  • Aside from those piercing blue eyes, the Siamese cat breed is loved by many for their feline ballerina frame and dazzling color points. These cats are known for their chatty nature and attachment to those that they love most, but what else do you know about these beautiful kitties?
As some people have rightfully pointed out, we somehow left off flame points as a Siamese color! We apologize to all those beautiful flame point Siamese out there!

My wife and I used to have one of these cats. His name was Jeff. Very smart, very talkative, and he could successfully mimic about 20 human words, including my name and my wife's name. It was clear from the context that he knew exactly what he was saying and was pleased we understood him. He eventually passed away at the age of 22. We loved him and we miss him.
He daydreamed of life as a wild beast. He would sit on the window sill and stare at the outdoors for hours. His instincts told him he was a carnivorous predictor who hunted by stealth. He took great professional pride in his ability to move around almost in total silence. He escaped the house a could of times and got to live "on the wild side", but was only too glad to come back in when he got cold and hungry. He had absolutely no clue how to hunt or find shelter or water. I had not realized that these skills are taught, even for animals.

@TH-cam Account I would not be surprised. There is a difference in the structure of the mouth that makes it harder for cats to vocalize some human sounds. Jeff struggled to pronounce "water" but he could make it sound close enough to be understandable. When he did, I freshened his bowl and petted him. He liked that. He especially liked that he was understood.

I have a Lilac Lynx Point named Sophie. She had been abused and abandoned by her previous owners. She adopted me one night when I was out walking. Never thought I'd own a Siamese cat- but I have to say I simply adore her! She is VERY protective of me, going on walks with me and the dog (Savannah), chasing away snakes and the neighbor's dog, and even she prevented a fire by alerting me that something was burning. I don't know what I'd do without my sweet girl.

I had a kitten with a kinked tail and was afraid not to know if he would have pain in it becoming older, a vet bought him. :) Now I have 3 kittens with kinked tails, is it a gift from Budha, I don't know, perhaps it brings luck. But I also read it the same like you did, they kept the rings like treasures while princess or queens were bathing.

My great grandmother had a Siamese cat who lived to be 16. Even at her old age she would announce when she came into the room with her distinctly low and drawn out meow. If she was looking for my great grandmother and was still downstairs you would hear her relatively clearly; but the farther up the stairs she got it would sound like she was right next to you.

i made the mistake of bringing a Siamese/tabby mix home from the shelter. so far she's broken a curtain rod, a flower pot, a mirror, and tried to break my aquarium by knocking a metal wall hanging on it. i frequently hear her banging stuff around somewhere in the house, and she often has wet feet when she jumps in my lap from fishing in the aquarium. but when she's not misbehaving and breaking things, she's the prettiest lap cat ever.

I've had Siamese cats the major part of my life and they've had a lot in common but yet different. The one I have now is a female, my first and it's very obvious that she's different from the males I've had. She's more moody and more cautious. She's also very playful and when she wants to play and I don't (if she was to decide, I wouldn't have time to do anything else), she sits and stares at me - and believe me, they can stare - those piercing blue eyes are not possible to ignore. So even though I'm at home all day, I decided to get her a companion - and now I have TWO sets of eyes staring at me. The new one is a Holy Birman cat, a kitten that is an adorable pain in the derrière. He jumps into the fridge when I open the door, jumps into the bathtub when I wanna take a bath (yes he gets wet but that doesn't seem to bother him much), he sits on the chopping board when I try to cut vegetables, he jumps into the washing machine (yes I check before I wash) and jumps into the dish washer when I'm emptying it - and finally, he bites my toes. And he loves to cuddle. The Siamese tries to teach the kitten to behave, so does the dog (a German Shepherd mix) all to no avail. I think I've never seen so much confidence - ever.

You forgot a few other recognized siamese breeds such as tabby point.
Also while you mentioned all the GOOD points of this breed you forgot to mention that siamese cats are also prone to being very aggressive as well. They can flip from happy as heck to clawing your face without any warning. Also DO NOT FORCE YOURSELF TO A SIAMESE. Let them come to you only....otherwise you will meet their claws/teeth.
Other than these points.....they are beautiful and graceful cats and if you do it right....you WILL have a best friend for life.

I have a tiny panther named Sheldon Cooper 19.5lb black cat who is sensitive about his size), a lilac point Siamese female named Lulu, a seal point Siamese named Milo who had slightly crossed eyes and a Siamese mix male named Angus MacGyver who had the most unusual green-blue-gray eyes. Lulu is the only one who ever tries to get outside. I adore my babies. I love how they change color as they grow, Milo was a tiny kitten when we got him, so he was the most noticeable change. Miss Lulu was nearly a year old when we adopted her so there wasn't much change. Even as a mix, little Angus lynx markings had darkened.

My cat doesn't make loud noise. She hissed at the cats meowing in the video. She hates all animals. When she was 12 weeks old, she got out of the house and chased a herd of deer out of the yard. She has attached foxes, groundhogs, dogs, turkeys, other cats, and pretty much any animal she can get to. But she loves people.

I have a blue tip Siamese that’s named Skippy and he is the best cat I’ve ever had. He loves attention and flops at my feet to get it. They can get board really quick though so for sure know that something will get knocked over or eaten. I would suggest to prevent some problems get a spray bottle and fill it with water and just get them when they are about to do something they shouldn’t. Doesn’t hurt them at all it just makes them jump and a little wet.

I came to appreciate the breed decades ago as a young (10-12 year old) kid, when the local cat killer german shepherd managed to severely injure the female Siamese of a mated pair. I was fortunate enough to watch the male Siamese hiss at the shepherd, run up a tree branch just out of reach, tease, then run back down when the dog started leaving. This behavior went on until the dog could no longer jump and bark. The male cat dropped off the branch onto the back of this full grown dog and ripped the crap out of it. THAT is intelligence! Eventually the dog was seen with massive amount of bandages. Year later, I saw the dog nosing around a bush and there was a kitten. The kitten hissed. The dog ran home, crying a wide streak!

I'm owned by a lynx point siamese. He is the smartest cat I've ever belonged to. I once got a laser pen to play with him, he looked at it on the wall then looked at me and knock it off my hand like he was saying "do you really think I'm that stupid?" He also rings the bell when he wants to get in and uses the human toilet. I'm sure he could flush too but he just doesn't care.

He brought in the house and dropped it in front of my dad, lol. I could walk him like a dog too. I grew up with him. He was almost 21 years old when he crossed the rainbow bridge. It is highly personal. Like any day it doesn't want you to catch. It just doesn't catch you even if you try to catch it. But what days do you sit and work? It may jump up to you to plead or play with you.
Some are able to open doors on their own, are playful, curious, are good at catching mice, insects, and can train them to be formal. Naughty behavior is out of place. But sometimes it's jealous and peace was born
