Yeah sure. You could make a Series out of the Metallic Arts alone. Feruchemy Tier List. Hemalurgy not so much because it would just be better as a Theory video. Compounding Tier List for sure would be a good one. My personal Tier List for Allomancy would go: S- Pewter and Steel. Bendalloy would be here if the Bubble could move with you but that takes Savant level stuff so standard Bendalloy isn’t here A- Zinc, Brass, Tin, Chromium, and Bendalloy. Chromium gets a bump from a similar Metal in Nicrosil because Chromium doesn’t have any potential blowback from an explosion of Allomantic power that might hurt you. B- Iron, Copper, and Bronze. Useful but not as much as the others above. Iron is the Metal effected most without its partner I think. C- Cadmium, Electrum, Nicrosil, and Gold. These are the “do something” Metals but the things they do aren’t all that great without being Mistborn. D- Aluminum and Duralumin. Yeah everyone knows these go here lol
A tier list of compounders would be interesting. People like Miles Hundredlives from book four but for every metal. A chromium compounder with Infinite luck would make a cool villain. Someone with unrivaled wealth and influence because they can just buy lottery tickets, bet on sports, run for office, and it always works for them. Maybe people keep trying to take him out but every assassin just magically trips on their own knife before they can take him out.
Chromium compounders remind me of Matrim Cauthon from The Wheel of Time lol I like the idea about ranking the compounders, I'll definitely add that to the list of future tier list videos!
@@ExploringTheCosmereactually chromium compounders dont make luck, they make Fortune, which is the ability shards use to see into the future, so i think they can see into the future but might not be able to comprehend it fully or make the probability they saw come true, as Fortune is a really unstable thing and it doesnt show what will happen and instead what CAN happen. Edit: it isnt like atium but more like visions of Renarin i think
That's a good point. Hoid uses fortune to know where to worldhop to, right? I remember either reading a WoB or in one of the books that he knows where he needs to be, but doesn't know the reason for being there.
Aluminium is actually very useful in the wider cosmere as a whole, as it supposedly doesn’t only wipe your own allomantic reserves but any other sources of Investiture acting on you as well. There‘s no lashing an aluminium misting upward against their will, and no withering by a shade either. Also, nicrosil could become busted in era 3 onwards, once you can get your hands on unkeyed nicrosilminds with other Invested abilities to be burned and absorbed by you.
Not really. It’s great for Wayne, since he‘s a gold Ferring and with it there’s no beating him in a 1v1 (which bendalloy allows him to set up and resolve instantly), but outside that? It’s mostly good for doing things quickly that are confined to a small area. If you are a stage magician or a nearing a deadline, it’s the power for you, but not otherwise.
@Buphido if you're getting shot at you can stop time readjust, change position take your time to aim then drop the bubble as well. If you're getting ambushed you can take the time to draw your weapons. You could even raise a barricade. More time is an advantage for creative thinkers. Sure if you're just a boxer then it's not really that useful since you're in a bubble but even then it's very useful if you're getting ganged up on because fighting 1v1 many times is way easier than fighting 1 v multiple people simultaneously
@@Buphido Honestly with Wayne its heavily nerfed, because Wayne refused to use guns. Bendalloy in era one would have been busted, and in era 2, someone willing to use guns could be fairly strong, dodging from cover to cover with comparative ease
Bendalloy in B is ridculous, It is objectively A or higher, the fact that you can utilise it to speed up time for you accelerate your ability to react to something, the ability to basically shoot a gun and reload it 10x faster than your opponent, the sheer ability to no matter what while you are burning it to have the speed advantage. Then you can also use it on those around you to either Isolate person for a brawl or speed up your allies as well. Pop up a bubble and have a firing squad in your bubble. Your fire power will be unbeatable except for the most skilled of Coinshots and Sliders. Then as a Savant you can bring the Bubble with you and act in near constant Bullet time, so long as you have Bendalloy. Sure its not the most outright powerful and dangerous, but in sheer utility and support capabilities, especially for Twinborn or full Mistborns as well, you have an S tier metal.
It's heavily implied that the reason Breeze would soothe without realising it was that he was a savant okay, by heavily implied I mean that the exempt that mentions savants shows up pretty much the same time as the mention of Breeze soothing without realising it, and mentions that brass and zinc savants are extremally common
@@ExploringTheCosmereI would assume that someone who gains the status of savant in those metals would probably find it uncomfortable to interact with people without the metal. It might even give them some improved instincts about how others are feeling when they burn the metal, to the degree that they find it difficult to read people otherwise. Both traits fit very well with Breeze.
I'd probably push Bendalloy to A tier and move Zinc and Brass to B tier. But that approach would be more combat focused. Anyways nice vdeio I enjoyed watching it.
Cadmium could be great for palliative care (giving family more perceived time with the patient) or other medical scenarios. Also police interrogations? Bomb diffusion ( to help evac). I dunno I’d put it higher than C.
Don't forget savantism for each of these metals! For example, Spook's savantism allowed him to numb himself after prolonged burning, which let him pull that lever in Urto
Personally I think that bendalloy > tin > brass / zinc. Bendalloy seems extremely useful to me both inside and outside of combat. It allows you to gain extra time to think. You can be a master politician / debater by gaining extra time to think about every argument. You can be a master thief by stealing things faster than anyone can even see. You become really hard to hit in combat as seen with Wayne. There's a lot of clear uses. Tin's usefulness is obvious. Superhuman senses have lots of combat and non-combat applications. Brass and zinc are only useful in social situations and have several big issues. The first is that its obviously offensive if you're manipulating people or even illegal in certain situations like seen in Era 2. If people know that you're a rioter / soother, it becomes even harder to use as people can recognize the effects in themselves and they will generally trust you less to begin with. Finally, they can be easily stopped with aluminum-lined hats.
You're winning me over on bendalloy! It definitely has more uses than I gave it credit for. It's been a long time since I read era 2 (other than TLM). I need to do a reread!
Bronze should be way higher imo. Until we see more widespread investiture detection devices and whatnot Bronze has been and still is pivotal in rooting out political manipulations, seeing if someone is trying to scam you, or seeing someone clearly positioned to snipe you well before there's line of sight. Even if Vin's was boosted that only goes to show what a modern society with commercially available Hemalurgic implants would be like
i think Chromium also deserves to be higher as well. It has the potential to act like Raysium and could be of great importance in the space age of the Cosmere

Wonder of U ahh allomancer
Maybe rank the surges from storm light archive next, or the different orders of the knight’s radiant :)
Kinda early in the series to do this, since we havent seen practical applications of 6/10 of the surgebinders.

Bendalloy in B is CRAZY. Like it might be the strongest for a misting

That makes a lot of sense. That's probably one of the better metals to become a savant in, doesn't seem to do much damage to the allomancer.

Tin is an easy S tier bro. I cant believe you put it in B lol
yes more of these off the cuff videos!!! Very fun!
cadmium is S tier if you are thinking about the Space Age application of keeping your time the same while traveling
in space age scardial they have faster than light travel though
Nice point
Good video i like a lot cosmere tiers. Any plans for a tier list of ferruchemy or surges/rafiant order next?
I'll definitely do a Feruchemy one sometime soon! Surges/radiant one will probably be after I make a deep dive about the radiants

Coming back in 2 months later and @rookiecookie722 you’re not too far off. You could gain the skills of your Gold Shadows. It’s so cool
I bet you could use gold to help give insight into your own soul if you were looking to create an essence mark for yourself

wheres the other 272 allomantic metals lol?? This is a joke and possibly some spoilers
