I started collecting Tolkien because of this channel, and I’m still here for the awesome Tolkien content. I just bought this deluxe edition because of you as well haha
I ordered it but was extremely disappointed the book covers don't follow the 'other trilogy' books and have a cheap paper finish on colored part you find under the dust jackets of most budget books, it cheapened the feel of the book tremendously.
I really like the design of this book and the neat golden print on the cover! Very curious: do you read the deluxe editions, or do you just display them and go to the paperback editions for reading? I usually prefer to read the paperbacks for not to damage the deluxe editions, but it's very tempting to read the fancy ones... 😄
Joining in on this discussion … I also occasionally read the deluxe editions but prefer the paperbacks (even practically, they’re much better suited). Deluxe editions are great for collecting though 🙂

I want to say that books are meant to be read... that said, I've only read my first edition Silmarillion once, otherwise I go with the paperback.
Yes, I read them, but mostly in paperback😁
Same, I read the Hobbit in deluxe edition, the other ones in paperback.
