  • Always looking for ways to restore, recycle, or repurpose things, this upcycle of plastic bottles fits in with my goals, sort of...While I enjoyed doing this and will do it more with various other plastic bottles in our life my hope is I will continue to find alternatives to ever having the plastic in the first place. I will be buying shampoo and conditioner bars (any recommendations are welcome) in our future. But beyond that we are still encountering other items in plastic containers and sure they have recycling triangles on them, but we are faced with a recycling system that doesn’t keep up with our consumption. Not to mention in most cases only items with a 1 in them actually get recycled.
So don’t be surprised if there aren’t more videos from the Asking Spot attempting to recycle or repurpose plastic. Would love to see how creative you get with air dry clay and reused plastic.
Note: I used two different colors of the same regular air-dry clay and then one package of porcelain air dry clay. As I was filming this, I didn’t look at the weight of the packages, so I thought the porcelain was only a couple dollars more. It wasn’t until editing that we realized the porcelain air-dry clay was sold in 1.1 lb (500 gram) packages while the regular (grey or white) air-dry clay is sold in 2.1lb packages. Much bigger price difference. But likewise, a big difference in results.
