I wouldn’t say that they’re not evil, but the Empire did fixed the corruption of the Republic’s political system and provided law and order to the galaxy by stationing stormtroopers as a police force.

I think those who say that are also inclined in the conclusion that Star Wars is a political film. In other words, the archetype of the “good vs evil” trope in Star Wars is more of a point of view that is influenced by the propaganda of only one side of the story. Sure, I don’t agree with everything that the CIS or the Galactic Empire’s actions; but that doesn’t makes the Republic and the Jedi Order saints. I mean, if the politicians really did care, wouldn’t Naboo already have at least a stationed garrison to provide as defense and a police force to serve as an aid to the planet rather than having the planet to solely rely on their inhabitants garrison which is relevant in the film “The Phantom Menace”? Also, the Jedi Counsel did warned Anakin about his relationship with Palpatine due to him being a “politician.” Besides, I don’t think it is ethical to take very young children away from their parents to join a religious philosophical coup that provided training for war and diplomacy simply because they were born with magical powers.
@@kingjimmycraftofcalderonia2017 I was more thinking about the whole force related stuff, but if he meant just the politics then he's does have a point
@@tomriddler1926 Well, even the rules of the Jedi Order is questionable. Taking children away from their parents for training their magical powers is one thing, but also forbade them to visit or mention their family because doing so will “inflict emotions such as fear that may bring you to the dark side.” Sounds something like a dictatorship would do. Also, what’s wrong with marriage that the Jedi are not allowed to do? These rules to “prevent the path of the Dark Side” seems like a traumatic experience in terms of development, which is evident in the scene where the only time Anakin visits his mother again in secrete just simply to find her dead in your hands. Ouch. His reaction is very relatable, as the rules of the Jedi Counsel prevented him to visit his slaved mother made him very frustrated that his secret voyage was also the last time he was going to see her (which also affected his physiology in fear of losing his secrete wife that the counsel has no idea of).

How does anyone think that there's no evil in Star Wars
They killed Luke’s aunt and uncle.

That's no more evil than the german final solution, that is to say, a perfectly reasonable and acceptable reaction to subversive rebels.
Because it was full of terrorists
