It does my heart good to see such a fine house, and farm, fall into exactly the right hands to do it justice. Many congratulations on your new home, Marie-Anne. It is beautiful. :)
Thank you for showing us your WONDERFUL new (300year old ) farm! I absolutely love it. In the year 2000 when my son was in his final high school year, he spent 6 weeks in a French farm, with a young man who had stayed with us for 6 weeks and had come to school here! My so loved everything French.. The farm belonged to a dentist who also had a winery on the land, they also went hunting! The young man’s name was Adrian. Please show us again as you clean and paint your new home, it’s marvellous!
I’m so happy for you. Such a beautiful house full of so much history. And the grounds and countryside are gorgeous. Oh, to wake up to such beautiful views every day is a dream for me. I can’t wait to see it in the spring and summer. I’ll be watching all your videos as you make the house your home 😀
300 hundred years old.. that’s awesome… my house 🏠 an old craftsman in SoCal USA 🇺🇸 will be 100 in 2 years (1924). I love old houses 🏘. Wishing you all the best with your new home.
Do you know the "provenance" of the house? Can just imagine its history! Love the deep window sills, and those STONE STEPS! Man, fantastic find. Congratulations!
This is so beyond exciting, a stunning 300+ year old house! 😍 which dates back to the Revolution and even has the defaced coats of arms, what a treat that you showed this to us! 💖 Beautiful masonry work and all the details like the bakery and the stables which bred prized horses, and this being in Normandy who knows maybe some of those horses were Selle Français and wound up in the Cadre Noir!... I'm rambling now but historical places like this make one dream. Happy 2022 and may you be very happy in this magnificent home!
Wow, what gorgeous country house! Been a hectic year for me, I had only followed your the other channel and missed this. To catch up on your videos of this restoration works. Awesome home project that requires much energy and inspirations. Motivates me to keep moving forward.
Congratulations on your beautiful historical gem. I look forward to seeing the restoration process. I think the dogs will love living in the countryside with all that space and freedom to adventure around. ❤️🐶🐶
This is what I love so much about France (and all of Europe). It is living history. The “modern” items look so out of place. Your farmhouse and farm are absolutely gorgeous.
Congratulations on your new property it looks amazing. I hope you keep us informed as you make your renovations in improvements I know it will look fabulous.
Lovely house. That stone staircase is amazing. Just imagine how many people (and who) have used if over the 300 years ! Fabulous fireplaces too. Congratulations and enjoy your new home... can't wait to see the renovations.
Thank you for sharing this! My brother married a French Ambassador to Germany’s daughter, so I have beloved family in France, Paris to be exact. Always a lover of all things French, I built a Southern Colonial home outside Los Angeles in an equestrian community, and promptly filled it with a lifetime collection of French furnishings, real, as well as some reproductions. My brother (now deceased) and his family also had a farm In the Perego where they spent much of the summer relaxing, playing, and gathering and canning fruits, and vegetables for the winter months. Their story, and life in France is a romance for a novel. In fact, my sister-in-law is beginning to write a book documenting their journey… I look forward to following you on this, your journey, in a wonderful setting with rich history!♥️
Oh my gosh, I love, love, love your house!!!! It is my dream house!!! 😍 I am so happy you have that house, you are such a sweet and kind person, you deserve a beautiful house! 💖 looking forward to more videos!! ✨🎉🧨🎈🎊
Wow, Marie-Anne! What a fabulous home, country estate! It touches my heart! I think it is wonderful how you want to give life back to the farm! You inspire me! Much love to you in your grande home!
Wow, what a beautiful house. I’m sure you will enjoy your project home. My ‘petite maison’ in Normandy is over 250 years old and I always describe it as perfectly imperfect. Your setting is stunning, I’m looking forward to following your house journey xx
I am absolutely smitten with your new home & the countryside!!! Cannot wait to see how it evolves to reflect your own tastes!...I love antiques & anything with a story...what a gem!
Holy Moly and I thought we took on a huge project when we renovated our 1886 Victorian 23 yrs ago. It took 2 yrs before we could move in. It needed everything. At least you won't have to touch the exteriors of all your stone buildings. You did a fabulous job on your kitchen and I hope we get to see all the renovations. Your location is magnificent !!! I'm taking the tower tour next. :o)
My husband is half way through repointing the facade of the main house 😃 it was repointed in the 1970s with cement instead of lime mortar which has caused the facade to leak like a sieve 😬
@@frenchfoodfrenchhome Yes you can't use cement, you have to use mortar for stone and brick homes. In my 1886 Victorian the only place I have stone like yours is in the foundation/ cellar. However, when we had the roof re- shingled 20 yrs ago being it was constructed from thick railroad tie wood ( which you can see in the attic) all we needed was new shingles and spouting. The roofer said it would cost a fortune to use the same wood today so I'm glad it held up nicely. I'll bet your husband is handsome and handy. Mine of 49 yrs was neither ( he passed a yr ago after a long battle with cancer) but the man could paint walls, trim, wooden furniture like a champ and could hang pictures, mirrors and shelves with precision. One year he did build a coffin for Halloween from old wood. It was heavy as all hell but I wasn't the one who had to lift the lid and spring out of it to scare ppl. lol :o)
Bonjour Marie-Anne, je suis Audrey. You have a wonderful house in the beautiful countryside with outbuildings and land! I like your big kitchen, the deep windowsills and the cupboard underneath for storage. I love fireplaces with real log fires. You are always going to be warm in the autumn and winter months and you have central-heating radiators too, so you are never cold in your home. I find it sad about the coat of arms inside though that were scrapped off and what happened to the aristocrats, it's good the ones outside survived the revolution. I like the old antique furniture, the grandfather clock and the armoire. It is great that you have a utility room so you can get a large washing-machine in there and good to see that they had a sensible architect who put the boiler in the utility room! Having two shower rooms is great but you can add a bath into the bigger one as well. The stone stairs and old doors give your house lots of character, I love those French old door and window handles with locks. Also great you have a barn, you can have your own animals like (corn fed) chickens for fresh eggs and meat, a goat or two, at least you'll know they are healthy to eat because you'll know what food went into them! Preferably organic produce. If you are into art, you can use one of the outbuildings as an art studio or for refurbishing furniture. You can also re-purpose the bakery and have your own fresh baguettes and croissants! I look forward to watching your other videos to see what you do to your new home. I can see you are happy with it and so you should be, you are living the good life! Merci beaucoup pour le tour.
Thank you for sharing your lovely new home with us. I see you have many places for beautiful photo shoots too. I love the history you shared about the removal of the coat of arms above fireplace during the revolution to hide their connection to aristocracy.
Your new house is so fascinating, historical, and full of possibilities!!!! To think that in your kitchen, during the Revolution, people had removed the coat of arms!! What things must've happened!! As the saying goes, "If those walls could talk!".. I hope that you don't mind my saying, you remind me of my Maman sometimes!! It's so cute to hear them clicking around behind you, worrying to themselves!!!
Wow, it is a very impressive property. What's more impressive is your willingness to do the work required to make this farm the home you envision. I'm grateful you'll be taking us along for the experience.
What an incredible estate! Congratulations! If those walls could talk! I know you will make it into a fine family home and I wish you so many blessings on this new journey.
Such a beautiful setting and the house is stunning! You are going to have so much fun restoring and decorating. The house has fantastic bones! Congratulations!!
My heart really reached out to you when you said bring life back to this abbandoned house (very beautiful and with great potential)! I bought a little stone farm house here in Tuscany just to save it from being knocked down! It' s a form of art breathing life back into these beautiful buildings and giving them the respect they deserve
How lovely 😊. Its so characterful and I envy you, living with 300 years of history and original features. Have fun changing it to your taste and making it a home. Can't wait to see the transformation.
What a personality this farm has!! I know you will do it justice with your renovations......The best of luck to you with this project. Looking forward to see the process.......
Gorgeous 😍 I'd rip out the modern fireplace enhancer bit and restore a proper old fashioned kitchen firepit. The kind that spits would be roasted on hundreds of years ago.
Yes you have work to do but the bones of the house and out buildings are superb!!!!! Congratulations on such a wonderful find !!!! This house will bring you and your family much joy for many many more years to come. Looking forward to seeing what you do to it. ❤️👍🏻❤️
What a beautiful property. You are all going to have such fun, laughter and maybe a few tears while restoring what was once a much loved property. Take many photos to keep as you and yours travel on this journey. Many congratulations Marie-Anne on buying such a beautiful project. Enjoy. 💐🤗
You have such nice views looking out the windows. I love that! This is quite inspirational since we too are making a big move next summer, to Texas where we will live in the country and have horses and cows. I'm glad that you are still adventurous. We have received some criticism for moving across the country "at our age", but this is our dream, and we are going after it!!
Love your hew home...so many possibilities!!! And your little brown dog...looks like the dog I had growing up (but her ears were down like a dachshund)!!! May their life (and that of your other dog) be as long as her's. She lived 18 years!
What a lovely old house. It will be even more delightful when you are done decorating it. Perhaps I could come and be your sous-chef for videos, even though I'm not a chef. I could sleep in the little room under the stairs. Good luck on your new adventure and I cannot wait to see all about it
Dear Marie-Anne, I'm so happy for you, congratulations on your purchasing a beautiful historic house that will be undoubtedly restored and cared for at the highest standards while respecting its essence. I Guess it will be a huge project for you to work on! Please send pics and updates. Warm regards and virtual hugs, Francisca 👏💖🤗
This is gorgeous. I am actually a bit speechless. This appears to be a big project. So happy for you! Can't wait to see all the things you do. Best wishes. Your channel is a delight.
Marie-Anne congratulations to this big historical farm. A lot of character and chapeau for having the feeling to restaurate a farm 300 years old. But that's total you. Loving old things and appreciating them in times where life is only fast and consuming and throwing away in order to buy new.
Congratulations on your new home! It looks like something from a historical romance novel. I can’t wait to see your personal touches to the house. Are you planning on getting some horses? Your dogs are too cute. I imagine you’ll also start a beautiful garden, since French people value fresh wholesome food. I look forward to your future videos!
Congratulations to you and your husband on the acquisition of your new home. It looks like you are going to thoroughly enjoy all this property has to offer. I would like to join the other subscribers in thanking you for including us on this journey. Good luck!
So incredible Marie-Anne… how lucky to live in such an amazing piece of history. A dream come true 💕. Just think of the people who built this amazing place … warms my heart ❤️. Really happy for you, Carl and the puppies.
I can tell you really appreciate the real estate you have purchased. You are going to give it the attention that a home always deserves. Congratulations! Love the stones, rock work and fireplaces. Good Job !
Oh my, the views from the windows are exquisite. How wonderful for you to decorate and make your own. It has such good bones and so much history. Congratulations and enjoy! Linda from Paris Ontario.
So much history and what an honour to make it your own and become part of history. Your imagination must run wild with all that has happened in that home. I love it.
Marie-Anne, I am so happy for you. I am sorry about the excess flooding you just had and I hope there was no damage to those beautiful structures. I shall be happy all day thinking about your new home. Cheers from Virginia.
This beautiful property is full of potential. I know you will create an classically elegant home. Look forward to watching the transformation. Congratulations!
Oh my!! Congratulations on your purchase of your new home. What an undertaking. I cant wait to go along on your journey of restoring this farmhouse which is full of charm, history and a personality of its own!! Raise a glass of champagne to your beautiful purchase.
Marie-Anne you have found a real jewel. It's an amazing farmhouse which may take a bit of time to fix and for sure lot of work to restore to it's original stand. However, it will be great fun to experiment and without a doubt bring many rewards to you and your family. Please continue making videos showing your restorations and future ideas. Your doggies are really cute. 🤗🖐
Wow ! 🤗 What a fantastic property ! 🤗 I hope you will film and show us how you get on with the renovating ! I'm sure lots of your followers will enjoy following your adventure ! 👍 This is you guys living the dream that many of us have ! 🤗
I love your home and beautiful estate. I look forward to seeing your renovation videos. The views from your kitchen are amazing. Congratulations On your lovely home. 🤗
😂❤Marie-Anne, I love your husbands logic of you have to sort the problem first!I often refer to that as rules of engagement ❤. Thanks for sharing the dream. Beautiful
Beautiful house. I just love those old-style windows with the large windowsills from the inside. My grandfather's house is like that. I loved sitting there as a child and watching the rain fall.
Love your new property! It’s beautiful. Such an enormous project. You have to have a good imagination to see it what things could be like. I hope we’ll see the work in progress? And a couple of horses! You’ll have lots of rooms for guests in the farm buildings - did you call it a dépendance ? It’s all fantastic. Wishing you many years of happiness there.
Good luck on your new house, hope you enjoy living there and you will bring the house back to life, if it could talk, what stories it would tell, so much history in them walls 😍❤
I grew up in Sussex UK, but I lived in Cornwall UK as a Teen. Many of the houses there are stone like your house and in fact the same tribes of people came from Normandy during the conquests. My Father's surname was Lander which came from Landernau... small World! There are a lot of people in North Eastern France who are old Britons aren't they,?I went to Morlaix and stayed with a family when I was sixteen. Thank you for showing your lovely new Farmhouse.
What a lovely property. Beautiful setting. So many fascinating features. With your creativity, it will soon be transformed into a chic home. I see another series, Marianne's "How To Decorate Like A French Woman".
Wow! What a fabulous house, surrounding land and buildings. It all has so much potential. It will certainly be a big project for you - a bit too much for me! I look forward to seeing what you do with place - can't wait! 😁🏡
It makes me happy to see that there are people like you that want to beware the old houses. Every old house has a story to tell. How many pepole laughed and cried in such a house, how many children were born in this place....Thanks for showing us your new home.🙂
I really cannot decide which element of your new home I like the best. I love love love the stone stairwell, the kitchen is charming with her beamed ceilings and I cannot wait to see the reveal of what lies behind that boxed- in chimney. What a treasure you have discovered!💮💮💮
Beautiful Marie Anne! Fantastic farm restoration project complete with future horses! You deserve such a worthy challenge and I look forward to see how you make it your own! Beautiful fresh Normandy!
I love your French house ! It looks similar to one in the uk and the only difference is the kitchen is Huge which is must. Show us Marie Anne how to decorate our kitchen in a chic Frenchie way
I love it!! It has so much character and those fireplaces! 😍 The land outside seems so serene and fresh. I love the history. Such an exciting adventure and change. Your adorable dogs will live a happy life there. Thank you for taking us along on your tour, I can’t wait to see the transformation!

However, it will be great fun to experiment and without a doubt bring many rewards to you and your family. Please continue making videos showing your restorations and future ideas.
