Everyone loves a tournament arc. It might feel like a bit of a trope, but they're always a good opportunity for some character building and to showcase a lot of characters who don't normally get a lot of screen time.
They did bad on one character though. Especially in this season. They made "his" character buildup like a major character then the next thing we knew, he's back to just side character.

@@e.6335 I don't think that's true. Although there's only one central character, a show can have more than one main character. For the most part, the main characters are Deku, Bakugo and Shoto. You could probably argue that Almight is a main character, although he might cross the line into just being "major supporting character". Everyone else is a varying degree of supporting cast member of varying important.

Remember when Deku told Uraraka his history with Bakugo she was going "Childhood friends turned rivals the fated battle between MEN!" she is so pumped for the festival because she loves testosterone fueled, action movie conflict / competition.
Yeah, the story takes place an unspecified amount of time in the future, between 100 and 200 years. I suspect it's closer to 100, but I'm not sure. That glowing baby was born in a modern hospital. Quirks becoming common place took quite some time. Originally they were in the minority. Still I find it rather unrealistic that the Olympics would scale back in favor of a high school sports festival. Logically the Olympics would add new events to incorporate quirks. There would be plenty of people who would train with them, enough for healthy competition.
I had forgotten that this starts with "this is how I became the greatest hero" line xD at this pace maybe in a 100 seasons well se him become the greatest hero ahahah
MHA is set a few hundred years in the future. The emergence of superpowers was messy to say the least, and the resulting chaos set back technology and society for most of that time. By the time the show is taking place, they are just starting to pull of ahead of us tech-wise.
There's never been anything saying it's set in the future, no official year has never been stated ever in the series. It could say 1980 and that'd just be that.
@@pepsi-4275 Most people agree with me though. The series does say that technology ground to a halt and their tech is slightly ahead of our, so that means the tech freeze would have happened about now. So it's at least a few generations in the future.
@@KpopBopping OVA 1 takes place between Season 1 and 2, OVA 2 takes place between the Hero Killer Arc and the Final Exams Arc, OVA 3 tells a bit of All Might’s original, to compliment the First Movie, it’s very short, OVA 4 is a two-parter and it takes place between the Hideout Raid Arc and the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc.
Ive always wondered about deku punching nomu, did his arm not break because hes was able to properly control his power at that moment or was it beacuse of nomu's shock nullification?
Deku subconsciously held back bc it was his first time hitting another “person” with his OFA. There was a bit of power in the punch, but that was also absorbed by the Nomu’s shock absorption.
I never understood why they decided to have the second Ending focus on the Class A-1 girls, I mean, it’s not like i have a problem with that, but why the second Ending?

The newer generation have stronger quirks. The Olympics doesn't allow minors.
