Can I just say, as a fellow soaper, it made my heart so, so happy when you included that little snippet of last night's video. I had that happen the other day with a batch I was really excited about - literally 2 short bursts with the stick blender on low and I had soap on a stick :( it makes me feel so much better to know I'm not alone

Which fragrance oil was it, out of curiosity? New to soap making and trying really hard to avoid ones that sites say accelerate but they are not always accurate and I think I'll probably cry when I get one that thickens like that. It feels inevitable but I'm hoping to postpone it as long as possible 😂
@@slayerceeceegaming mine wasn't even due to a fragrance oil, that's the frustrating part! It was a beer soap, which I have made dozens of times, but this was a new beer and even though I boiled it and let it go flat, as soon as I mixed it into the room temperature oils it seized :( tried again later with half water and half beer, it still accelerated like crazy but at least it was workable
I've avoided this myself so far...but I have a fragrance I REALLY want to use that does JUST this...I am worried. :(
@@nvdirtfreakful I didn't even realize beer in soap was a thing :O I'm so intrigued! I can imagine how frustrating that had to be. Sometimes it's just luck of the draw I think. Hopefully others have went better after that mishap!

Pro tip: Brazilians (where the fruit comes from) don’t usually eat it quite like that. You you should get yourself some powdered milk (sounds weird but it’s delish), honey, granola and paçoca to add to it with your fruit. ;)
That's not the "right way" of eating it either. In the north (where it's traditionally from) people eat it with popped tapioca or fried fish. Also putting guarana syrup in it is a travesty.
there is no right way of food if it is edible and tasty you made it the "right way". Ps this is coming from someone who has never had any acai i just cook and bake. Have a nice day 😀
@@elcat2577 it is a culturally significant food from Brazil's indigenous people, so, yeah, there is the traditional way of eating it :) I only mentioned it because even a lot of people from Brazil don't know the traditional way. Anyway.
YC traditional and "the right way" add two different things you should have said traditional instead of "the right way" I wouldn't say people from Brazil don't know the traditional way to eat it some might, or you could be wrong. I'm not trying to be mean so please don't take it that way

But if there was, this would be it, since it's the traditional way, and not the way she described it, because putting all that stuff on açaí is considered almost offensive in the north. Anyway.
I tried watching a few other soap videos last night. Ugh. Katie you have ruined me forever. You were my first soaper (by accident! I don't even make soap....yet.) Now if I can just find someone like you with candle videos! Once you've watched a KC vid, everyone else is boring!

Have you ever thought about using a different bucket for your slab mold batches? I order my coconut oil in 28 lbs batches from Wholesale Supplies Plus and I repurposed the bucket it comes in for my big slab mold batches which are about the same size as yours. Plus it has a nice handle to make pouring a breeze. Just a thought, scraping out a smooth bucket would be so much easier :)

I actually just bought some really cute mini spatulas from Walmart. They were by the regular spatulas but on one of those metal chain things. (if that makes sense). They're bamboo handled and there are several types for $5!

I'm an american, but I know that açai is brazillian because my mom lived there for a year and she loves it. We find açai products here and my sister DEVOURS them. I personally love açai bowls.
As someone who lives in Hawaii, I feel your pain. Açai is hard to find in the stores here, so definitely not even a tiny bit native
As a fellow crafter, I have to tell you... YES! Mini-spatulas are both adorable and extremely handy! I work with UV resin and such and I love mine! (especially as someone who, like you, really doesn't like to waste even one drop of my hard work! lol
As a Brazilian this is one of my favorite soaps.

My first job was at a Jamba Juice, and we got to take home any of the açai bowl base that was leftover at the end of the day. I ate so much açai back then!

Snow doesn't happen where I live. I've only seen snow 3 times EVER. (For trips. In sweden&finland, Utah, and a random day on the way to the hockey game my dad was playing in. (recreational, NOT professional)

Açaí bowls are SO good! I had one in Finland once. It was probably the best one I'd ever had because I rarely ever have açaí bowls which is strange because my mom and sister LOVE açaí so much and we always have it in the house unless my sister ate all of it.

So cute you had the tought to look for the Ç letter and the accent on the letter I. We brazilians appreciate that, because people tend to write Açaí wrong to make it easier. It seems stupid to thank for something like that, but we like to see this tiny bit of our language and culture being respected :3

I used to be afraid but my desire to create took over 😆 i learned that if u pay attention to all the safety precautions theres nothing to worry about! even getting some lye water/raw soap on you is no big deal, just go to the nearest sink and wash wash wash 🧼 or keep some white vinegar near by to neutralize the basicity of the lye! 💜

I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but the other name for the stick blender is an “immersion” blender (bc the blending head is immersed in the blended material)! I saw that you had called it an Emulsion blender, and that’s a different thing lol! Thank you for sharing your creativity and your process, and for inspiring your followers so much!!

Hey im a huge fan I love your soaps and your energy, seeing the end results and hearing you keep your energetic personality all the way through really gets me pumped and I love watching your videos. I kinda want to leave a suggestion. If you are looking for a fall like kind of homey scent I would really recommend taking some insperation from the game Undertale. Ive had this idea from the moment I started watching you and this has just stayed in my head.
There is a character in the game named Toriel who acts as sort of a mother character, she takes care of you, and one of the things everyone loves about her is that she makes you a butterscotch cinnamon pie, after seeing your caramel apple pie soap I really feel like you could pull off a similar soap. One suggestion I would add would be a red heart soap cane down the middle of the bar, since a red heart is a really important symble to the game and character you play as. If your intrested I would highly, highly consider checking out or playing the game for yourself because I feel like you would absolutely adore it's story based, simplistic style. Also this game is extremely popular so not only would we love the fall like sents, and simple designe but it could be a way for many potential fans to find your soaps and for you to get more attention, because l really, really feel like you deserve much more recognition then what you are getting ❤

Omg!!! I went out & got me a tiny spatula for that EXACT reason (to get my dispersed micas out!). EVERY time I'd be trying to get my micas out of the little cup, I'd think to myself, "Dang! From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and eat açaí all the time! We usually eat it with banana and/or strawberry and granola!!!! I NEED THIS SOAP!!!!!!

@@jonathanrio6587 I don't actually live in Brazil, it's just that my mom lived there for a year a little while ago so she ate açaí all of the time. Now, we have lots of açaí products in our house. (Juice, Sorbet, we sometimes make açaí smoothies too)

In from Hawaii and tried my first acai bowl a couple years ago and i swear its better than ice cream! I hear they have acai berries to buy at costco too. So yummy! And i love the way this soap looks very cool!

I have to say, this may be one of my FAVORITES ever. It is so beautiful. I soo much prefer low tops over high tops. I think they’re so much more cute and creative. Especially the watermelon one and the blueberry one. Those plus this would 100% be my top 3. I want a whole slab!!

Was watching another soaper and she puts her soaps in a warm oven which forces them to gell. And he added a dehumidifier to her cure room. She explained that these changes reduce cure time to about 2 weeks. I'm wondering if you'd try this.
