HBO Deadwood actors Q&A at the Bullock Hotel

- On June 24, 2005, eleven HBO Deadwood actors held a question and answer session at the Bullock Hotel following a photo shoot in the street during their visit to the real Deadwood, SD. They are:
* Robin Weigert (Calamity Jane)
* Paula Malcomson (Trixie)
* W. Earl Brown (Dan Dority)
* Jim Beaver (Ellsworth)
* Sean Bridgers (Johnny Burns)
* Titus Welliver (Silas Adams)
* Peter Jason (Con Stapleton)
* Richard Gant (Hostetler)
* Franklin Ajaye (Samuel Fields, The N*gger General)
* Pasha D. Lychnikoff (Russian telegraph operator Blazanov)
* Monty "Hawkeye" Henson (Silas Adams' henchman Hawkeye)
Calamity Jane was in there because the background of the show is mostly based on reality and real characters and she was one of the best known real characters in the real Deadwood. Her grave is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Deadwood. And Robin Weigert, who played her on the show, was nominated for an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2004 for her role so she must have been doing something right.
Robin Weigert's performance as Calamity Jane was a major highlight from me. Every time she was onscreen, she was so ornery that I would just crack up the whole time. Tears streaming.
Calamity Jane is one of the best and most uniquely acted characters in the show

everyone here is right... deadwood shoulve gone onto a 4th+ season... the wire, sopranos and dexter are all great... deadwood is my personal fav and i dont think other great ones like sopranos / the wire / dexter etc can compare on an intellectual and emotional level
This was great I visited everyone and Titus is just so friendly and Paul oustanding personality. Jim, Hawkeye funny as can be. Brown just makes every one feel at ease. Big bear hugs. Holstedler and Little General I had great time visting with them. Calamity was very polite and fun to be around very pretty women. I want to get my photos up along with the concerts put on with Brown Sacred Cowboys and John Hawkins. Those two are the best dudes you could ever hope to me. And Titus is good looking.

I just watched all three seasons recently within a week and a half. I cannot express how upset I am at how they ended the show. It was clearly meant to go on through a fourth season. We have no resolution at all to several plot lines. I am a huge fan of shows like The Wire and The Sopranos, Rome, 24, LOST, but none come even close to comparing to DeadWood. Really sucks they fucked it up.
I hope by now you've seen the movie, it tied up alot of loose ends.

I did not expect to see Deadwood cosplay going on.
+PrezPendejo Those are re-enactors hired by the city of Deadwood to walk around town and portray some of the characters Deadwood is known for -- Calamity Jane, Wild Bill, Charlie Utter, etc. They also take part in the re-enactment of the shooting of Wild Bill, which takes place every evening in Saloon #10 throughout the summer, and results in (fake) gunplay as Jack McCall tries to escape.
It seems like it just came out a cpl years ago, i cant believe it been 20 years now. I feel weve had a ttime lapse or something.

Calamity Jane's character was annoying but necessary,and she got better as the season went on.She is supposed to make you cringe.
Yeah and I have no idea why they never finished this. Criminal and a crying shame.

@cheaptrades The greatest of all time is very subjective. Sopranos wouldn't even make my top 10. Deadwood would definitely make my top 10 as would Lost and BSG. I want to rent the Wire - I've heard so many good things about it
