Can I calculate smaple size by finding prevalance from previous 6 months data of our hospital and estimating that if 300 patients are here for molecular testing and 70 of them were positive for gene fusion of my interest, then how many patients will be there in the next 6 months?
Can I calculate my prevalance this way??

Sir My reference study is " frequency of plantar fasciitis among teachers" whereas I am doing research on "frequency of plantar fasciitis among pregnant women"
So, Can I take my sample size from my reference study? Because there is only population difference between my own study and reference study
So can I take the sample size from my reference study which is 150?

Hi Dr Umar. My study is about the frequency of Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction among Heart failure patients, and i am doing this study in my Hospital in Peshawar. So my target population is heart failure patients in peshawar who are presenting to my hospital. But unfortunatley, the prevalence of heart failure in Pakistan is not well known. How should i calculate my sample size then?

If you're unable to find National study you can take your results from any international study
