So, what's the difference between 'stop buying' and 'stop to buy'? Why not also check out this other video with people talking about shopping? th-cam.com/video/X5qiBigtc8w/w-d-xo.html
Stop buying you completelt stop and stop to but means you stop whatever you are doing and go buy something and then continue with whta you were doing before. :-)
Hello, Sian! Hello, guys! That's Agapi from Greece! I have just watched this video and I am excited from your teaching! You have turned this difficult topic into an easy and comprehensible lesson!!! Thank you a lot! Have my appreciation! The best wishes...
Dear Sian, I appreciate very much your video lessons, they´re great! You and your colleagues have this fun way of getting things across to us !well done! I lived in London once .how many times I walked past the BBC studios.
Also the verb remember. I remember doing homework after lunch. (I remember when I used to do homework after lunch) I remember to do homework after lunch. (I remember I have homework to do after lunch)
I forgot watching Sian's great lesson for words that changes its meaning depending on which one is followed gerund or infinitive even it's less than one minutes after I watched it. but hopefully I don't forget to watch Sian's lesson again and again even though I'll forget watching it again.
In this example stop takes the gerund as an object, so it answers the questions *What* stops? The to-infinitive in this case is an adverb of purpose, (in order) to buy a coffee. It answers the question *Why* did you stop it?
I’ve stopped by to see if I could learn some difference in use between the gerund and infinitive. Regretting now not have done it before. Come to think of it, now I can go on and try to use them properly after this enlightening video. Thanks for the upload! 👏🏻😊
I forgot doing my Homework means I had to do it in the past but I didn't do it and I forget to do my homework means that I used to forget to do it every time
An excellent question! It could be either! It might mean 'at this time' or 'in general'. Only the context will help. For example: John was being noisy but I made a face at him and he stopped singing. (At that moment) Sarah was tired of being in a band. She announced one day that she would stop singing. (in life - as a career) And there will be many other examples. Context is everything!
Can anyone help here? In British English, is that ok to say "go to get a book." or "go get a book"? Which one is right or both of them are ok? Many thanks!
The correct form is "go to get a book". This is what we would use in writing and the form which is grammatically correct. However, in spoken English and in informal situations, people may say "go get a book". 👍

Music in this video is brilliant! :) Sian is awesome :) however, I couldn't get the difference for some examples
In this example stop takes the gerund as an object, so it answers the questions *What* stops?
The to-infinitive in this case is an adverb of purpose, (in order) to buy a coffee. It answers the question *Why* did you stop it?
Very helpful!Thank you.

Thanks! It is interesting!
You're welcome!

I like Sian so much that I cannot hear what she is talking to. 🌹
Groovy.
Mam one confusing, if I have to tell, that he stopped singing, it means it stopped singing forever or, at particular time, can we use in both case
An excellent question! It could be either! It might mean 'at this time' or 'in general'. Only the context will help. For example:
John was being noisy but I made a face at him and he stopped singing. (At that moment)
Sarah was tired of being in a band. She announced one day that she would stop singing. (in life - as a career)
And there will be many other examples. Context is everything!
A British accent is so beautiful and easier than an American accent.
