a Link to the Past style where everything is just undone by the end. But instead of it being done by an ancient triforce with unimaginable power, it's by a robot that sounds like a slide whistle.
People love people that represent what they don't have, can never have. Makes sense she likes the bearer of the triforce of courage.

This is the saddest thing in a Nintendo game ever... I cannot even believe they could make such a sad character arc, then kill off the character, and refuse to give them a happy ending. They didn't even let Link remember his relationship he had with Mipha. What a depressing story, it would be fine if we knew she was returning in Tears of the Kingdom, but it is likely none of the Champions will.
Absolutely heart wrenching.
Let us not forget the child given alcohol in majoras mask because the world was ending... hut yeah I ship it.

It's unclear whether link remembers just the snippets we see, or maybe some more contextual info as well, but it seems pretty clear he never gets the whole picture. I'm not a fan of how age of calamity handled its story, but at least there's one timeliness where things are kinda alright.
She lives in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, so I like to think they get together in that game.
Lol it’s common in Japanese storytelling. Especially the “young love” stories like the sorts that take place in high school. A shy girl/boy fancies someone, always admire them for a long time, but in the end they can’t muster the courage to tell them how they feel, so the romance never blooms. I suppose it’s similar to something like “star crossed lovers” in the western literature.
SMALL SPOILERS:
I know Nintendo didn't want to reference the champions stories too much, so new players wouldn't feel in a need of playing BotW, but man if it weren't for Sidon, it would almost feel like all people forgot who the previous champions were.
It was so bizarre Riju not mentioning Urbosa at all for example in TotK. At least in the case of Sidon, his whole internal conflict is because of him losing Mipha and not being able to protect anyone again.
I'm pretty sure Riju does though. Isn't there a cutscene or line of dialogue where she asks Lady Urbosa to guide her or something?

I like how her Dialoge is writtin in a way like a princess would talk. Remeber guys Zelda isn't the only princess
I am quite amazed at implications of the dialogue which tells whether or not Link remembers what happened between them and whether or not he knows why the Zora armor fits perfectly. That means he knew about it at one point or he knew about a way for Mipha to know his body so perfectly that she did a Zora armor which fits perfectly. As I think Mipha totally deserved Link for everything she did for him and for this pure love I definitely love these suggestions even if I am left hungry here. At least I have Heart's escort mission in AOC and the Zora armor's description in French to feed me. And the DLC French version of this dialogue tells "Have you recovered some memories of the time you spent in Zora domain 100 years ago? Do you remember why the zora armor fits you perfectly". I think this confirms what my interpretation was.

So my headcanon is that in order to make the Zora Armor fit perfectly Mipha got Link's measurements discretly from Zelda since Zelda would of needed them to complete an accurate fit of his tunic beforehand. This would already imply that Zelda knew she liked Link (besides some of the possible hinting in the game), but I like to think both princesses knew the truth before she ever did ask
That's a good idea. In my opinion the fact she knew his measurements was linked to the time they spent together as she tells him in the English version of this dialogue "Do you remember what happened between us 100 years ago ? Do you know why does the Zora armor fit perfectly ?" And in the French version she tells "Have you recovered memories of time you spent in Zora domain 100 years ago? Do you remember why does the Zora armor fit so well? ". I am practically sure according to dialogues of the game that Link knew Mipha got his measurements and that it was linked to the time they spent together.
Zelda's tunic isn't a tight fit for link.... Links tunic is kinda big for him. The zora tunic fit link perfectly.... They where already close

7:48 I love the reference to link from Ocarina of time and the zora princess from that game, when Link received the gem from the zora kingdom and saved the zora princess, the latter was in a position to marry link, since she fell in love when she was rescued by him, even the rest of the zora people agreed to let link marry the zora princess.

Idk if the armor was to be a confession. After reading the diary, I think it was. This is a little sad because it did not sound so much like an unrequited love before the diary.
Well, technically she never confessed because she never gave him his armor. But the armor is proof she loved Link, Zoran females would sow their own scales into the armor for their husband's.
I don’t know, Link spent a lot of time with Mipha as well, and based on bits of dialogue it kind of seems implied that they both had feelings for each other. I think the main reason she had so many reservations and fears was because a lot of Zora were racist against Hylians (in botw Sidon says Mipha kept her feelings secret from Muzu because of his opinion on Hylians). Like I think Link and Mipha loved each other but there was hesitancy on both sides to progress with their relationship.
@@Kohay114 sorry to comment on something you wrote a year ago, i know that’s weird, but if you read mipha’s diary, it’s painfully clear that she never confessed to link, and it’s also clear that she doesn’t know how link feels about her. she writes about how he looks past her and how he doesn’t open up to her. and she states that he’s not as talkative as he used to be. also… he didn’t spend as much time with her as the zora in zora’s domain would leave you to believe. whenever he visited, she would write about it and preface that it’s been ages since he’s visited. it seems like he used to visit the domain a lot (when he was younger probably) and then overtime he stopped, and he also started to shut her out. all of that combined with her jealousy over him spending time with zelda does not make it seem like they were two individuals who were in a romantic relationship -or- even knew about their feelings for each other. i feel like people want miphlink to be canon so bad that they overlook her own diary that has probably the biggest insight to their relationship. her diary was where she could write her experiences and thoughts unfiltered.

So apparently Mipha wanted to give Link the armor after the whole Ganon thing but you know, she kinda... died. I can't remember where I heard this from though so don't put too much faith in it.
The armour was the engagement gift. Mipha wanted to propose to link after the battle but water blight had other ideas

If that is Mipha's Diary Location, then the Diary already read by many people. So everyone in Zora's domain (except Muzu) already know Mipha love Link.
So Mipha was going to confess to Link and he may or may not have felt the same. Huh. I always had the impression that the affection went both ways in the past. This definitely doesn't seem like Link was actively pursuing a relationship with her.

Mipha is Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice! Nintendo I don't care what it takes just bring her back! If only Link could talk!!!!! Maybe Link would have expressed his love for her. That would be such a heartbreaking story to watch!
