Ashley Young has had a quiet but quite solid career over 200 appearances for United winning the league, FA Cup and Europa league, moves to Inter and wins the scudetto. Not many Englishmen have won a league title abroad
And he also won the biggest prize in football promotion the championship play off final
He’s had a very respectable career. He was a good professional by the sounds of it.
Still can’t believe Ashley Young was intentionally bald at United for 9 years
That's why he never got the hairdryer treatment
I didn’t notice he has hair till I read this
He might have got a hair transplant?
@@freeatlast. 😂😂😂😂
@@Rafflewafflez You could see his hair when he was bald
Big respect for the Career Ashley’s had
Now, he still played at Everton since 2023, when he wore #18 shirt.
His goal in the 8-2 v Arsenal always lives in my memory. Good player he was.
He scored 2 decent goals that game
He only scored bangers
Some guest come on and can’t articulate there views or opinions but Ashley speaks so well and confidently.
id disagree, he sounds like hes trying to remember what his pr trainer told him before the show
@@stryk3r360not really, he sounds honest here. If he was pr trained he wouldve been overly complimentary to lvg and mourinho but gave a fairly balanced view on both their tenures
He speaks well but still seems like he has thoughts he is struggling to quite explain, like he doesn't know how to put it into words, he was repeating himself a little bit
But he was trying to be honest and spoke clearly
Here hes honest but every other part he was not clear at all
He still didn't answer which manager was the closest
One of most underrated player.Ashley’s commitment, selfless and dedication can’t be described. He played a lot of positions through his career without complain and still playing at the age of 38. Man United legend!
That first season was ridiculous. I just remember that Arsenal smashing.
Ashley forever Young
He played with Everton this past Friday against Luton Town in 1-1 away draw.
@@krisnarefaagusta16 This comment was about the dude looks like a 24 year old. shredded, no wrinkles, and a million fortune at 38.
What an underrated footballer. Was a bit of a scapegoat for a couple seasons towards the end with United but proved he was quality by going to Inter and still producing and winning the league there. Top professional and top player…
Love hearing Ashley speak, so refreshing so articulate underrated lw aswell. Class player
Yes, he's now an Everton full-backer with #18 shirt.
"I didnt need telling what to do, I just needed an arm round the shoulder and telling right son this is what to do" - Ashley Young
😂😂😂 i was going to comment this
@@Straight-Outta-Nottingham Same
I'm sure he meant he didn't need yelling at
He’s saying he didn’t need the hair dryer treatment.. have you listened to anything he said?
That confused me too hahaha. Ashley lad.
Ashley Young, one of football's best young talents.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@kieranm2514 I mean he turned out better than Jay Rodriguez.
Nice to hear about the 2011+ period. I feel like for months now, especially with overlap etc, we just hear about man utd's perfect 90s/00s on repeat. I hope we get more insight on how things were post fergie
I agree with you. I'm more interested in how things were run at the background during the 2010s, post-fergie.
I still grapple with understanding how the entire team plummeted during this era. I need to know more.
Yes, I understand that City and Liverpool got astronomically excellent. But we made some significant investment that I expected to at least keep us afloat.
It's so shameful how we've fallen.
Ashley will forever be young innit 😂
One of our most underrated players in my opinion. Consistent quality mixed with a top quality attitude.
I'm 26, and it feels like I've watched Ashley Young play top flight football for all my life. He's had a great career and will always be a united fan favourite
True professional, proud to look at him as a Man United top player.
One of the best Villa players from the O'Neil years, amazing to look at the career him and Milner had. Would've loved to see him finish his career with us, did a great job last season even at 38.
People shouldnt forget how good he was for villa , he was our best player between 08-11
Love the way the former players still call fergie boss
It’s why this club will never move on and will be in the shadows for years to come
@@laynervixxerex players calling Fergie boss is the reason why the club will never move on? Despite no ex players being associated with the club?
@@Billyb0b557 the managers are still all in his shadow.
Absolute top player man he gave his all every game he was incredible!
Wow he looks fresh for his age !! Man clearly has good genes and takes care of himself!! for him still to be playing at the top level also! Hats of brv ! 🔴🔴🔴🔴
Cause he's Young
Very underrated player he is very, I'm a blues fan and him and milner was the only two villa players I never minded because of how good they were
Excellent insight by Ashely Young honest Refreshing Interview
Ashley Young was a joy to watch!
Very professional player ,serious both on pitch and off the pitch.young is a manu Legend.Thank you Young❤
Massive respect to Ashley, great character. He'd do anything to fight for his team, and captaining sides at 38 years old as he is now is a testament to this
The Greatest manager to ever grace the game
Young never gets old! cant believe he is 40 next year! 😲😲😲😲
YOUNG IS FOREVER YOUNG..NEVER GETS OLD FOR REAL😂😂😂
Love u young Ashley 🎉❤
I think Young was vastly underrated during his time at United didn't akways get the praise & credit he deserved. Was a good solid useful versatile player for us never moaned never complained just got on with the job in hand. How massively have things changed since then on
Ashley Young much respect.
Goalscoring winger goes inside or outside for Villa, turned into a committed fullback for MAN U, still going at 37. Intelligence. Speaks well. Outstanding.
I like the guy for some reason. And he has had an interesting carreer. Most players his age would have done nothing more after leaving Utd.
Always had a really good attitude to be fair. That's how he ended up playing full back, because he'd sacrifice for his team and he had the discipline to defend well. Always liked Ashley Young at United
@@ste4392Yeah great attitude he refused to play for the club before he left
Veteran legend 🙌 👏
Ashley Young is better than most pundits sky have on to be fair! Speaks really well
People sleeping on how good Young was certified legend
Very good player with a great attitude
underrated player always played for the shirt decent captain
Forever legend, young forever
You can see Ashley isnt the best players in the league but his attitude as a player, that's why SAF get him. A true United player, unlike players in the current team..
Hmm at that time, Ashley Young was definitely one of the top 5 wingers in the league and this was widely known and accepted!
Infact he shouldve moved to a big team way before 2010
How does Ashley not understand what Mourinho said? It was his greatest achievement because there was clearly a lot of nonsense going on behind the scenes and he felt the squad overperformed
I think Ashley understands Mourinho's statement very well, but doesn't like it, being one of the players involved. So he tries to downplay Mourinho's words.
@@Kivikesku Well, that's a shame because he should also understand that Mourinho is also talking about the people above him.
And that's still going on now. Imagine playing now and hearing that the whole squad is getting cleared out.
Underrated at United! Great Career! If we had 2012 Ash in our team now, he'd be one of our best players... unfortunately.
Ashley clearly takes his surname seriously, bro hasn’t aged one day in the last 15 years, some crazy genetics! 😂 legendary player in my opinion very underrated. Never forget the goals v Arsenal and the left back performances after evra was huge boots to fill.
This interview says alot how players are still stuck in the past and the united way. Ibrahimovic said it right, im here to do my own thing and not to do what was done in the past. United need to forget the past, and be present with new ways of thinking
Learn from the past create the future
What a legend Ashley Young 🔥 you could put him at any position at United he’d still give everything unlike the trash players we have right now. One of Fergie’s best transfer. Very underrated
That's when man utd players stuck together had leadership then
YOH THE FERGUSON POINTS TALLY IS UNMATCHED I TELL YOU
My favourite Ashley Young moment was a seagull shitting in his mouth during a game 😂😂😂😂
Omg I forgot about that 😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂what?!
@@Poussyeater-w5eyes that happened in a game
At least he can look back one day and say he did his best and played football at the highest level while you sit trolling on social media.
Ashley still can help Everton prevent relegate 👍👍
Yes, back on Friday he was at the starting eleven under Sean Dyche, when Everton battled Luton until being substituted by Séamus Coleman at 67 minutes. The results is 1-1 draw.
Ashley Young might've had some poor games later on in his utd career but what I never questioned was his desire, was 100% on it ,in good or bad games.
Jose Mourinho is Manchester United's most successful manager since Sir Alex Ferguson. From this interview it's clear that the players didn't like him and purposely got him sacked
Young was the best diver in the premier league
Great servant for united 👏
Not gonna lie, Ashley was one of my favorites at United, great career. I will say, this is gonna tell us that clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan and Man Utd, don’t focus on tactics, play your game, if we really need a plan we’ll make one. Reminds me of Don Carlo saying he had nothing to do with Milan’s defense, what could he teach Maldini and Nesta. I doubt SAF would tell his defense exactly what to do, probably a “tighten up” or a “stop wasting the ball”. Players at these clubs know what to do, let them play, pop them on the back of the head when they get complacent and identify the issue. I think ETH needs to let his boys play and just give them basic, sound advice. 🤷🏽
I wasnt expecting this sort of interview after the crystal palace smacking.. but sure went better than the match itself.
3:02 “I didn’t need telling what to do, I just needed an arm round the shoulder - Right son this is what you need to do” Absolute turnip
'we didnt really do tactical things' thats how good we were.
The fact that 10 years (and counting) without a Prem, and ppl STILL hung on abt the Webbs of this league is hilarious. Womp womp for your crushed ambitions.
When the name Ashley young is uttered, the only thing that pops into my head, is the bird shitting in his mouth, during the game, and caught live, and in close up on his face. Brilliantly directed by the TV director.
This guy does not age.
Not talented as some other big names but a top professional. Always kept his head down and played for the badge.
Sir Alex 🙏
Young and Valencia is our wingers Bruno. No matter how close they dribble, they will pass to the strikers.
Ashley Young is the ultimate professional and so would never want to blame the manager for a terrible performance. He’d want to take responsibility as a player.
thats not really good if managers do get things wrong though is it?
What United need aren't new manager or new players, what they really need is a new set of Howard Webbs
Yup.... And Inoes is doing EXACTLY THAT!!!!!
Womp womp
Ashely Young looks young
Good stuff
Jose finished 2nd and might've won a trophy or two maybe when he was there. In hindsight can remember united doing that well since Ferguson.
Young in his prime = better than saka will ever be. Remember this all you saka glazers
Fax😂😂😂😂 these modern kids don't wanna hear
Jawohl Palace 😊👍⚽️
Wasted at man u, his ceiling at villa was so high. Rarely you see a mix of skill and determination like his. Him and zaha would have terrorised teams for years under fergie
He just joined too late. He was never top top class, but he got a league winner medal, league and FA Cup and a Europa League. That pretty good for a player of his standard and what did Zaha go on to do?
@@ste4392 did you see young in his last two seasons at villa and zaha in hs seasons when he rejoined palace? 🤨 my point stands
@@solshieldsAt villa he was world class
Top player
He was hinting at players down tooling and not playing as hard as they should be
talk to keane about fergusons man mangement skills and you might get a different answer than the sunshine and rainbows you are getting from ashley here.
3:05 - "I didn't need telling what to do, I just needed an arm around my shoulder like 'right son, this is what you need to do'"
Ashley Young, 2024.
Back when United had Fergi and Howard Webb..Back when things were going according to Howard Webb scripts
Womp womp
HowardWebb was way more of a Chelsea fan but no one says anything.
But maybe because MartinAtkinson was a ridiculously blatant Chelsea fan and still no one said much about that.
Sky is in love with Manchester United
Will the day ever come when Sky doesn't spend every minute talking about the 'good aul days' at United
With these two, Young and Ferguson how could United fail? Young diving and Fergy intimidating the refs into giving the penalty. What a team.
Never forget that goal against Arsenal
There are deep things he wants to say but it looks like he can’t do that to protect the image of the club 😂
They are incapable to adapt or just didn't want to and what he means united way that was Alex way now they should have adapt to other managers way but they were too comfortable with Alex ....that's why we want another long-term manager like pep and now arsenal with arteta
Ashley is old now but looks young..
Luke young was a top player could defend but also get forward I have fond memories of him as a united fan !!!
He was asked to comment on all managers barring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was hands down the second best manager, Utd have had since Ferguson. S.. sports, definitely serving there own agenda- as JC was so negatively vocal during Ole managerial period.
The more I hear about Sir Alex the more I think he didn’t really do any tactics . Carra always asks about it and never gets a decent answer. Perhaps Fergie just told them to go out and win
Mourinho the best ever
Bruno & co in 2040:
“There were crying emojis on Instagram”
Also, not wanting Jose because it's not "the man united way" is pretty dumb. I guess challenging for and winning trophies just wasn't the way?
IMO I think that there's a lot of BS spoken about SAF and how good he was, and his man management skills etc?
He was very, very lucky or fortunate at Man utd and being kept on. I remember the '80's and the early '90's very very well. He won nothing at utd for about 4/5yrs and was close to the sack. I think it took him 7 or 8 yrs as manager before he won the EPL? Leeds won the 1st EPL and SAF signed Cantona from Leeds at the end of the season and next season utd won the EPL and without Cantona they wouldn't of won it? Fact
You didn't need tactical insights becuz Howard Webb had your backs
Howard mate, get off of TH-cam and enjoy your retirement.
Howard webb was balling his eyes out
man hasnt aged!
Ash was disrespected by our fans, in a time when he was one of the only ones giving their all every game.
Players not giving as much as they could…. Can easily guess that he’s referring to pogba there. As well as many others.
If the second half of the season was the start of the season United would have been 4th from bottom
what did Carra say at 0:05 cuz I didn't get that joke
Back when dis-United weren’t an utter shambles ……
always remember when ashley young scored them 2 identical goals against arsenal when we hammered them 8-2, probably going to be the other way round this weekend though hahaha bring back mourinho for redemption....
ARSENAL WILL WIN REGARDLESS TO WHAT UNITED DO NEXT 😢
I want a time machine. Where's the Tardis 😂😂😂
This guy just doesn’t sound how I expected him too 😂😂
