If you want more power, the early carb model YFZ intake cam will give the quad more top-end power, the 2008 YZ450F dirtbike cam will make it pull harder from the bottom-mid RPM. Pretty cheap upgrade for a noticeable increase in power...
I would definitely suggest an mx tire setup for when you're riding on a track or just riding aggressive in general. It's crazy how much of a difference the smaller tires make for stability
Awesome build Pete. While my ATV is down for upgrades, I always seem to put your riding videos on in the background in the garage for motivation. Just put on a Contour Pro Taper bend on mine the other day, w/ the ODI lock on grips and +2 cables. Amazing difference between the pro taper contour and the stock bars for my 6'2" frame. One part that I DO recommend for you, is a Righteous Stunt Clutch Lever. Installed their one-finger trigger model a few days ago and absolutely love it. Lightest pull that I have ever felt and I can still keep 4 fingers on the bars while using it. Josh and his Wife run a damn good company and I don't know why I didn't run one before on my street bikes.
I usually watch on my Xbox One, but I decided to watch this one on my phone with earbuds. And the exhaust sounds way louder when Pete's in the background than when he's passing by the camera. The echo is so much louder. XD

Pete go with ASV levers I run them on my 700 raptor and I’m really impressed with them the break away system is perfect in case you fall and your wrist doesn’t caught and gets broken they have awesome products and customer service

Beautiful quad. My step father recently purchased a Kodiak 450, and I explained to him that he would not like it very much and that he should either get one of these or a raptor. He took it to St. Joe, rode it a few times, and will be selling it soon to purchase a Raptor 700r instead, #savesportquads .
Your Yamaha Raptor 700r inspired me to get my yamaha raptor 660r going I didn't have the raptor engine but I had a yamaha vmax 600 twin snowmobile engine and jackshaft and the will to make it work she's a blast we have matching Quads
Pete now that you have a 400ex. Wonder if you can start getting stuff on your website for them. Bought a 99 alittle over a year ago. Love it and spent alot on it to since I bought it.

I don’t know how you feel about handguards, but I think they’d look great on the quad but can be very helpful in muddy situations! Acerbis and Powermadd make nice ones

I got some houser nerf bars on my raptor 700 and they are insane. I did see a set go up for sale on ebay about 2 months ago, you should keep an eye out for them.
I was able to find a used set of the houser probounce for my raptor. One of the better purchases I've made. I've NEVER been a fan of nerf bars, always made me feel really wide like a 4x4. but I don't even notice that they are there.
@Pete Hager we just had a conversation about how much horsepower a YFZ450 has, I just checked here in the Netherlands, what I said was wrong, they do have 40 horsepower on the wheels, not 19 as I said earlier, I had the finneck app for license plate registration. I looked and it said 19 hp, but there is a lot of information in this upload. I would like to thank you in advance for the much information because I also want to drive a quad
I think u should put ur logo on the front number plate on the bumper and get a carbon fiber plate with ur logo for the license plate if u show off the quad. Please show in a video.

I’ve been pondering the “450R vs 700R” question for over a year now and I figured you’d be a good opinion to ask; do you like the 450 on trail riding? I’m looking to upgrade my raptor 350 (09’ just wanting something newer/fuel injected) and both bikes look amazing. My only concern is I’ve ridden a Honda 450R on trail rides and it can definitely be more exhausting being always in a higher rev range etc so I wasn’t sure if you’ve noticed anything like that also? My 350 is closer to the 700 in terms of style and having reverse is definitely a plus but man….that yfz just looks cool! Anyone else feel free to chime in! Looking to upgrade hopefully in the next month or so. Thanks again for the videos!!

Hey Pete huge fan and love everything you do!! I have a quick question did you have any trouble installing the ODI Lock on grips due to the Knurling on the bar end. I really want to put some bars like that and grips on my raptor700r that’s why I wanted to ask you.
Hey Saul, thanks for watching my videos! The ODI’s won’t fit over the knurling unfortunately so for both my quads I took a hand file to it. I’ve heard other guys say they zipped it with a grinder as well. After about 10-15 minutes of hand filing I could slide the sleeve on. It’s annoying but you can get around it 👍
nice atv dude, I was wondering if you are going to make some more changes to the enige to gain more torque/power ? I have the Yoshimura exhaust, fci intake an using the vortex ecu as-well.. but I never can't have enough power so was thinking to ordering the stage 2 hot cams.. you think that its worth it ?
I’m very interested in the obor tires. I’ve seen a few sets in person now and they seem to have a nice soft compound to them yet every says their durable. I want beadlocks for both machines but haven’t prioritized it yet. If I got OMF’s I’d have to keep them as dune wheels lol. I was thinking goldspeed actually but DWT is awesome as well 👍
Do you have the retro logo on your exhaust or is it the 2020 logo? I like the Rossier exhaust and I’m going to buy one for my 400ex off of your website soon
In this video I have the 2020 logo. My raptor has the retro logo in a lot of my older content. I actually just got a new Rossier R4 for our 400ex this week! Is the extra $40 worth it for the elite vs pro steering stabilizer? I only ride once every couple of weeks nothing too crazy, but here in SoCal the trails are pretty rocky
Just picked up my 21 Se this past weekend. I ordered the DRW skids. Are you running the factory clutch basket? I have been warned the factory clutch basket could be an issue. Thoughts?
@@travisnunya4641 No, not unless you changed the stock clutch basket to the recluse clutch basket. From what I have seen the the three rivet style (new model 450r) basket has damper springs on the back. They are held in with a thin sheet of metal. Over time that retainer plate fatigues and develops cracks at the corners. When they fail the springs are released. I ended up swapping to the 2010 basket and full Hinson clutch. The 2010 style basket has rubber dampers and a eight rivet design. Only thing you need is the older style clutch basket and the thrust washer to match.

Thanks for watching my videos! I’m running the precision antivibe clamps on my raptor and my YFZR has the new Urmosi 720 clamps now. For the money it’s hard to beat the precision clamps. The 720 clamps technically have damping from all angles whereas the precision clamps only go up and down on one axis 😊

When it comes time for new tires, get skinnier front tires it makes a huge difference handling wise.

The Precision is a tight fit when clamping it onto the steering stem but other then that I didn't have any issues. It's worked great so far! 👍

You need DWT or OMF beadlocks wheels! Also have you heard of Obor tires?

Bought a second 05 yfz and it came with houser control arms and a few other goodies. Them housers cost half what I paid for the whole quad!
