I will say that leafs fans and rangers fans are some of my favourite fanbases. I'm an oilers living in Toronto but leafs fans always make for good drinking buddies cause they also understand pain. The chirps are always light hearted and fun. I love being an oilers fan here. Plus they mostly all prefer the oilers over Calgary haha. And rangers fans are ALWAYS a good time at msg. They're just so much fun to watch hockey with and go out with. Defs my favourite fanbases outside of being back in Edmonton for games.

I’m a leafs fan from NY and my second favorite team are the rangers. This guy proves why.
I am a diehard Capitals fan, and most Caps fans I know say they hate Toronto, but I’ve always had a soft spot for them. People like to make fun of them because it’s been so long since they won the Cup and they can never get past the first round but if anything, I feel bad for them for that. They have a lot of history and they are one of the most notorious hockey teams in the world and I would like to see them do well for a change. I hope they beat Tampa Bay in this first round so they can finally break the first round curse. And people talk about their fanbase being so crazy, if anything, that just shows how dedicated they are to their team and how much they love the Leafs. I mean hockey is as big in Canada as football is here in the US. Canadians go crazy for it and the fact that Toronto hasn’t won a championship in so long and yet people stay fans of the team, it shows how dedicated and loyal they are. People like to hate on John Tavares, Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, etc. but I have nothing against any of them. They are all terrific players.

Leafs have the largest fanbase, therefore fans of other teams have encountered the negative side of the leaf's fanbase more often than other team's fanbases and hate the team and fanbase because of those negative leaf fans. Every team has bad fans, but Toronto just has more due to the popularity of the team. The Toronto media with their overeactive or bold comments don't help either

As a Rangers fan from before 1994 I feel like I can relate to the Leafs with their long dry spell without the cup. I remember the 1940 chants. Granted if it's Rangers vs Leafs I'm 100% behind the Rangers but against a random team I'm hoping they can break their dry spell.

The fans are annoying when the teams hot they say stupid crap like this is Canada’s team. Yea a team that’s won nothing since 1967.
