So in the manga (and omake, which is what the last trippy sequence is based on) there is a little extra narration explaining Inukawa’s predicament. Apparently when Inukawa said to the aliens “I mean, I guess we’re all friends now anyway” while pointing back and forth between himself and the aliens, the aliens misinterpreted that as a request from Inukawa to immigrate to the aliens’ home-world. So the aliens taking Inukawa was in fact a genuine misunderstanding. And the reason why Inukawa had the big sparkly eyes at the end is that was how he figured out how to communicate with the aliens (making himself look all kawaii-moe). And the amount of time Inukawa was gone from Earth was stated to be 10 days in the manga/omake.

Anyone else think this was one of the most genius comedic episodes ever. Had a tension like i never new if things were gonna get weird, very unsettling, completely relaxing at times it was the full range of emotions as well as just fucking stupidly hilarious.
It's also pretty consistent with Mob's mood overall. Again and again in each story arc we were shown that things could've gone horrible wrong, but they didn't simply because everyone happens to be better than we assumed.
This is one of those episodes that is more enjoyable when you adjust expectations hahaha One of the best slice of life episodes ever, Kobayashi's dragon maid level 9:17 Inukawa should be more careful with his hand gestures, I can see how an alien speaking other language could get that as "hey, I could join you" hahaha

Is it just me or is the whole arc just an analogy to taking lsd with some friends at a magical spot in nature. That one friend who goes really really deep and ends up having a crazy lifechanging experience just to forget it at the end of the trip. Everyone having a blast and communicating with aliens. Seems like an average new years lsd trip with good friends..
so the reason they have big ahh eyes is because they communicate through eye contact so having big eyes helped in 2 way communication and thats why the dude's eyes were so big at the end. he adapted to the aliens
