For those coming to this all these years later, your musicians are Jon Lord (Organ) and Rick Wakeman ( Synthesisers, and other assorted keyboards), accompanying them are Murray Gould (lead guitar), Micky Moody (rhythm guitar), Jerry Brown (drums) and Nick Fyffe (bass). Brilliant keys from both of they as you'd expect. Sadly Jon passed almost exactly a year later. RIP Jon Lord.
Fantastic Jam. I've been fortunate to see both these Gents in concert over the years. But I have to give major credit to the drummer - I think he did a great job of supporting the music and setting up the call and response whilst at the same time putting his own style across.
I cannot believe how incredibly great these guys are/were. True virtuosos from a bygone era where individual talent meant something. The drummer is also awesome with his driving beat. Powerful. Amazing. Otherworldly. As an amateur keyboardist, I am truly humbled.
Well, as you know Mr LORD has played classical organ pieces in churches before reaching that level. Bach and all the rest of it are no mysteries for him...
Two great mates having a great time together, and that's what this music lark is all about, and should anyone ever ask what you mean by a piece of music having "great energy," play them this
I always though of Wakeman as "classical rock" and John Lord being more a blues rocker - but Lord is the one who has the chord chart in front of him and who holds up a few fingers to cue everybody else. 2 masters - and great to see how energetic they each were still.
Both are fantastic. The sound of Jon Lord's B3 is incomparable. Wakeman is a phenomenal progressive keyboard player and I adore him BUT but Lord is the Grand Master of rock organ. He does more simple things but, who else sounds like him?
Wakeman really is brilliant, and so is Jon , such different sounds and styles...So disappointed Rick and Keith Emerson never recorded together. But Jon Lord and Rick Wakeman together is such a musical treat
@@claudio130 For sure but he is full on fusion, and there are many great fusion keyboard players, in fact too many to mention. No, I was thinking of rock/prog keyboard players, and Brian Auger certainly strayed into that style with his work both in the 60s and 70s.
@@fusionfan6883 agree. But sometimes is hard to draw very precise boundaries when it comes to skills across styles or music genre. I have a special place in my heart for all these monsters.
As noted by 'fusion fan' here, Brian Auger was intergral to the British keyboard scene, both as a pianist and as a Hammond player. Jon Lord said he learned everything from Auger. Somewhat ironically, Auger only picked up on the Hammond after filling in on a Georgie Fame gig, when he arrived to find an organ. Interestingly, he had a similar situation when he showed up to play keys on the Yardbirds' 'For Your Love'. Apparently all that was available was a harpsichord.
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂,, MERCI INFINIMENT PHiL et CHESTER AINSI Que. MIKE sans oublier ce. Super. AMEN. !!!!!
I came for the 2 keyboard aces; and it really takes off when they finally let Wakeman out of the cage, and the two start trading off. But I got to say my favorite moment is at 1:33, when the drummer whacks that snare for the change.
Superb instrumental, really breathtaking, not a duel, but close coöperation, as we all wish the superpowers of this Earth could embark upon, to achieve similar top results. I wouldn't call it a "jam session" however, it is clearly not spontaneous playing, Lord and probably the drummer using sheet music.
Yep...superb jam from the greatest modern key players...yes...they use sheet music...but only some chords are written on the sheet! They follow some chords and let flow the improvisations on these chords...:=))

Yeah, the drummer was all over this one and did a fantastic job. I got tired just watching him. what a great performance!
I'm 65 yo, and follow these guys since I was young, and still never tired to listen them again and again.
Two of the finest rock keyboard players in history simply being great, and loving every moment. mutual respect and love.
And THAT, boys and girls, is what we called TALENT!!
AND "MUSIC"!
Good grief this is fantastic!
Impresionante !!!! Claudio desde Rìo Gallegos Patagonia Argentina
Two Masters , in the same place and the same right time for an amazing solo.
Incredible and maybe historical. To be and to be. That is the Answer!

@nebula393It is - you've got to REALLY want to do it.
Well, as you know Mr LORD has played classical organ pieces in churches before reaching that level. Bach and all the rest of it are no mysteries for him...
I do not know much about Rick Wakeman. He has fat, short fingers and Lord has got long hands, long thin fingers. They are equivalent technically.
Having fun answering each other...
Rick Wakeman has very LONG fingers!!!
You can see the fun they had...amazing. I love what they are doing...great music.
Two legends, RIP LORD
Two of three the greatest keyboard musicians in rock history. The third one is Keith Emerson.
Yes. ELP
I love Manzarek too...
Don’t forget Tony Banks!
And Jimmy Smith.Jimmy Smith influenced Keith Emerson.
Holy Crap! That was Awesome ! Eargasm!!
Not just a battle of musical geniuses, but the mighty Minimoog D and Hammond B3. It doesn't get any more powerful than this.
the only one missing is Keith Emerson

moog vs hammond...what a sonic delight!!!!
Duas lendas dos teclados.

Two keyboard gods from different genre. Awsome collaboration!
Not different Genres

Out of this world, including drums and guitar

Lance Armstrong was definitely influenced by Jon Lord.
Look him up.
Airey does the job
And what about Wakeman’s Moog sound? Fantastic!
@@PabloSaavedra84 He is the only one to sound so good with it! 100% agree.
Very simple things of course...

I have to add Brian Auger to that list if I may🤘🏻

Thank you
Had no idea about this collaboration
Sounds like Lord's gain is much higher than Wakeman's. What do you think ?
Monster of rock!!!!!!
If you drove your car while listening to this you would lose your licence for certain !!
