jose would manage portugal before the u.s.
He would allow for a more fluid offense. With Mourinho we would be more defensive so we'd have to bring up our development with guys like Neal, Richards, and Wiley, but our ability to break down low blocks and counter would be greatly enhances. He's not like Berhalter where possession is the be all end all. You'll never hear him say "we lost by 5 but we dominated because had possession truly great performance"

Slim to no chance. Jose Mourinho is an infinitely better manager and he would definitely be more pragmatic in his approach. And he's extremely methodical - a LONG time ago he was asked about managing Portugal but admitted he was not ready for that because he 'needed' the day-to-day of club management and would miss that. Exactly what , IMHO, Berhalter is MISSING as he has limited experience in the day-to-day and weekly games to build out his experience.
He would be an improvement, and a spectacle that would bring new eyes on USMNT, just not sure he would fit the character of the U.S. squad.

Would be a horrible fit to have Mourinho lead US men. Simple reason: "Seek first to understand, then, be understood". I'd bet large cash he doesn't GAF about understanding the US game, US mentality, system, etc. He's a narcissist unfortunately. It's hard to fill a cup that's already full. How is he going to get the best out of a particular squad? Does he require a particular base-level of skills/vision/match understanding to be considered a successful gaffer? If he loses, will he blame a lack of said skills and take a jab at our youth system?

No! I love the special one but 85% of his coaching is relying on amazing talent to do amazing things. He’s not a teacher of the sport. With all respect, the usmnt is not the type of team he would do well with. He would be excited for like 2 seconds then he would check out once he realized this would be a very hard project.
Why does anyone listen to Lalas opinions on big time soccer? Google his resume. He played his whole career in MLS when it was an amateur league. Any USL side today would have won MLS in the early days. He has the confidence of a champions league winner but he only watched it on TV like the rest of us. 😂😂😂😂
