It's been often said that Karen has the voice of an angel but to me, her sound is exquisitely human - warm, alive and deeply authentic. Indeed, it is the voice of the heart.
Still watching this great tribute! 3-2-23 Today. Happy 73rd Birthday Karen! We will always Celebrate You!Love You and Miss You! Thank You for posting this!
Karen is the best female singer of my lifetime. Her voice is so rich and distinctive. It’s been 35 years since her untimely death, and the ache of losing her is still very much present in my heart. Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I absolutely loved it.
This is terrific!! So glad you shared it with us. Brings back so many memories!! Was 13 years old when CARPENTERS first hit it big. I'm 65 now and still listening...
RIP our one and only Karen! Thank you again for this fabulous variety of so many treasured photos and the great voicesthat still resonate ever clearly through the years! What an unmatched exceptional legacy of music! They continue lovingly in our hearts!
Huge huge loss! There is no replacement on so many levels.I was lucky to be there since day one.Nice to see new generations loving Karen and The Carpenters.
The Carpenters bring me back to High School, I love the memories of the 70s and growing up with the Carpenters at our High School dances, and on my girl friends stereo! I only wish life was as it was back then!
Ahhh! Me too! I listened to an interview recently and Richard said that just about all of the letters they received said they thought of Karen as a friend.I hope Karen was here when those letters were read.
This video is simply beautiful. It brings back many good memories to all those who were alive during the 1970's. A decade of fun and exploration for young adults, the photos here of long hair, bell bottoms and the Carpenters are just pure joy to me.
The photo of Karen and Richard looking to the side at the top of the steps, was an interesting one to me. That was from the first album cover shoot, and I think it should have been used for the first album cover. Why they didn’t use it on the first album cover, I’ll never understand. Maybe Herb was not yet all that involved in their career yet. Why they chose the album cover photo they used with Karen holding the fake sunflower is baffling to me. I guess you could call it good ole corny and goofy goody four shoes image making. Could it have been Jerry Moss, The I Love Rock N Roll Guy, who chose that photo? It is the only thing that makes sense to me, after seeing a better photo from the same shoot being passed over. And you know, the two photos, were probably side by side, when they chose the other corny one for the album cover. What were they thinking? A lot of things like that happened during The Generation Gap Years. Ed Sullivan only showed the back side of it in a music contest tv show. I’m sure Richard Carpenter had something to do with that.
Wonderful video. It just hit me that Billie Eillish and her brother Phineas share some of The Carpenters dynamics. She is the special voice and he is the arrangement genius.
Absolutely splendid video!! Oh my yes, i am happy that their music is still popular. Such goals of perfection surely paid off, so very unfortunate that she had such a disease. So sad she’s not with us though!
A lovely lady and the most beautiful voice i have ever heard, they were such a great and talented group but karen was gone to soon. I loved loved their music as many other people did as well. Music like this is very rare. I will never forget this group.
Very nice compilation. Thank you for uploading. Karen is a beautiful soul with a beautiful voice. Seems that she is very happy when playing the drums. Richard is a musical genius.
Love those pics!!!!! Some, I have never seen before. I can only imagine the records they would have cut had she not left us too soon. The love never changes though. Beautiful l blend of songs.
Her life in pictures...her life, as ours, is a vapor, here for only a moment..,then vanishes...may we have even a small impact on those we love as she has had on those who love her...
What a nice job with this video. Still so hard to believe how young she was, and all she accomplished. She still had a lot more to offer especially in TV. The cameras just absolutely loved her. She always seemed to be a natural at it too. Richard, not so much. Her ending was very tragic. Hard to imagine the pain and loneliness she was feeling. In the end, ya kinda think she knew, and that’s why she happen to stay at her parents that last night?? In the end, Karen finally felt what she longed for from mother.....she wanted to have that full attention and not being set aside, as 2nd best to Richard.....in that final moment, she finally felt what she had always truly longed for........so I have to believe. In that moment Karen knew she could RIP. Karen, you are so loved and missed very much!! 💜💜💜
I have thought about something similar. If you remember, she was to sign her divorce papers the afternoon that she died. Perhaps she dwelled much of the night on the failure of her marriage and the huge disappointment in not having children in her future. Totally sad that what she longed for most was most elusive in her life. She literally may have died of a broken heart. 💔 🙏
I wish I had a. Time machine I would go back in time and bring karen back to our time to raise the vibration of planet earth . something that it despertly needs.
Aurora - seldom heard but so so gorgeous! That song brought me to 😢 tears in the minute & 1/2 it lasted. Listening to her is like a glimpse of Heaven 💖
I don't know why Karen and Richard were not equal cause they were a team some say The mother treated Richard better than Karen. come on. they are not in competition each other.. both were very talented.
In different ways they certainly were. Richard was an incredible composer, and Karen was the most phenomenal female vocalist there ever was. They both had gifts of their own that the other didn't have...but when you put them together, it was out of this world. Simply stunning.
@@hiseagle So true. Imagine, this was before autotune. If she had lived I could see them selling out Las Vegas night after night, year after year. They would have been one of the hottest acts in Vegas.
Karen Carpenter is, by far, the best female singer ever...there will never be another like her. Rest in peace, we miss you. ❤️
Truly … the voice of an Angel.
Still as good in 2023 as it was in yesteryear.
The best singer of all time
For sure!
By far!
I'll second third and forth that.
Absolutely!

The voice of a goddess!
I think that's exactly what they were saying. ❤

These are great pictures of them.
CarpentersRetro, you did a great job. Thanks. The only problem is, you've made me cry so hard, making my face a total mess again.
Wish karen life was not the way it was. She had so much more to give. This among made me cry.

Speaking of things in Portuguese, oh how I wish Carpenters had done a Jobim album. KC singing that languid Brazilian jazz would have been heavenly.
@@stevetournay6103 it would have made us Brazilians so proud! 😊❤

Great tribute...she sings in heaven and Angel's love it.
The last song is *Aurora* , by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis

Karen Carpenters de beatiful voice
Does anyone know what song(s) she preformed with all the children on stage? I've never seen that before and it looks awesome.
Hi Terry !. The song is "SING" . You can see here , in Setlist, Karen sing in japanese

I'd like to think death will always be everyone's destiny. Though unfortunately for Karen. That was her destiny.
今年还有人在听凯伦的歌吗?
Which house was that she spent Christmas in 1982 with Mush?
Is there really no way we could bring Karen Carpenter back 😭
