Good stuff, I love getting a chuckle while watching. I expect future kittens and cooking content for your families views lol. We're here for it. Can't believe how far the home and driveway have come, just awesome. C ya next week
Coming along nicely Ross…kids are going to grow up in a beautiful place, your building positive hardworking values into them, they learn from watching and you sir are giving them the best lessons. Work hard and dreams come true. See you next week! Best wishes
I did enjoy your vlog, nice to see the family. Those kittens are cute. Hope they get to find a good home. The cabin is going to be Amazing. With that view, can’t go wrong.✔️ 👍👍👍👍👍 have a great and safe week from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Very much appreciated! My wife and kids want to give two of them a home already! Haha hopefully a couple stick around the pole barn too! You also have a great week! Thanks for the comment and watching!
I feel immense satisfaction over fitting a bathroom, or tiling a room.. can’t imagine the joy and satisfaction you must get from building something so fantastic. Especially on your own. Bravo sir..
Brilliant Content as always!! Those kittie 🐈 are adorable. The Momma found the safest place. Name suggestion "Semper" for one of them? Also I can send a Flag Pole setup to you so Ol Glory can fly true without being stuck on the pole barn.. And once again Keep on keeping on!! Semper FI
Thank you as always! Won’t ever tire of reading your comments! Also not a bad suggestion on the name! I’ve also noticed the flag hang up from time to time. Been thinking about moving it, but definitely will get to it this week! Should be able to find a more appropriate spot, thank you for the offer though!
I am not sure how you are in 2 places at 1 time ... :) You have some serious skills my friend . So happy to see how well you are doing . Keep u[p the amazing work . Love watching every video .
Thank you! Yes, cute little stinkers too. Haha great question on the cut. the logs all get scored on the top or bottom, couple inch deep cut is suppose to create a path for the checking to occur. So the major checks happen in an area that can’t be seen once the cabin is all finished up. (Beneath the chinking)
Thank you! I decided early on because of the trees I was working with (twisting, diameter and tamper variations) I was going to stack with a gap, and sometimes that gap varies because of the variables listed above. I believe I’ll be able to make the gaps look pretty even when finishing with the chinking. Great question though!
@@DIYDemasi Looks like you are over by Rapid City. Have family over there. We live outside of De Smet on a farm. It is a great place to raise kids and get out of the rat race.
Love your building of the cabin. Can't say anything bad. Except about your videoing. Try not to swing your camera so fast when you swivel left, right, up or down. Do it slower and we won't get so giddy watching what you are trying to show us. I've learn't by trial and error from filming many videos in Kruger Park to slowly swivel.
The three inch spacing is just what I felt was going to look/work the best with the logs I was using, it’s a larger footprint, so once my logs got to a certain length they tended to have more taper, twists, and knots. So the spacing is helped mitigate some of the issues I faced with the twists, knots and taper. Good question
I’ve had good experience with synthetic chinking in the past, and I’m leaning toward doing that again on this build. 101 next week here how does that compare? Is that a cool day for you? lol

Brother, I watched your videos from day one! Really enjoy your content and attention to detail! Great job, keep up the great work!
Thanks Ron! Some of the early ones were pretty rough so I’m impressed!

Making some good progress now! Nice to see the family a couple of times this week. Y'all have a great weekend! 🪓🪵🇺🇸😁
Yes! Getting closer, and always nice to have the family up!! You always have a great weekend! 🇺🇸 🌲
Always a good day when you upload.
Very much appreciate comments like that! Thank you sir!
Love the new intro. I finally know what you're doing and how you got here. Every build channel needs an intro, imo, for new subscribers. Thanks.
Thank you for the feedback! Always trying to determine what’s best for the viewer without being boring or too redundant! Thank you!! 🙏
Check out "Cabin River Outdoors." He has a great intro that pulls you in and provided a backstory to any new subscribers.
👍 I’ve actually seen that channel too, people love the homestead aspect i think too.
Coming along nicely 😊
Thank you! Getting closer now! Woo hoo
You should look for some flat rocks for the skirt of your cabin.
That’s a good idea, its only sitting on temporary posts at the moment, I plan to reassemble on a permanent foundation.
You fixed the ladder, made me laugh, sorry 👏👏👏
😂
Yeah bro you need to build them cats a house.
Hah maybe, 🤔 or maybe just a little straw or something for bedding.
Great family!! Will be good to have barn cats around!! So why did you score the long ones length wise? Looking good!!

Thanks, learning alot watching!! Boy your road is going to take a bunch of gravel!!

I live in South Dakota. I didn’t know people actually moved here.
Love it here! Beautiful place, people are great too! 🇺🇸

Question why such big gaps between the logs. Is it for the windows and doors do not break with the shrinkage of the logs. would like to know?

I’m curious, what is your plan for chinking the walls of your cabin?
Greetings again from the heat at Rancho de Vegas.
