“I’ve never dedicated a significant amount of time trying to improve body composition and really put on serious muscle mass” - Will Ratelle Absolutely amazing quote given what you look like.
I have a humble suggestions for Hoss Project 2.0, it would be nice if you recorded an example training video for every day of the program, you can just make it unlisted so that only people who purchased the program can access the video.
Love how your training philosophy blends multiple aspects of fitness (plyometrics, strength, etc) - something I’m looking to balance after my athletic career ended
Don’t use the Landmine much myself, but use it with clients a ton. Viking Press attachment is great, SLDL variations are killer because of the stability help you get so you can overload them a bit. Those are really the only two ways I use them that I think are truly valuable. But as a novel tool it’s fun for people, can get them MOVING explosively even though the stimulus may be low, but for gen pop adult populations can definitely make a case where they don’t need a huge stimulus to be effective when doing let’s say a Landmine split jerk. Easy way to know what weight you’re doing on a Landmine? Just count the bar as 45 and add the weight added as you normally would - because it doesn’t matter if it’s not actually that weight. It’s just consistent measurement to use to track progress over time, who cares if it’s not actually 135.
Question Will : Could I program oly lifts into raw strength days or would my CNS fatigue before I get to strength building portion of a workout. For example grouping snatch variations with Back Sq / Bench Days with Dropset weighted pullups or cleans/jerks with Front squat/ OHP days with BB hypertrophy giant sets.
Just got my nordic side kicked ordered. what a life saver. I was wondering what your thoughts of dynamic effort with a fast eccentric but then pause on a box? Most conjugate guys say that box squats/pause bench is better for Dynamic effort. Is there anything to it or is it just voo doo?
Do you have a video where you went over why 0.4 m/s is what you want to shoot for? I remember hearing another coach mention peak power output was around 0.9
Hey Will, I noticed that during some of your lifts you generate a lot of tension in your head/face/cheeks. Starting Strength recommends trying to keep the pressure against a closed glottis and not in the face to avoid getting light headed, what are your thoughts on this?
I am looking for a breakdown of what is in the HOSS Project. The website is pretty general, I saw Allan Thrall mention it in a training vlog was intruiged. Any such resource out there?
How important do you think exercise selection in overall athletic development? For example, do you really think it matters if you rdl vs. deadlift, low bar vs. high bar etc.?
so HOSS 2 is 16 weeks? Is that a choice based off the program being more power building and why so. What is the frequency and phase lengths? Does it go towards a peak
He’s addressed this indirectly in another video. If you’re already doing heavy deads, the upper body is already getting a decent pulling stimulus, hence why any additional pulling would be less frequent or at lower volumes.
Will, have you stopped doing jerks lately? And do you ever perform push presses?
Hey Alan!
Hey Alan, please convince Will to compete in a Strongman competition. 😎

I am very excited for the coming months on HOSS Concurrent!
Can't wait for HOSS project 2.0! The first one worked wonders for me. How similar will they be in terms of exercise selection and progression?
I didn’t think Will could get more jacked and strong tf
Hell yeah

Who would you recommend HP 2.0 for?! Could combat athletes benefit from running it?! As always, you're an inspiration, brother!

Love me crash pads

Nice home gym.
What in your barbell collection. Which are different kinds of barbells do you use?

Message me on IG and I can answer questions you have.

How come you don’t program upper body pulls that much? Seems like a thing I see across most S&C guys. Just not worthwhile?

What barbell are you using?
4:45 first lowering body fat, *then* packing on muscle? Why exactly? Maybe to stay disciplined and prevent a dirty bulk of muscle, fat and excuses...
I bought The Hoss Project. Does that mean I will have access to Hoss 2.0?
Yeah anyone who has purchased the original Hoss Project will have a chance to purchase Hoss Project 2 for a significant discount.
Congrats on the Natty with NDSU!!!
Wondering how your knees feel with all the explosive sprints and jumps you do?
