Caldwell School District meeting ends abruptly after chaotic scene

- Proposed policy 3281, focused on gender identity and sexual orientation, brought hundreds of people out to the Caldwell School District Board meeting Monday night.
This is not an accurate depiction of what happened at the school board meeting. Parents have the right to show up in protest policies like this, and to have a voice in their child's education. The problem isn't with the angry parents, the problems with the school board members who don't care for on listen to what these angry parents are trying to say. They, the school board members, think they are fully in charge of what kind of education the kids get. I honestly wish more parents would do what I did, and simply pull your kids out of the school system. We have got to stop looking at public education as free daycare and start taking back our responsibility to provide a proper Civic and moral education to our kids. Clearly, the state and federal government are incapable of doing that, and now they are working in direct opposition to parents wishes. Those who say kids don't care about this stuff clearly don't understand what being a kid is all about they don't have the care, and they don't have the perspective and the experience to know what these policies ultimately mean for them and the kids they may eventually have one day. Of course they don't care. They don't care because they don't understand the ramifications.
At this point it is not a question of capability, but intent. These people revel in their mandate to indoctrinate.
Make schools groomer-free again.
For inspiration on how to handle this, look up Pennsbury School District settlement. It goes along the same lines. The board members do not get to dictate what people say and how they want to say it.
so , i see your point and believe me i understand your concerns. i attended the meeting myself , but then was kicked out because they ran out of room and so i watched the livestream instead. the board wanted to listen. they set very specific and clear boundaries, and on multiple occasions the crowd did not listen and continue to applaud , make noise , threaten , etc. take your kids out of school if you want to teach them what you want , but you can’t get mad at an entire school district with thousands of students that dont cater to you. you aren’t the only parent and family. i’ve always been taught to be kind to others , and what was demonstrated at the meeting was not kind behavior. my morals mean being accepting and kind to others , especially those in the lgbtq+ community. we have different morals , and it is the boards job to listen to both of us and find some middle ground. if you don’t like it , leave.

Their agenda is to transform our school system into a Christian-based institution that indoctrinates kids to be Christian conservatives who believe that everyone should fit into a box of being a cisgender male or female, and anyone who is outside of those two identities is a weirdo who should be shunned or forced to act "normal" by sending them to conversion therapy. It is their evil conservative Christian agenda that they are trying to force onto us.
The people have spoken. No peace, until the board listens to the people. A full recall of this activist board is warranted.

But I can point out that the hatred and vilification of a minority is directly analogous to the civil rights movement. But there is a larger and larger push today that the 1960s civil rights movement was a bad thing.
"Not respecting the order of the school board meeting" I.E. the people were criticizing their leadership and the leadership wasn't having any of it. They won't hold those seats for very long when they continue to silence those that put them there.
Recall them all. If they do not want to do their jobs by listening to opposing view points then they should not be part of the board.
There was no 'chaos' until the meeting was prematurely adjourned.

From 6:40 to 9:58 in the video, the KTVB host interviewed the school board chairperson... or, rather, he gave her a platform from which to lay out her position and opinions, without a single hard question... I'm surprised he didn't just go ahead and ask what was her favorite flavor of ice cream.

The media's job is to report the news aka the meeting, in an unbiased manner. THAT is their actual JOB. Educate yourself.
This is such a dishonest report. You should be ashamed of yourselves. He was quoting the water them, and explaining what they were violating if they proceeded with this policy, and they immediately tried to shut him down as soon as he criticized them. Furthermore, they said that parents didn’t have the right to speak, and explain to them how they were violating the peoples first amendment rights.
Parents didn’t get aggressive until they were shut down in the school board meeting was dismissed early after the school, but refused to hear them. The school board has a responsibility to hear from the parents in the community. You let that school board member claim unchallenged that those people are not from the district. However, that state senator is both a parent and a representative in that area.

To the congressman, next meeting bring the local sheriff in with you. Have the sheriff inform them on the local laws governing the results of these kinds of actions. If the board is fostering an atmosphere of child sex acts covered by the premise of gender dysphoria how will the law hold them accountable for this lewd exposure of minors with other minors?

Restrooms and locker rooms are based on sex not gender view. If you want to address those with gender dysphoria then create a separate place for them still separated by actual sex at birth. Anything else is sex trafficking of minor children.

I live nowhere near this school district(1600 miles) but I did watch a video of the actual meeting and this report is further away from a 'news' report then I am from the school district.
Travis Manning is a horrible teacher. I watched the entire school board meeting and this guy is not telling the truth.

That is a quick way to set up a First Amendment lawsuit. The school board does not get to dictate how and what people say. Pennsbury school district just paid $300,000 on a settlement after they realized they were going to lose in a federal court. He was trying to thwart the Lao UPitt to the community and the board just went into hyperdrive.

It wasn't "canceled after a few warnings" it was shut down when parents were threatened to have their free speech shut down and the school board president didn't like that people weren't obeying her orders.
The People of the state need to bring civil litigation against every one of those board members.

It really only escalated with the senator when the lady got offended that he told her to listen. How rude it was of her to interrupt what the senator was saying and practically ignore him in that moment. She talks about setting an example for the children... what a snake.

The issue was whether boys who "identify as female" should be allowed in girls' locker rooms. Parents were there to protect their daughters' privacy.

It's the chairman's responsiblity to not only run the meeting, but to also to maintain control of the meeting. Instead of adjourning and running away, you should have taken command of the situation.

You said it… Title IX states it’s against the law to “discriminate based on sex.” There are only 2 biological sexes. Are they really discriminating by not allowing biological boys (They have a penis, in case you’re confused), into the biological girl’s (They have a vagina) bathroom and locker rooms?

Not communicating respectfully? I watched, on a different TH-cam channel, the senator (I think he was) telling the board which laws they had broken, before going onto his concerns. He was being reasonable, but the board wanted to shut him down! What happened to free speech? I'm not in the US, but I'm guessing the First Amendment is about free speech? What happened to that?
I'm in the UK and I home educated my children from 2000-2014, using American books (they were Christian - ABeka and ACE) because at the time home education wasn't too popular here. I preferred ABeka! You guys have a lot more resources for home schooling so I'd recommend any parent who is able to do it, to home educate! Don't let these degenerates take hold of your children!

Biology does not change because of someone's state of mind or opinion of themselves. As a 46-year-old Hispanic Male, I can't change any of those biological traits. It would be a lie if I put in a legal government document that I identify as a 21-year-old white female. I am not 21, I am not white and I am not a female. If I was killed in a car accident and they couldn't identify specifically who I am because my body is damaged & I had not identification. I would be noted as a deceased 40-50-year-old, Hispanic and male. Not as a 40-50-year-old, Hispanic and possibly identifies as male or female.
Time to dox the school board. That meeting was orderly until the school board got involved trying to silence the recognized speaker.
If that was my district I'd be showing up at the school board members homes and places of business to say hi, and to voice my concerns as a citizen.
