    Great video, but I wouldn't have written off the Viper coil pack. Dodge used it on a few other vehicles that may have also been available in Australia. Biggest perk for me is how much easier it is to diagnose issues when you can actually check for spark.

      We didn't get Dodge here period.

      The viper coil pack is a available because some people like it….I’m not a fan of it since you have plug wires now & a coil you have to track down if it ever fails so I’ve always preferred the long coil a little dielectric grease stays water tight for wheeling eventually everything goes bad so when it’s time to replace it you just have to pick what works for your application best….it’s not gonna gain you any power so it’s really just what you like

      @@Jboost412 100% agree there are no performance gains to be had from the viper coil mod. I just like how much easier it is to test for spark.

    Good job Daz, love the TJ maintenance vids. You may need to explain to OS what a 'good toilet read' is :)

    I like your video but in my case understanding how to unlock the plug is very hard to understand because I can't see how it locks

    FYI I understand that the "Viper" coil is also used on numerous more pedestrian Mopar V6 applications, like the Jeep JK and Dodge/Chrysler/VW minivans and trucks, although you have to ignore the embossed cylinder numbers. As I understand it, the V10 Viper uses two coils, one from the V6, and one from a 4 cylinder. Referring to it as the "Viper" coil just makes it sound more exotic than it really is. Out of curiosity, where is the MSD coil rail manufactured?

    • @DarrylSheather
      @DarrylSheather  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It may have been used in the 3.8 JK not the 3.6 as they have individual coil packs.

    I skipped through the vid, so maybe I missed it, but why didn't you replace the plugs while you had the rail out?

    What was the price difference from the RockAuto OEM rails? Also how do you search RockAuto other than items listed under your model and year? I know they have other parts but you need a part number to search.

    • @DarrylSheather
      @DarrylSheather  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Similar pricing for the NGK version. If you look in Quadratec or the like you can find part numbers of parts pretty quickly and search with those.
