I really like director kim's attitude. She is so precise with her criticism and want the best for everyone. Real life is very hard and she does a good job for preparing her students for that.
I love her so much. So passionate about teaching and working. It’s very good idea to have a class that provides the opportunity to test audition and get direct feedback like this.

I would have like to have been a triple threat. Dancer, singer and actor. The poor accompanying pianist. Not enough emotion…but he has a nice voice.

This! I agree but as well this is based on our exposure and we would say he sounds better than the average person which makes him sound great! In the real world, people aren't going to necessarily give you slack for being a newbie/rookie when even veterans are vying for the same roles. So in comparison to the thousands of other professional musical actors/actresses (remember one in every two thousand musical actors/actresses make it), he was "not great but not bad" either, which doesn't make him a genius, but it does mean he has potential which is important.
Ikr 😅 I thought he was a really good singer, and did a good job portraying the emotions of the song! After watching this, this field kind of intimidates me 😅😅
I don't know if my opinion is reliable but I played classical music, a sopran in choir for awhile and is a musical lover. Actually he's not beaten because he's bad at singing. His singing is good, but he's too nervous and not confidence and it affect the note. From the very first note it sounds trembling and unsure, also there are some flats, and it doesn't show any character at all. Like 'okay, you're great but you don't have any taste'? I can't see what or who's he trying to potray on his performance. His pronunciation is unclear too. And honestly with this performance I also can't see what character may fit him, because I don't see any room for character development so yeah, like Kim Mae said, it doesn't pique the interest of the judge to even try him for another role. He has a lot to work indeed.

What episode is this?
I am not musician but I love listening to the musicals mostly because of the emotions they transfer to me. Maybe that's why I didn't like his performance. Sometimes people need to enjoy what they are doing a little bit more than trying to chase perfection.
Posting before the judges comments: The first auditionee's voice seems quite stuck in the back of his mouth. Not projecting much. But maybe thats the edited audio.
