I am always amazed how Americans feel that placing the washing machine in the kitchen is odd. In Europe we usually do not have a dedicated place for laundry so we usually put it in the kitchen or in the bathroom if it is big enough. 😁
It's odd because Americans have laundry areas specifically for laundry, not the kitchen

Americans have laundry rooms...usually in the basement of a home.
it has to do with the water access. In Europe we usually have two and sometimes only one water pipe going through each apartment. Very often, the bathroom and kitchen share a wall with this pipe so that all appliances that need water can be connected. That’s why the only places where you can use a washing machine are either a kitchen or a bathroom. I’m not an expert but it probably has to do with limited space and often very old buildings which architecture limits new technologies a lot.
Some Canadian homes put the washer and dryer in the bathroom, but the majority of the time, there is a dedicated area for laundry. It’s extremely rare for the washer and dryer to be in the kitchen…at least in Ontario.
If you read this Jeremy, get an extra long shower head extension, preferably one that turns, and then you can use that other part of your shower.

5,600 divided by 3 for that kinda of space is not bad at all, I love it
It's great value. The place is huge with a separate dining room and great light. And both the kitchen and the bathroom have windows (not sure about the other bathroom).
The plant placements and the wood combinations are stunning!! It’s a very classic and cozy layout in every room with the beautiful art and antique pieces.

The apartment looks extremely tranquil. Love the special touches contributed by each roommate. I always try to check out the book titles in the home tours. I spotted "It Ends With Us" in the stack of books.

He said he has a roommate, so he only pays half that. Even then, half is a lot more than my mortgage.

5600 between 3 people is nothing in NYC. Especially for the size of the place and the location.

Is funny how people in New York, always mention their amazing finds from FB market or antique places, etc, but they seemengly forget to talk about their purchases at west elm or Ikea and more. Don't know if it's because obviously will not be sponsored or just to not be seeing uncool with their retail shopping.
There’s no thrill of the hunt, nor, finding a fantastic piece at an amazing price, when you buy retail; it’s not as exciting!
@@angeliquematos2590this. It’s really not. Most people probably already know where you got the ikea bookcase, but a nice bar cart or cool coffee table purchased for a great price is kinda brag worthy lol.

It's not uncommon in Germany to have your washing machine in the kitchen, especially in apartments.

no, you should drink it...because if the glass falls and breaks...you just wasted alcohol...but also, move it to a location where it won't break because the customized and personalization of you carrying the pizza boxes is priceless

I think the bedrooms are upstairs with the main bathroom. The other bathroom is downstairs.

All is nice, except Francis needs to learn how to hang picture on walls. Most of the hangings in his room are WAY too high. Generally, aim for the center of an item to be about 55 inches off the floor to the middle of the piece. Make this change and the room will be greatly improved--on par with the rest of the apartment.
I had a friend who was 7'0 tall and he hung his pictures about to the ceiling. I guess that was eye level for him but it looked very strange.

Totally stupid to spend 67K a year with no equity. I grew up in the Bronx and am so grateful I escaped this pathetic lifestyle.

Jeremy's bedroom looks bland in relation to the rest of the apartment; I thought it'd be interesting since he's a photographer. Francis' room has a lot more charm.
