This technique was straightforward and worked well with a bit of effort. I am a 73 yr. old skier.

Patriot FTW! Love your videos man, been watching for a long time now haha. I'll have to try this out, I broke a pair of atomics (the light hawx 130) the upper cuff piece just snapped off where it contours around the bolt by the outside ankle. I always did the pinch method, but I've never hit the top of the cuff like that to finish the job. Thanks for another pro tip!

      Thanks man!
That sucks about the boot. Were you skiing in them at the time?
Yeah always be careful with your knuckles using the method. I have lost so much skin on my knuckles that it is now permanent scar tissue. :)

@@PatriotFootbeds Haha that's rad. I was just getting the liner back in thankfully. think I bent the cuff out too much causing the breakage

Totally figures I just put my liners in about 2 minutes before I found this video.... figures... lol.... thanks... !!! ... P.s. I have dalbello DS Mx 120 I custom fit myself after the other boot fitter gave up... the other boot fitter cut my liners on the sides without telling me cause my feet are so wide... what do you suggest for new liners....thanks in advance...

Great work on the self fitting! Love to hear it. Yeah I am a big fan if you need to replace your liner, to look at the Intuition liners. Super comfortable and very moldable, especially if you need the extra width!

@@PatriotFootbeds your videos helped me fit my own boots... ended up buying a regular boot spreader from amazon plus a heat gun and a laser temp... they are sooo comfortable now for my duck feet... thanks again... will look at Intuition....

Okay great technique and it really works. I would never leave my liners in my shells after a day of skiing. But …I have women’s Head Edge Lyt 90 boots and the interior plastic ridges at the back of the shell seem to be doing some damage to the heel of the liner over time. I have used duct tape on the inside of the shells to cover the sharp edges but it marks the liners and creates a sticky mess over time. What to do? How can I contact Head to complain about this and perhaps get replacement liners if they wear out?

Hi Anne, great to hear you are doing this, it is the best thing to dry them properly. Yeah you are probably doing the best thing possible by taping over the ridges if they really catch the liner. Also it will protect from taking off the skin on your knuckles as you put the liner back in. :) I dont think you would have much luck getting a replacement liner. Also not sure if you would be able to reach anyone at Head about this specific issue. (I would suggest using a product/ or making something like- The Ski Boot Horn. That way you could cover these ridges and hopefully slide them in easier.)

I really appreciate your personal reply and would love to email you sometime to ask a few more questions. One other suggestion: include more info on your vlog about moderate to high performance women’s boots I.E. specific fit issues for women, which women’s ski boot models you recommend for strong recreational skiers etc. I am an older (advanced) female skier and I have had some real challenges getting good fit and maintenance advice on ski boots. Your info really helped me find a better boot fit but would still love more focus on women’s skiing.

I don't throw like a girl but I certainly loose all of my skin every time, even with this technique :/ :D

:( The other thing you can try is to leverage your liner with your hand inside the liner. Not as smooth, but will definitely protect the knuckles.
