I've never played these levels before. The very original levels I know all to well, but I never knew these exact ones existed.

These are in Japan I think
This was only released in Japan. This is an "Difficulty Level: Asian" form of Super Mario 2. This is the Super Mario Bros. 2 not released in North America because it was deemed "too difficult" by play testers. Its the reason Doki Doki Panic was re-skinned at a mario game and released in the US instead.

That's known unofficially as "Fake Bowser".
Oddly, it dies like the other final Bowsers in the game when you hit it with 5 fireballs.

No A through D? Or did you have to do some kind of fancy shenanigans to access them in the 8-bit version that you didn't want to do here?
If I'm not mistaken, you need to beat the game 8 times before worlds A through D become accessible through the main title screen (they aren't loaded up automatically after world 9).

You must beat all levels from 1.1 to 8.4 to unlock the world 9.

You can either get it on emulator or if you want a physical copy you can have one made by someone online and you pay them money for the game on an NES cartridge.

I played the lost levels on sm Allstars, i beat it straight through but had the benefit of the save feature as well as the infinite 1up technique to max out at 121 lives plus i used Luigi for the entire game. Going through world 9 plus getting through the Letter worlds also

Si, este juego es de nintendo, pero solo salió en Japón
En el resto del mundo no lo aceptaron ya que era una dificultad insana, y era muy parecido al primer juego, y fue remplazado por otro juego japones, le cambiaron los sprites por los de Mario, Luigi, Toad, y la princesa Peach, para así dar lugar al super mario bros 2 falso, que es el que todos conocemos
Al final lo agregaron en el super mario all stars, remasterizado, pero a este juego le cambiaron el nombre a "Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels"

You have to buy "game and watch, super mario bros." Pocket consol game. There is mario 1 and 2 and the third game is the oldest mario game where you have to throw balls and so on... i have game and watch consol and i'm now playing mario 2 final stage but its so hard.. princess is not safe yet..

SMB 2 Japan or the lost levels in usa for SMB Allstars was only released in Japan because of its huge difficulty. SMB 2 in the us was a redesign reskin of Japan only game "Doki Doki Panic". I think you can play both on Nintendo switch in their online library.
