Her death and the people around her deciding to be open and honest about the true cause of her untimely demise, saved my life. I was 18 and had been starving myself since I was 13. she died because someone said she was fat. She wasn’t but yet they said it, hurt her feelings and caused all this. She fell into that trap and couldn’t get out. We lost a beautiful person with a lovely charming voice. I loved their sound and still enjoy it today.
She wasn’t estranged from her mother. Over the years it seems as though their mother daughter relationship may have become toxic in ways. She was at her parents home because she and her mother were going to go shopping to get Karen a new washer and dryer for her condo.
Why did they show a pic of the Three’s Company cast? That makes no sense.
--- The videographers don't give a crap about Karen. They're just playing you for a fool. But then again, so is TH-cam.
I will love her forever, she's still the best and most beautiful female singer and drumer
She died in her mothers home, they were not estranged.
Love her forever ❤😢
I had a big crush on Karen. I pictured myself married to her even at age of 17. 🥰
It was her mom‘s fault for never giving her love. That is so sad.
How could she lose 91 lbs. by 1975 ? The video says she weighed 120 lbs., then lost 20 and wanted to lose 5 more. Did you mean 19 lbs? This doesn't make sense.
She had a voice like a angel
She was one of those girls who excelled at everything she did
How could Karen lose 91 pounds? I've never seen a photo in which she appeared anything but slender.
Amazing drummer, amazing voice like honey 🍯. Very sad .
I don't know who Franklin, Heather, and Karen E. Carpenter are? These three names are shown on the headstone at the end of this. Karen Ann Carpenter's dates are not 1955 - 2012. Kind of strange to include this photo.
She WAS NOT estranged from her mother. OMG. She died whilst staying with her.
Weird way to end a video. Just abrupt without a few kind, parting words. Grew up with the Carpenters and they'll always be apart of my childhood soundtrack. RIP, Karen. Gone too soon...
She longed for the love of her mother. Tragic.
--- That's not even Karen's tombstone at the end of the video. What a sloppy posting.
She was the Carpenters, Richard plays the piano! Not many albums after their skinny star left us! Don't outshine your brother!
Karen Carpenter did not stay with the group the Ramones, lol…she stayed with her producer, Phil Ramone and his wife Karen Ichiuji, whom Karen nicknamed Itchy. They were very good friends.
her mother sounded just awful and Im being kind RIP Karen You deserved better Thanks for the music
I blame her mother and Richard. Richard sounds like Mama's boy. If it wasn't for Karen's voice. There would never be any carpenters. Let her stay with playing drums.
I feel anger towards her mother for not loving and supporting her. The woman was obviously disturbed about herself to feel that way about her daughter. She caused Karen's death. I hope she realizes it. Karen had the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. How sad!
I am reading little girl blue which has some very interesting tid bits about her Journey.
I agree...her mother and the pressure of Hollywood!
The mother sounds evil, and beyond 'controlling'. :( Hope the mother ultimately realized that her selfishness and narcissism and cruelty caused her daughter's death.
She was a superb drummer. A drummer's drummer!
So she weighed 30 lbs? No way
This was an incredibly tragic story! I tell you, parents need to " be" loving to all there children or the aftermath is disastrous!!!!
Her mother appeared on “THIS IS YOUR LIFE” show and that showed who she was! Could not hide her miserable self!
Superstar and A Song For You are mine!✌️
