I was very confident because every day I was on u tube for revision I knew what to do. Imagine I paid 700 dollars but the training but I paid nothing on the U tube. I thank God for everything
Better instruction than what I got in class! I plan to memorize, practice, and use this information to take my Skills Exam. My Instructor was TERRIBLE! I learned almost nothing from her. Thank you!

My Instructor in the training center did not teach us good. I learned a lot from this video and watched it over and over while I am studying the CNA skills.

Yes but she makes little mistakes here and there but everyone should know the basic like knocking on the door placing a linen on the table as a barrier etc but the actual skill she does always be on point remember to wash your hands before you start your skills

I love these videos, I must agree I wish this instructor was mine out of my whole tanning in school I got it more out of these videos then anything , they really got stuck in my head . i love the step by step just like board wants

This is an excellent video for showing none CNA people how to do this. I have caregivers I have to train myself. In a hospital setting they refer this as repositioning. I call it going on my "side" for pressure relief. Being a quadriplegic I'm 85% paralyzed. I recently spent 7 months in between hospitals and nursing homes and in that time I would ask to go on my side. They would put me on my side and then put a pillow just behind my back and just let me fall back onto the pillow. And then pretty much think that's how they thought was going to stay. You get it with a pillow halfway up the right side of my back, does that seem comfortable to you? Well I could tell you it sure isn't. It was so frustrating these people are supposedly CNA's. I did at one point say to them just get out of the room I really lost it. Anyway I just wish I had this video to show these people how simple this is and how should be done.

Unfortunately when you have a frail, elderly patient, you can't always be as forceful with the pushing required to get them on their side. Having a pad underneath the patient which can be used to roll the patient is one alternative.
Regardless of fall risk, yes she should have raised the rail. I said the same thing. Better safe than have to fill out an incident report and possibly be sued later.
Not a good way to roll the patient. doing it once its ok..but doing ir all the time you will hurt your back. should've him bend one of his knees. Other than that it s a great video.
I agree. The way we do it in our stna class is have the "patient" place a hand on our shoulder while we place oir opposite arm behind the back and then turn them. Pushing as shown here can cause skin tears, bruising, and pain to the resident as they're skin and bones are much weaker
Sanitazition of the hands before and after the procedure. And you're hair is touching the patient, put it in a pony tail or a bun. But otherwise great video, you covered the aspects of moving the patient well and clear.
Aren't you suppose to adjust the patient over towards you? starting with upper body, mid section and legs, then you the you take the left leg and gently rise it up holding patient foot, then cross it over? this is just so patient can have a little room because he to close to rail face ward.
During the exam, you'll have to provide privacy before beginning the procedure (you normally wouldn't have time to pause in the middle of something to draw the curtain).
I don't understand why these videos don't demonstrate w/people who are at least partially disabled who cannot help you. Invariably the pt seems to always be able to lift their heads, arms, legs etc

Side rails are ALWAYS supposed to be up when u raise the client/resident/patient.The pillow opening is always supposed to be down and away from the person. You didn't crisps cross his legs when u were turning him. While lifting his leg u're supposed to support the whole leg instead of 'plucking it' I hope u put both side rails down at the end, because if u didn't, that's called entrapment, and u can get into a lot of trouble.
you should have noted proper BODY MECHANICS when rolling the client. proper positioning your legs and arms and hands. You could harm yourself and your client without proper body mechanics. What if your client is a huge guy? You can hurt his hips or shoulders. Instead of rolling him with your hands, try using a slider sheet to roll your client.
Poor technique. I am a Professor from the School of Nursing. I happened to see this video and felt very disappointed that not even you noticed the patient is placed too close to the side-rail to which he faces.

Shouldn't you raise the side rail up before you raise the bed? So he can't fall out from an elevated position?

In our module, it needs to move to side first so that the patient wont go much on an edge of the bed.
