Yes! That's where the outreach calls come in. For me it was such an important lifeline. There are so many people who do get it. Talking to those who don't has been deflating for me at times. But I get it. They have their own experience and it is different than mine. Susan's level of understanding, compassion and love is so healing💗💗💗🤗🤗🤗
I been binge eating for almost 40 years and as I started intermittent fasting and then once I did a 7 day fast, I was able to have a reset and change my life. This amount or longer of a fast makes your “will” so strong.. When you are addicted, if you love life, you just have to get fed up with your life so much that your will takes over. But you also have to love life and yourself, or you won’t find yourself worthy of the change that you truly deserve. Love to anyone seeing or reading these words! You are Blessed
Much love back to you. I’m glad you were able to help yourself. I’ve been intermittent fasting, but I want to go longer. Can you tell me what your 7-day fast looked like? Did you have to prep for it? Did you drink anything other than water?
@@drawitout Thank you. I did well, as far as my energy and mental state. I did prep for it because I was intermittent fasting for quite a few months prior too and so it wasn’t as hard in my system. I drank water, strait coffee, and strait tea. I also would put lemon juice in my water here and there and also acv. I consumed salt once a day, as well as magnesium and I didn’t have any potassium supplement, but I will next time. I ate avocado to break my fast and then I waited an hour before eating a reasonable meal of a lean grass fed burger. I felt I was pretty safe from refeeding syndrome, considering I had been taking salt. Next time I will exercise more throughout the fast and do a harder workout at the very end before I eat
After watching this amazing interview of this high energy and honest soul, the first thing came in my mind is HOW MANY DIAMONDS are lost in that dust of drugs and addiction who never had that moment of self awareness hit to them or they didn’t take in charge of that voice. I can’t imagine how much strong 💪🏼 she is mentally who conquered that phase of her life. Praying to each and everyone out there who may see this and can change their lives too. 🙏🏽
51 and have battled food addiction throughout my whole life. This is honestly THE BEST podcast I have ever heard on the subject. I’m excited to dive into Susan’s audiobooks I just found. Thank you Lewis for asking perfect questions, fantastic interview. You’re the best!
Over the last ten years I've come down from 317 very depressed addicted to carbs sugar to 222. It has taken all I have to keep going. Not perfect. I know my triggers now. I wish I'd known 50 years ago about low carb and high value greens. Im still going. I am not going to die in my early 70s when my mother died at 96.
This podcast is the answer to my prayer for help. So much truth. Once the junk is out of my system , I can say no to it but like a drink to an alcoholic , one bite is too many and a thousand are not enough .
This is why I stopped associating with friends that only meet to eat and drink. I changed to meet with those that want to dance, walk, or hike or do an activity first and eat something sensible besides just eating and sitting tasty huge food instant choices.
I find her to be very vague (serving size vs grams??? How many grams in a serving???) and uses general terms, basically selling a product that really is nothing new. She is saying eat a variety of foods with high nutritional value in moderation, no refined flour or sugar, and move your body. Not that I disagree with her but nothing new. Relax and learn what your body is telling you. Typically eat a little and move a lot. BTW: Isn’t honey a natural form of pure sugar that natives and animals binge on regularly?
This sounds like my stepdaughter. She was an addicts. She gained 50+ pounds in less than a year. She was a drug, alcohol, and sex addicts. She has many body counts and i am scared of STDs for her but i cannot stop her from having sex with all her male friends. She so irresponsible. I hope she wakes up. I am helping her but i am exhausted doing all the work and she isnt lifting a finger to make efforts.
OMG I cannot describe how I am resonating with you Susan!!! Food Addiction is the worst. People just need to realise that you need your drug to survive!!!! I'm struggling with giving up the Carbs (Pasta, Oats, breakfast cereal). The people telling you it is healthy you should do it, is the worst!!!! Thank you for being Vocal about it!!!
I woke up from a nap with this playing, and it was exactly what I needed to hear to help me through a shockingly similar story of poly-addictions. What a brave, brilliant woman - thank you for your honestly, and your amazing work 🙏🏻
Me, too. I fell to sleep and woke up with this playing. I have found intermittent fasting and keto, but this may be the additional needed element. I keep losing 20 lbs, am disciplined for a few months, fall off, then gain it back. I'm at 10 lbs back this time. I have a brightline already for meditation. I'm feeling hopeful.
I had a spiritual awakening 3+years ago and am in recovery, I totally get what she’s saying sugar is in everything. I realized shortly after that yes I was also addicted to carbs and sugar. I am now doing a lifestyle of low carbs and that’s from fruit and veggies and no sugar. I will never drink again nor struggle with even thinking about it but I know this food thing will be some work on my part. When I go food shopping I take hours reading labels etc. I do care about what goes in my body! So, far I have healed my mind and body!
Been there, done that as a former but potentially future vegan. I avoid label reading by eating whole foods. I'm just too lazy to keep investing time in that. 😂
This is probably the best talk I've ever heard on food addiction. Dr. Thompson's story is fascinating to listen to, and the information is easily absorbed by the layman.
Wow!!! Thank you Lewis for featuring this incredible woman on your podcast! Susan's straightforwardness is exactly what's needed NOW more than ever. Hands down one of the most inspiring interviews I've ever seen! As an experienced fitness/nutrition pro, I agree with her on everything she discussed. The fact that she is none apologetic and clearly explains it all so everyone can easily digest the info, is what I admire. Lewis, you rock! Keep on shining! You bring tremendous and much needed information to the masses. Like I always say, I'm truly grateful. ❤🙏
@@lewishowes I've been trying to leave you a review but can't figure out where exactly to leave the review. I clicked the link you sent, but that just takes me to your page. It doesn't show where to leave the review.
It takes a lot of will power and self-control to hold back from eating sugar and fattening foods. I tried an experiment and didn't eat any sugar except for bananas (natural sugar) for 2 months and lost 20 lbs being almost under weight. But I felt good! When I took one little taste of jam (sugared), I was hooked on sugar again and within 2 years, gained 11 lbs back. The brain is a challenge with one wanting or not wanting food.
i have to watch videos like this constantly to feel sane. im 27 with a long history of food addiction. it has now gotten so much better through diligence and discipline, but being around people and family who just dont get it - with toxic addictive behavior - can easily make me slip back. i wish it wasnt a struggle. if anyone has advice on remaining strong amidst ignorant people, please let me know.
So hard if you are forced to be around people who negatively influence you, but try to surround yourself with friends, a group etc that have positive habits and support you. The more support you have the more you will be able to resist the negative influences of others around you. See the comment below too by Corpus Perez.
I’m 37 and have had decades of binge eating. Through the years I tried and failed miserably at getting healthy but I never gave up (even when I felt like I did). Deep in my heart and soul, I couldn’t accept living with making bad health choices. Since a little girl I experienced high anxiety which I believe catapulted the disorder in order to cope. Later the depression came and I took on more addictions (drinking alcohol, smoking & drugs). I lived like this for a long time but knew it wasn’t serving me any good. It was “comfortable” to indulge but then I would feel horrible after so I knew I was lying to myself. Similarly to you, I watched many many videos like this to gain knowledge about how to help myself. Always trust your intuition and you will find your way. Over time you will be secure in what you want for yourself and what feels good in your body and what doesn’t. The quality of food that’s available to us (fast food, processed food products, soft drinks etc) are highly palatable which makes our brain 🧠 get a high dopamine response which causes us to want more of it. It’s literally like a drug. We need to understand that all those foods are not real food!! It’s a lie to keep us consuming more products that line the pockets of these evil companies. You are worth living your best life , which means you’ll have to set your self apart from the masses (doing what everyone does) and taking charge of the decisions you make to live the life you will be happy and proud about. You will have to make it very clear with family about your convictions and what you stand for so it’s not a surprise to them about the lifestyle you’re choosing to live. Most people just want to go with the flow and partake in whatever is available. You will have to fight for what you want against people that claim to love you but still offer you things that don’t align with your values. I pray to God that he reveals what I need to know and courage to follow through with decisions that honor my body. Infinite love to you and blessings in all your endeavors ❤
I just wanna say that it is understandable and expected that you would falter around toxic/addicted people! That environment is actively working against your success, so it is always going to be 100x harder for you to recover as long as you're around them. My advice would be to do whatever you can to live apart from them and just visit occasionally.
Bright Line Eating changed my weight, control in my life, my health, and the principles spread to time management and my whole life. Susan Pierce Thompson is a very effective communicator and coach ❤
I am on day 15 no sugar or flour. I get waves of cravings here and there. I hope that I can become food neutral in the future. I’m going to stick to it one day at a time. I’m going to OA meetings online and got a sponsor
I'm actually following bright line eating and it took a good 5 weeks before my sugar/flour cravings subsided and I no longer felt hungry all the time. After 5 weeks I stopped thinking about food all the time. Bright line eating you really do only eat whole foods - no flour, dried fruit, smoothies or blended fruits, just whole fruit, whole grains, veggies, lean meats 3x per day. You can have small quanties of oil, salad dressing, butter, condiments if sugar is not listed in the top 3 ingredients. No snacking b/w meals, no sneaking a taste even while preparing the meal, sitting down and eating at the table w/o distraction. There are quantities/amount specifics too, but that is in more detail in the actual program. It's strict, but once you re-program your brain you really do stop obsessing about food, no more feeling h-angry if you happen to miss your meal time. You will find peace around food if you strict to it.
I've been a chronic dieter for 18 years. Smoked for about the same amount of time. I drank hard for about 15 years, and now that I've quit both smoking and drinking, I can say that junk food is definitely the hardest addiction I've tried to quit. I quit smoking and drinking cold turkey and never looked back. I start a diet and then binge constantly. It's been so hard to quit that vicious cycle so I'm starting this tomorrow. Bright line eating seems to help so many others so I pray it also works for me and my husband 🙏
Can I get more info on her? Why is there no link to more info on her work in Berkeley etc? She is so brutally honest. This was the most refreshing guest on your podcast.
This woman is amazing, incredibly brilliant. She explains complex issues so well. I love her! This helped me so much. Lewis Howes your success is hard earned!
Was addicted to Drugs for a long time..Clean now for 5yrs..And now struggle with sugar and carbs..Trying to work on the food thing...I have overcome so much. But now this.. I relate to this woman 💯💯💯.I'm 53yrs old...She's telling who iam to a point..
I love Susan! She knows the gratitude of all she went THROUGH! Has gotten her to these wonderful wisdoms!! It’s amazing what “the bottom” can do for us! Everything matters and nothing matters at the same time!
It’s like we know what we should eat but it’s so hard to just say NO! It’s crazy because I want to be healthy so bad, but temptation gets me all.the.time… 😢
What an inspirational interview and what an amazing person!!!! She has been through a lot yet she found a way to conquer all her troubles and now helping others.....thank you!!!!
@@lewishowes is there any other stuff she put out? I have so many addictions rn, and she's a huge inspiration for me, and I'd like to watch more of her or even zoom if possible!! I watched this 3x now, cause u keep getting interrupted and start it over to take notes..lol
When we have Emotional, mental deficiencies we use food, cigarettes, alcohol, drug, shopping ect.. to cope with pain or lack. We have to deal with those issues…Yass I’m waiting to hear her say it👏🏾👏🏾
Susan is wonderful...🌹 She is so candid and honest. I happened to come across this video because I have been trying to loose weight and have been watching TH-cam videos on the benefits of fasting... I thoroughly enjoyed everything Susan said. I am feeling very encouraged by what I learned here today. Great interview! Thank you both. 🤗
She's great, explains things SO WELL. I was a nutrition/dietetics student and could easily visualize what she was saying. I also appreciate her story sharing. She took her body and mind to some extremes and was genuine enough to talk about that journey. Excellent
Thank you, thank you, thank you … so much recognition. I was vegan for a long time, gluten free, stopped smoking and alcohol like 20 years ago, and still ... I didn't do the heavy drugs, but the test shows 7 ... Eating healthy (with sugar) but often too much ... and still consuming sugar ... This video is an great inspiration.
There is a lack of conversation among our relationship with food, and the psychological aspect of it and it's importance. (personally I have not come across many individuals that are aware of it), Thank you for this Lewis! ❤
Agree, our society is very bizarre when it comes to losing or gaining weight. We have to learn to respect the person's journey going through this and give them a listening ear cause it's tough when struggling with weight problems
I’m on day 56 of Bright Line Eating. I’ve lost more weight and gained more peace in the past month than all my 20 years of dieting combined. This is the secret guys!
Literally crying while listening. Thank you for acknowledging this as something real. And thank you for listening to your intuition and creating this help for '10's' like me.
Same here. I cried several times while watching this interview. I will certainly check the website and her book. Thanks Lewis for another special and life changing guest in your podcast. Great job!
Thank you for opening up about such an important issue. I struggle with food addiction and I know the pain and desperation that an individual goes through. Many people doesn't understand because I am a tiny person, but I know my struggles and what I go through. Most of the time, I'm just waiting to go home and get my food. I know that I have to address this issue, but is always an excuse.
No one...absolutely, no one can make the decision but You as to when and how your addiction must be addressed to reclaim your peace and control...prayer and support help but it is only you can really let go of the habit running and ruining your life..pray for strength and guidance...to achieve reaching the authentic you...blessings
Finally… someone has explained me to myself! I have had gastric stomach surgery to reduce my stomach size, done Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, weightless, starved, binged, had injections, tried intermittent fasting but get ridiculously hungry. Constantly crave food!
I totally understand you. I've done everything apart from surgery, lost 30+ pounds time after time only to regain it and more. Food and eating is constantly on my mind. I wake up determined to be good, go to bed in deep regret. I've now had issues with my knees and I know I must reduce my weight, so far I've lost 12lbs so feel a bit better. I've got 88lbs to go.....
The carnivore diet turned my food addiction off! I coupled that with a Glenn Livingston's TH-cam which is called Never Binge Again! 😊 Sounds similar to Bright Line in that there are food rules and no flour or sugar 🤔
Towards the end, when she talks about how the “little cheats” teach the brain to keep pestering for more, I remembered friends telling me I was ‘mean’ or ‘so good’ b/c I reared my children w/consequences for their behaviors. Were they obedient? No. Did they learn that their choices determined their outcome? Yes. Did they eventually make more thoughtful choices? Yes. I appreciate the reminder that when “I fail to plan, I plan to fail” and that when I love & respect myself, the best choices & behaviors follow.
6 yrs ago Bright line eating saved me health wise. My Bright line was low carbs (I know, Susan doesn't like that) . So no sugar, flours no high carb fruits, veg etc. Because the carbs push my buttons too, much. Now no diabetes, wt down 50+ lbs. But I realize I still have a problem with "sweet tastes". And I never reached my goal wt. I can't do the big veggies thing due to health issues, but so much of her plan resonates with me. I am never tempted by sugar/flour/carbs, that is no longer "food" to me. But maybe too much of my acceptable stuff. I guess I need to make my "brain go quiet". Welcome back to my life, Susan.
This is the episode I have been waiting for. I broke food addiction twice....TG , I am free again... never will go back... eat a high raw vegan diet... helping my depression... everything
I have food addiction and I eat a whole food plant based diet which is sustainable long term and the healthiest way to protect your body against heart disease and cancer. I don’t have to weigh or measure anything and I’m losing weight every week.
After Dr. Vera Tarman this is this interview my second time in my life where I could see the food as a real problem in (my) life. Thank you Dr. Thompson for your work
This is very helpful. I've struggled with comfort eating all my life to soothe anxiety and feeding the victim in me. I just realised my binge behaviour is triggered when around people. This is what I learned from a parent and also negative experiences I had as a child during meal times. So I think a combination of a disregulated nervous system and the powerful effect of food mostly sugar that triggers innate metabolic functions my body is in a constant state of fat storage.
Incredible that she seems to interpret what my brain is doing. The donut example is SO ACCURATE. The need for the "donut" is thru the roof and then "eating it" brings a sad realization that i am SO not satisfied so i start to graze on other things. The "high" is not reached so I look for another food to reach that satisfaction then the salt/sweet seesaw begins then the depression comes along with self loathing.
Great interview. Susan was such a powerful presence and so knowledgeable that I can see why people are drawn to her program. She is the real deal. Lewis was born for this job, he has such a connection with each guest and just seems to know how to bring out the best in them. Very inspiring!

800% agree with this interview! Omg. amazing. The Sugar addiciton is REAL. Thank you for saying food addiction is the hardest to overcome. What occurs to me is I get that same hit from eating peanut butter. Yes, I am a recovering food addict due to massive sugar addiction and years of binge eating. I have overcome my addiction to refined foods and eat only whole foods. However, it is scientificly proven that fatty foods are addictive too. And the combination of sugar, fat and salt are what food companies hire biochemists to work into their most popular, most addictive foods. Also good carbs, starches and whole grains are necessary for muscle development. I eat sweet potatoes, potatoes and grains freely and have maintained a healthy weight for 3 years now. I can't imagine changing my eating lifestyle and love intermittent fasting.
My husband has done the same..cut out most processed foods and fats. He eats starch based Whole Foods and even has sugar on the daily. He is as thin as he can be, and rides his mountain bike daily at a high performance. He is in better shape at 50 years of age than he was at 20. He gets his fat intake from his starches..potatoes, rice, fruits etc...which either some or all naturally have a small amount of fat..it’s all the fat our bodies need. I “imagine” eating this way will keep people from being overweight, having diabetes AND heart troubles. When we eat fat..especially oils, our cell receptors get blocked and that’s what keeps sugar from entering our cells where it is needed. Instead of sugar being taken up by our cells, it all stays in the blood stream causing our body to create more insulin to give the sugar an extra push into our cells, but as long as your cells are blocked, the sugar stays in your blood stream and the insulin keeps trying to come to the rescue. When high sugar levels stay in your bloodstream, this is called diabetes. Without the bad fats blocking your cell receptors, the sugar is used up by your cells quickly and then your insulin stops getting pumped in to your bloodstream. The cycle is finished quickly..no lingering sugar in your bloodstream. And your body then uses that sugar for energy and you feel good and lose weight. I learned this from Dr. John A. McDougall from California. A lot of vegans are overweight and unhealthy because they eat foods containing vegetable oil and also processed foods which contain the same. Dr. McDougall calls it the starch based diet and doesn’t refer to it as vegan because there’s a lot of bad vegan options, like vegan meats and vegetable oils. Dr. McDougall is interesting to listen to and very knowledgeable on the topic.
I found the same peace in my happy routine of intermittent fasting and very low carbs and only the sugar found naturally in food But no low fat or restrictions on natural fats: butter, olive oil, coconut oil and 🥑 too!!
Look up Dr Berg - TH-cam. He has many many videos. healthy keto and then intermittent fasting . I was only 12 kgs overweight but could not lose anything. I am 1.55 and now am 59 kgs no cravings. Easy to go to restaurants. have been this weight for 5 years. Good luck
Thank you for this wonderful interview, it resonated with me so much! Unfortunately, along with my sugar and junk food addiction, I have another huge problem; I hate vegetables to the point of gagging over most green veggies. This is due to being abused as a child and being forced to eat vegetables I didn't like. My father would threaten to beat me if I didn't eat all the food on my plate and I couldn't leave the dinner table until I ate all of my vegetables. Every dinner became very traumatic and stressful to me as I would have to sit at the table for more than an hour after everyone else had finished eating, until I could gag it down. Then I would throw it up. This created a huge trigger for me that I still deal with today. My father loved gardening and would also make me spend hours weeding and tending the garden with the vegetables that I hated eating. I started seeing vegetables as something that came from dirt in the ground and I started equating vegetables as eating dirt. So some vegetables can make me nauseous to even smell them or look at them. While there are some vegetables I can eat, mostly I just don't eat them at all, so I take vitamins and vegetable pill supplements. I have also tried hypnotherapy twice for this issue, but it didn't work. This problem makes it hard for me to follow any weight loss or healthy diet plans. I was wondering if there are other people who have experienced trauma over being forced to eat food and if there are any professionals who have dealt with treating clients with this issue as I have never heard anyone discuss it. Thank you.
Now that was beautiful! I will never forget this video! It has impacted me mentally, physically and spiritually! Thank you for having her on your channel!!
One of the best interviews I watched on this topic. Susan is a great guest and elaborator, who really understands the core of the issue being an addict herself. I'll be sure to check her book.
They should do sit-ups where the upper part of the abdomen is worked, with the legs raised and trying to touch the feet with the hands and its variants that work the upper part of the abdomen, they will see improvements quickly. That upper abdominal exercise will take away your depression and anxiety, it will also heal your mind....
Lewis you constantly have me in tears cracking up.. you’re so witty & I absolutely love it 😂 This entire interview came at the most perfect timing for me it’s crazy. Thank you 🙏💙
She's an advocate for good clean living with a lot of science and experience to teach a new mindset. Surviving with food allergies to eggs, wheat, dairy, and cane sugar, and corn maltodextrin, I can relate to Susan's journey. I simply talked myself out of eating those foods by saying it's for others, not me. It works. She's right about food addictions. I crave orange juice and maple syrup. I actually consciously have to regulate my consumption of them. Yet, when I see people who drink alcohol I can't understand why they do it. They are ruining their lives. Susan is so right about going without sugar. Without it my mind is so sharp. I think what people need most are electrolytes.
This is great! Love how you explained everything, from the food addiction problem (compared to drugs) to the difference on the healthy, natural carbs to the unhealthy ones...etc. Thank you! Very helpful. That is what I am working on...letting go of the man made carbs, and switching to nature's carbs, eating them balanced with the other nature's foods. And hopefully influencing my family while doing it.
This is amazing information & what a brilliant woman! So grateful for her transparency. I couldn’t stop watching. It just confirmed that I have an eating disorder & it’s the 1st time I recognise it and admit it. I signed up on the Bright line app and Now I can start working on fixing it. So so excited to learn more & share with others. Thank you Lewis for always bringing amazing content! You are a blessing.

Lewis, thanks, this podcast was such an unexpected surprise. Way beyond the physiological aspect of insulin checking. Binging is the sneaky trickster, addictive behavior underlies my eating, omg, even with fasting I am prey!!!
First of all thank you for having a different guest than the 'usual suspects' original and refreshing 🎉 I'm the 22% very healthy weight,🧡 strong and fit and constantly thinking about food, fear of upcoming diners and birthdays etc. It's time to let go of this addiction too. Yesssss
I have a sugar addiction . I can go a few days without it , but if I get a taste I will binge 😅 I can not have snacks or goodies in my house because if I have a rough day I will eat it all 😢
Very great conversation. The question that Lewis said what about those people who say they don’t want to live life so restrictive? I feel like to each his own. We know what our demons are, and how we need to manage them. There is a lot of work to do in life not just externally, but to manage ourselves. So we should make every effort to push forward in checking tasks off our list every day.
I like the term 'bright line'..i became "free" of food addiction by not entertaining dairy anymore..not playing with that 'line' is freeing!..eating primarily whole foods plant based..high fiber.. Thanks for sharing your personal story and explaining addiction cycles...and refinement effects on dopamine..and love your analogies..ice block vs snow cone shaving is awesome :)

I wish I'd known 50 years ago about low carb and high value greens. Im still going. I am not going to die in my early 70s when my mother died at 96.
Did they help you?

This podcast is the answer to my prayer for help.
So much truth.
Once the junk is out of my system , I can say no to it but like a drink to an alcoholic , one bite is too many and a thousand are not enough .
Glad this was helpful for you🧡
This is why I stopped associating with friends that only meet to eat and drink. I changed to meet with those that want to dance, walk, or hike or do an activity first and eat something sensible besides just eating and sitting tasty huge food instant choices.
This is really important
Gonna due my own due diligence but was just curious on how u met these people. Stopped drinking a year ago now my weekends are kinda of lonely
This podcast was most excellent. She’s brutally honest

Thank you so much for watching!
Her honesty has instantly changed my life for the better
She seems like a strong woman. Good for her and the people around her. And for us, to learn from her.
Look into the starch solution, that may be a good path for you. 😊
@@SarahsJewelryStudio Thank you very much for the recommendation.
I follow starch solution. So glad I found the book and author
I woke up from a nap with this playing, and it was exactly what I needed to hear to help me through a shockingly similar story of poly-addictions. What a brave, brilliant woman - thank you for your honestly, and your amazing work 🙏🏻
Same here. I woke up and this was playing!
Thank you for sharing! 🧡
Been there, done that as a former but potentially future vegan. I avoid label reading by eating whole foods. I'm just too lazy to keep investing time in that. 😂
Yes! I love that: formerly and hopefully future vegan! Me too! I love Eli Martyr's stuff. I love studying nutrition.

🧡
I have a lifetime of fighting addictions, and suger is by far the hardest to quit.
I am on day 15 no sugar or flour. I get waves of cravings here and there. I hope that I can become food neutral in the future. I’m going to stick to it one day at a time. I’m going to OA meetings online and got a sponsor
Update?
I am a food addict! I can eat when I am happy, sad, depressed, sleepy, when ever!
I love how candid this lady is about her life and experience, she’s ‘really real’ and an inspiration! 👏👏👏

Trauma also affects a lot of ppl with weight especially with sexual abuse for women or men because you think if I’m big I can’t get hurt!😢
Very insightful, and also spot on.
Or, if I’m overweight, then men will not be attracted to me, and I’ll be safer.
Yes. You feel safe when you think you are not/less atractive phisically.
There is a lack of conversation among our relationship with food, and the psychological aspect of it and it's importance. (personally I have not come across many individuals that are aware of it), Thank you for this Lewis! ❤
You're welcome, thank you for being here 🧡
Agree, our society is very bizarre when it comes to losing or gaining weight. We have to learn to respect the person's journey going through this and give them a listening ear cause it's tough when struggling with weight problems
Music is my thing. I can get all the highs I need just enjoying good music.
I’m on day 56 of Bright Line Eating. I’ve lost more weight and gained more peace in the past month than all my 20 years of dieting combined. This is the secret guys!

The "wanting" is where I'm challenged. Having that craving is not satisfying anymore, but the behavior is still raging.
AMAZING INTERVIEW, thank you so much, I’m 69 but I will try to help myself and stop feeling depressed.
Thompson for your work
🧡
...a woman who knows what she is talking about....Thanks...
By the end of the show I got to love this woman 🤗🤗So open , so passionate , just loved to listen. Thanks for shareing 🌹🌹
You're welcome,thank you for being here 🧡
Incredible that she seems to interpret what my brain is doing.

There is a lot of sugar in peanut butter. You may need to research fats a bit more.
Really powerful topic, I have been addicted to sugar for at least 20 years now and I agree it's the hardest thing to kick, thanks for this episode
I need to hear this! I'm a sugar addict! 😢
You're welcome🧡
One of the best interviews I watched on this topic. Susan is a great guest and elaborator, who really understands the core of the issue being an addict herself. I'll be sure to check her book.
They should do sit-ups where the upper part of the abdomen is worked, with the legs raised and trying to touch the feet with the hands and its variants that work the upper part of the abdomen, they will see improvements quickly. That upper abdominal exercise will take away your depression and anxiety, it will also heal your mind....
I'll try it starting today.
Lewis you constantly have me in tears cracking up.. you’re so witty & I absolutely love it 😂
This entire interview came at the most perfect timing for me it’s crazy. Thank you 🙏💙
🧡
Thankyou (from India), everyone in today's times, with easy availability of addictive substances all around, can relate to what has been shared here.
You're welcome,thank you for being here 🧡
This is great!
Thanks for being here!

Addictions are rooted in Trauma.

Yep… filling holes…❤
