my mates went after an hour. There were crushes in the main room when Prydz came on. I've heard it was the same for Tale of Us and Martinez Brothers too.
Yep this seems to be a common issue with the clubs there and it’s such a shame 😔

For me doesn't really matter where you stay. The disco bus is easy as getting between the major clubs and cheap as well. I'd rather stay in San An than playa den bossa. And I'd avoid Hi and even ushaia they're rammed and overrated. Amnesia is for me the best club in ibiza. Pacha rammed. Awful venue
Fair one. All venues seem to be rammed this year!
Club chinois - enough room to dance, franky wah party with good melodic techno
Hi ibiza - best club in ibiza, ultra crowded, afterlife on thursdays and holo on mondays are the parties there
Cova santa - great outdoor venue, very crowded for dancing, progressive house nights available
Ushuaia - one of the best venues on ibiza, enough room to dance, ants party
O beach - this place not recommended, drunk britons overload, no room to dance without vip, really terrible disco house music everyday of the week
Ibiza Rocks - like O Beach but even worse, terrible music all days of the week, terrible pink pool club decor, room to dance is available though if you can handle their "music".
Eden - a nice 90s underground feel club, some decent music nights, enough room to dance
Es Paradis - no special djs, not recommended unless for water party
Akasha - havent been yet )
Nikki Beach - havent been yet
Playa soleil - refurbished bora bora - daytime dropby spot ).
Pacha - good club and music nights but super crowded, hard to move
DC10 - my least favorite spot to party on ibiza, ultra crowded sardine can in a big warehouse, cant even move, usuallyl monotone droning music.
Sunset Ahsram - great dj bar at cala comte, enough room to groove
Amnesia - enough room to dance except elrow, club feels outdated and lacking vibe, music nights are hit and miss. I dont recommend this club if short on time
Lio Ibiza - havent been
Hard Rock - havent been
Swag Ibiza - havent been
Blue Marlin - havent been
Cafe mambo - most popular preparty spot, enough room to dance, saturdays they often have claptone, recommended.
Coto/STK Ibiza/Salvaje/Can Costa - dinner disco shows and live music recommended.
Privilege - closed for 2023
In short i would not recommend: DC10, Ibiza Rocks, O Beach, Amnesia, Es Paradis )))
This is spot on.
Stay in playa de embossa and pay mad prices for hotels and everything, save on taxis, or stay in San An save on everything else and pay mad prices for taxis, either way your fucked, makes no difference, San An all.the way
Have you been recently? Hotels are coming out very similar in both resorts now.
San An and De Bossa are both party cesspools 😂. San An has an even worse crowd of the two as well 😂. Even though if i had to choose between san an and de bossa i would go for san an considering the price. De Bossa sucks AND expensive. At least San An is reasonably priced. BUT for sure i would recommend to rent a car and stay away from these 2 areas. I stayed in both debossa and san an but much prefer to stay in Santa Eularia - much more relaxing and upscale vibes and better restaurants than the other two and only short drive to everywhere.
Been there end of May for Amnesia opening. My view is the same every club was overcrowded. But DC10 was .... no words for it, again on Circoloco it was impossible to go inside the club. Going in is like a fight , no way to dance so we stay 1 hour in a garden and leave. Pacha Music on opening was great but we was lucky to find place where you can have a drink and dance :D July and August probably the only way to enjoy will be on a VIP table.

I was out there at the same time as you and did most of the same parties actually. You’re right about the amount of people in Pacha, it was pretty ridiculous but still an incredible night. You can’t beat Pacha imo
I do love the venue for sure. Easily one of the best, was just too busy for my liking. We must like similar music haha
Dc 10 overfill the club massively agreed , it ruins the night ..My advise is go in the day and leave about midnight..Pacha , it’s not because it’s Friday it’s the djs of the moment fill the clubs a lot more ..Ibiza in July is fine seriously..Just stay away from massive headline djs in smaller clubs because they attract a lot of day trippers to that don’t dance .
Yeah I was thinking this…for circoloco next time, doing an early evening and leaving before it gets silly. Pacha I have always experienced overcrowding regardless of the night from all the times I have been however that particular Friday I went was insane! Thanks for watching
@@djkarlthomas Like you say pacha a small club but cocoon at pacha and John digweeds night at pacha that was on Fridays where just right busy ..or leave around 4am , there seems to be a big crowd at pacha that come in for the last two hours ..workers I guess

Great question . The answer is yes. I went to 2 major clubs last year and there was no room to dance . I like a crowd but I like to boogie as well
Cool video 😎, I've recently bought Serato and and the DDJ-REV 7. I've bought some wedding music off of Beatsupreme. A lot of it goes out of time with itself, maybe because they're old tracks? Basically its made it impossible for me to mix, is there a way around this problem? Thanks 👍

Ah thank you for the kind words! No I have never asked, a lot of the DJs on the lineups there are big big names. There are the little bars and that but they don’t really interest me haha
Every big club in Ibiza is over sold, unless you got back stage passes it isn’t even worth it if you like to boogie and vibe
never, never stay in san antonio, you have 23 police controls every night in every roundabout. >
There is a disco bus from San Antonio which costs €5 for a return which goes straight to playa den bossa and outside Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza. Just take a photo just in case, but will save you alot of money. Last bus leaves playa den bossa at 07:15am but i would recommend leaving a bit earlier to avoid the rush of people out of Hï Ibiza. San Antonio all the way because if this reason 👍
Very good point however….the queues for these busses was insane this year and this was up to 2 hours before the clubs shut. Should have got some footage haha! Thank you for watching
Was there last week RIP IBIZA all wannabes and love island bellends….and the music is dead long gone are the days of melodic beats to big build ups to going off your nut ☹️☹️☹️
tellin ya, i seen them starting to creep in last time i went 2012 but they tended to stick to san antonio strip, with the opening of that ocean beach n what not it must of got even worse. as you say vibe changed from pill head ravers to love island idiots, wannabe roadmen and instagram divas
Ibiza is simply gorgeous as an island isn't it.. I've also visited the island a few times and my god the prices aren't coming down are they 😅 Amnesia was my fav just due to my love of Kevin and Perry and the history of it, Hi the old space is truly incredible too! In terms of how busy it is, surely they should be policing that better for terms of safety? I know its all about getting as many people in as possible for some of these big clubs/promoters but like you mention if an accident or emergency is to occur it would be chaos.. Keep up the quality content mate! 👍

I have just come back from long weekend in Ibiza for the first time. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to get back. I do have to agree with your point about how crowded clubs can be. We went to Hi to see purple disco machine (who was amazing) and Fisher and although it was a brilliant night, I spent most the night being bounced around between people not really being able to let go and enjoy the music. I also agree with what you said in the back of my mind, there was always the thought is could go horribly wrong which would be a disaster. That being said it is still an amazing island and the clubs are on another level.

Hi Karl, we are going at the end of Sept for 7 nights staying at the Hard Rock which clubs do you recommend want to do 3 main nights only.
Oh nice! Hard rock is a great hotel. Be sure to check out the rooftop bar on your hotel! Depending on what music you like I would definitely say check out Hi at some point. It’s pricey but it truly is an unreal venue and only a 5 min walk from your hotel. If you like outdoor events Ushuaia is right across the road too. Other indoor venues I love are Pacha and Amnesia however pacha is usually very very busy.
and also fyi this whole taxi fayre thing..... you can just get the bus from ibiza town direct to san antoni for like 1 or 2 euros and in summer it runs 24 hours
I am aware of the busses however after the clubs shut, they were packed and there was a queue down the street so couldn’t get on. Thank you for watching 🙂
I came in 2019 and last year, ive only been to ushuaia eden and amnesia but ive always found a little spot to party without being too enclosed but i can imagine hi gets silly busy ive seen people say its a fire risk

The whole island is too crowded, way too corporate and brutally expensive. Head to the hills.

Amnesia was far too crowded when i went in September. I went to elrow and while it was a fantastic night it was as you said dangerous and i felt like i was going to pass out been in the middle of the dancefloor especially when the performares where in the middle of the dancefloor too and DC10 while not as bad as amnesia was too packed as well ended up dancing in the smoking area and in the doorways to not be crammed and be able to breathe. Pacha on the other hand was the best night i had in ibiza although Hi was a very good night too went to ants before that so great day and night.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that experienced how crazy busy some of these venues are! We must have been lucky with Elrow as whilst busy it wasn’t unbearable.
Hate squeezing into the dance floor…at 6’4 and 240lbs I’m conscious I am ruining the view for the two poor girls I’m stood infront of🤦♂️
I am the same, I’m just conscious of standing on people’s feet or knocking into people!! It’s not fun!!
@@djkarlthomas is there a club etiquette of moving around a packed club. Also it’s always the small pretty girls that just push and barge through whilst the guys are all, “sorry mate, cheers, thanks”.

Depends what type of music you prefer! Glitterbox is disco and vocal house music, black coffee is known for more an underground house sound and progressive
Last year and this year have been ridiculous. I tend to come over 6 or 7 times a season. I’m starting to look elsewhere, it’s no fun.
It’s certainly way way busier since the world has opened up again!!

A lot of the clubs will not be open in march unfortunately. The opening parties tend to start in May.

we did hi for fisher on wednesday in july , we left around 3 as they let more and more people in to the point where the fire doors at the back were opened to allow more people in. coundnt dance at all shoulder to shoulder . you should of visited cova santa !!! wow !!!

Was there a few weeks ago. DC10 on Monday was a joke. Left after a few hours as it was impossible to get in either room. The sound system in both rooms was also horrible. Last went there in 2003 and the club was incredible. The owners have fucked it up big time. We went to Hi Ibiza twice. That club is simply amazing. The L-Acoustic sound systems in both rooms are mind bending. But the club also has FOH engineers. Also went Pikes twice, still the best vibe on Ibiza and the Void sound system in the room is stunning.
Yeah honestly my Monday experience of DC10 was the same! You are a man that knows your sound systems haha! I actually have never made my way to pikes before! On the bucket list though
@@djkarlthomas pikes is such a cool venue. I spent two summer seasons in Ibiza, 95 & 97 and pikes still has that 90s vibe about it. Drinks are less of a rip off and it’s free to get in! Win win!

I feel the same way. In June I was at Pacha for Robin Schultz and Hi for Fisher. Got so crowded that I went to the back of the room and eventually left early. Glitterbox at Hi had a perfect feel and crowd.
Completely agree- glitterbox was busy but the perfect level of busy for atmosphere and dancing space
