Glad to see you making more videos. I enjoy watching you grading and blading. I’ve been pulling leavers and chasing beavers for 20 years and think I would loose my mind working with all those obstacles. Keep the videos coming Vern
Hi Mike, Before I started this channel, I thought "parabolic" crowns were the norm, when building streets. I have since found out that some locations just use a straight crown, like a highway. As for the purpose, that is a good question. I does make the procedure more complex. So I hope that the engineers that came up with it have a good reason.
Hey Vern, I love all of your videos and try to soak up every bit of info I can. I am a young aspiring bladehand in the states. I am wondering if you could comment or include in one of your videos about quarter crowns and their purpose and some other details. Thank you!
Awesome videos as always Vern! Enjoy coming here to learn from you. I run a 770gp in Ontario. Bring on some more videos! I liked your comment about the slope meter not always being accurate depending on where your wheels are. Made me laugh about a time last summer. Soft edge, blading 5/8 gravel in about 6 inches deep @ 2.5% on the blade, (i have a digital readout of what the blade itself is at percentage wise) but the passenger tires kept sinking down in with each pass showing 6-8% on the meter. Boy was i ever mad for a few passes until that edge got packed in. Lol
Hey Vern I'm glad you're adding more videos. I learn a ton when I watch them. I wasn't hired into my position as an operator but we have a 143H and when I have a free minute I like to get on it and mess around.
Hi Kyle, I see you are using my last name as your first name. That's OK, no charge for that. Thanks for the input, I'm glad you learned something. Keep messing around.
Hello, I am French and I am a fan of your videos which are very informative. I learn a lot from you. Thank you for sharing your techenics which are very interesting. See you soon.
H Vern, great perspective, I got a lot out of it. So definitely seat of your pants feel and eyeballing it for the 2%. Cheerio, can't wait to see the next one.
@@onlyamillionmistakesvernky7937 Yeah you could say that. I'm off to Rockhampton tonight on our Passenger train (east coast of Queensland) I'll send you a few photos later. Take it easy. Cheers
600mm to back of walk from the hub. For curb it's usually 600mm to back, and 500mm to lip. This could vary, depending on the location, and the engineering firm.

Awesome to see another video Vern. There are a lot of details to pay attention to when running a blade and you do a great job explaining them.
Thanks for the input.
Thank you for the videos. Just started blading at a county highway dept. Little training provided at all. Your videos are very helpful.
Hi Jacob, appreciate the comment.

How far off the back of walk do your guys set the string?

Die hard G or H 140 fan. M obstructs my view because the joystick posts are right in the way.
