Now you see how Viktoriya cleaned out those troops earlier in the card game winning all the booze for the battalion, even playing cards with her guys she gets 4 aces and the joker. Once again Tanya is her own worst enemy, after writing the proposal for the rapid response unit she got tapped as the commanding officer. Now she researches a new combined forces Kamfgruppe and who gets tapped as the commander?
- The priest at the beginning is Professor Schugel, the mad scientist that invented Tanya's computational jewel, as well as the supersonic rockets they used near the end of season one. - The Russi Federation sent all their mages to internment camps simply because they fear and/or envy their powers.
The same thing happened during the Soviet era when they pretty much purged all their scientists and intellectuals to the gulags. Literally shooting their foot for no real reason outside of fear of uprising

Mary Sioux is exactly the kind of "never my fault" personality that I hate in real people, and love to hate about villains in fiction. Tanya killed her father? She's a demon, obviously! The 203rd killed enemy combatants in the middle of an intense firefight? How evil! The hypocrisy is just hilarious, especially when you realize she apparently doesn't understand the fact that *_her home country_* started the war. Not the Empire. The Entente Alliance dropped their trousers to show off how big their "sword" is, and got smacked for it, and instead of just accepting they were wrong they called in the Francs, Allied Kingdom, and even the Unified States because "waah, the Empire hit meeee!" Of course, Mary isn't alone in her delusion. Everyone in the world except those in the Empire (and those in power, who _choose_ to blame the Empire regardless) think that the Empire is the big bad evil guy for _daring_ to protect his property. It'd be like SWATing old man Jenkins for yelling at a kid to get off hi lawn. And while this is about 50% human nature in truth, the other 50% is Being X directly fueling the fire. Mary just has the unfortunate fate of being a rage-filled machine hell-bent on revenge, while also triple boosted by Being X to be even stronger and even less sane than Tanya could ever be. She's a complete berserker, and it's honestly kinda sad and pathetic.
Welcome to the new trial of tanya.... Being X sends her to this world's version of "Enemy at the gates" in (not)Stalingrad. Tanya cannot help being an overachiever. What could have been 30 seconds over Tokyo turns into a complete roasting and tea bagging.... And she got permission first then she went the extra mile. Mary got the Being X dog in her and "I aint hear no bell" energy. And of course, after all, is said and done, tanya gifts the empire with another upgrade: Full twenty first century combined arms warfare. Kampfgruppe Salamander.
That beam is the size and power of a damned Spaceship Gun. you fire that thing once in athmo and in an ideal world a special hell opens up, waiting for you.
Loria (the pedo) is based on a real person, Lavrentiy Beria, who was Stalin's most influential police chief. He conducted purges similar to what was done to the Federation mages, and was also a notorious sexual predator to the point where Stalin wouldn't allow his daughter to be alone with him. Just as in this movie, Beria would ride around in a limo looking for victims. Loria also happens to be a play on words -- Loli-a.
In real life stalin also had all the land owning farmers, who resisted moving to and working on collective farms, purge, imprisoned or exiled in one way or another. Leading to one of the worst cases of famine in history. That entire debacle was about as smart as purging all mages.
And Deus Ex Machina/Deus lo Vult. Quite literally, Being X interfered to keep Mary alive. Whether you believe it was an active, in-the-moment interference, or due to her being Blessed depends on whether you consider the manga canon to the anime or not.
just gotta love the full on disrespect of making a propaganda vid in the capital of teh enemy. like CJ Dachamp puts its it's disrespect on an other level to make a music video under the nose of your enemy.
Tanya in her previous life was educated at the Chicago University. He's a diehard capitalist so for her communism is literally a sin.
As it should be

49:16 She got shivers on her spine, cause you know, cosmic forces because of comrade Loria.

Commies are all about equality and to the bone. They simply hate anything going out of bounds and rules. They hate difference.

In any other scenario Mary would be dead. Tanya did the right thing going for the center of mass. But magic and stuff.
