Question: Once the Acetone evaporates off, and the slurry hardens, what are the characteristics of of the ABS? I'm thinking casted part, for instance. Is it strong? Does it become brittle? Can it be joined to another part using MEK? Any ecperience or guesses?

My typical use of the slurry is as a filler. This doesn't mean a skim coat of body filler won't be necessary as small pits or air pockets in the ABS filler may appear. I've never used it to cast parts or to join two pieces of ABS together, though it probably could be used for this. The strength seems to be similar to the original materail. For joining pieces I use a solvent used for plumbing as this is what these adhesives are made for and work very well. Once the solvent has evaporated the slurry seems to retain it's original characteristics so I've not had any paraticuular problem with cracking or brittleness. I've not used MEK with ABS, always acetone so I can't really comment on that. I keep acetone around so it's convienient, I don't normally use MEK for my projects.
