They only spec it for 4km. But with a directional antenna like the VAS Cyclops and crossfire for control, then you can do a lot more. I believe your gonna have problems past 10km. I think my longest was 8km but it's rare that I go over 4km. The limiting factor is battery and if you actually want to film something then your gonna do some areal's and spend time somewhere. I often fly a total of 10-20km but not more then 4km in range from where I stand, Its all about positioning, even if I have to hike up a mountain. Like I didn't have a choice for this flight th-cam.com/video/WvJr_lluKZQ/w-d-xo.html and I had to transverse the entire lake. But on this th-cam.com/video/JXgfCN10LX8/w-d-xo.html I was standing in the middle.
Hi, loved your videos while I´m searching on my next quad. I fancy long range cinematic and so far your rig sounds like a winner. Question though... could I just use the stock DJI transmitter and receiver ? or it's a must to use Crossfire if I want to surf mountains on a 1-2 km range ?
Awsome, welcome to 7" :) Well analogue has more range If you get good gear. But if your not going longer then 10km then your fine. Just get good antennas. As I've said many times I feel a lot safer flying with the high quality video then I ever did on any analogue.
I'm reading about 7" that are easy subject to vibrations. Do you experience that problem with your Iflight ? Since I'm still not decided in 6" or 7". For sure I will not fly acro but cinematic and the autonomy who are giving Li-Ion. I can see that your video are really still and wobble free.
They are harder to tune for sure. Make sure your choosing a frame with thick arms and use quality props. I've seen and tried a lot of new props that are designed for 5" and just scaled up. They don't work so good because they have problems carrying the heavy load. I would use carbon or poly carbonate props if i found some, but i can only find 8" and 10". Then again I could just upscale my next quad to 10" because of how i fly there is no reason to use 7" unless i need quicker reaction time on movement. Also check out "Reelsteady GO" it fixes most of the instability in the picture.
I have never reached any limit but theoretically the DJI FPV video link shuts down at 10km due to packets timing out. There are talks about DJI changing this. Usually its the battery that limits the range on quads, longest I've gone is 7km but the mountains i fly at are 1-2km tall. So i spend a lot of energy reaching the top. I would use another platform if i needed to go longer, like a wing or large plane.
Loving your last video, less the music on this video. Again beautiful landscapes. I love Norway ! Your videos are really motivating me to invest in new material. I was flying a Discovery pro few years ago, check my page, I have some exotic videos since I'm living in Central Africa.
The winter-summer-switching was fantastic! Great video!
Thank you :)
Beautiful 💯⚡ excellent flying super sweet 👍
Thanx :)
@@MountainSurfer 👌⚡
Fabulous! I've really been enjoying your videos. What I wouldn't give to have somewhere like you have to fly!
I am glad you like them, Norwegian topography is something else :)
Set bære å glise, steikje bra!
Takk takk :)
An absolute stunning video complimented with an amazing song .. since you are using DJI system.. can you reach long distances with it ? Around 6km ?

@@MountainSurfer thank you for the clarification..on you quad , which antenna did you use ?

I don't have a DJI Remote to test with but the AIR unit is listed in FCC area with
That was sick
Fantastic flying, can I ask, is this Arco mode ?
This is acro mode yes. Angle or Horizon mode would not give the control I need.
Nice vid 👌.
Share your antenna setup
Thank you, I just use the VAS Cyclops V1 on my goggles
Awesome!!!
How you lost the drone?
No RTH ?
I have lost two 7" in the mountains yea. There is a RTH function in Betaflight but sometimes things just go wrong :)
Dude what location is this, breathtaking. Beautiful flight btw, I am sure you must have had a great time flying here
Straumgjerde, Sykkylven, Norway
It was a lot of fun yes :)
How’s the range of the dji system compared to analog? I just found your channel but am already in the process of building almost the exact same setup.

Var jo kjempe fint landskap du får vist fram her :)
Ja nydelig plass, traff på kjekke folk også :)
@@MountainSurfer det gjør det litt gøyere å reise rundt å fly det :)

@@MountainSurfer Yes I was using carbon Graupner E-Prop 9" on my Discovery because having vibrations with other props
@@MountainSurfer Would you help me to tune my quad if I invest in the same frame model and copy/paste motors, FC, blades same like yours ? :-)
@@birdsviewburundi842 I'am not done yet with my tune but ill gladly share it when i am more happy with it.

I have a discovery with naze fc hanging on my wall :) First deadcat quad i had flew great :)
Fått deg ny 7 inch?

99 inscritos + 1 = 100 ;)
Beautiful footage! Just wondering, when you fly the drone, where are you? Up in the mountains or down in the small town?
Ty, I am standing where I zoom inn at 3:32
I need line of sight to fly, sometimes I need to hike up and sometimes I can fly from a good vantage point.
