That PoS had the nerve to attempt to ask for forgiveness for his atrocities, ONLY on his deathbed. I loathe how many get to enjoy full, happy lives on the salts of their cruelty only to catch "justice" at the end of their natural line.
Joel I want to thank you for helping me get a peaceful night's sleep. I often wake up in the morning and try to remember which story I fell asleep on so I can restart it 😅❤
28 mins- ordered the mother to keep her legs closed to wait for the doctor... This is so scary to hear. The truth is when I went into labor in the Arlington hospital in Tx on Matlock Rd, the doctor was said to have been w another patient who was giving birth in the moment. The nurses told me to hold it in ans not push and to "wait" until the doctor could finish up with the other mother and make his way to my room. I said "You want me to wait for the doctor? NO. I'm pushing now!" And push I did. I thank God that I didn't listen to the nurses. They actively urged, "No don't just wait! " But I did no such thing. I ignored the crazy lady and I pushed because I felt something telling me to just do it that it was important for me to push and get my baby out. I am so happy and thankful I did after hearing this story. I'm so sorry what happened to Rosemary. If they had taken as much time training her to recite what they wanted her to say, to actually nurture her and help her learn she would have been ok. The bouts of anger were clearly her being frustrated that they did not love her and she was basically a prisoner. And her nightly escapes were just that, she was probably searching for an escape. R.I.P. Rosemary. ps: that doctor never showed up.
@@joannamccarthy6197 ya a diff doctor showed up but it was after I gave birth. My original never came. And they had wanted me to wait. And thank you I'm fortunate. Sometimes people listen to nurses or doctors or police or other people who seem to hold an important position in society we think they know what is best but clearly this is not always the case.
Great job Joel ❤. Sadly, I do remember Rosemary and what they did to her. So sad.😢 Yesterday's parent's, with power and money wanted no flaws in the family. Have a great night
Unpopular opinion, I have to agree with the dad in the first story. I have 2 daughters and would absolutely insane if anything happened to them because I didn't try to protect them. When you're the sole protector, you don't understand how difficult that weight is until your family is facing unquestionable danger. I would've done it too. I've done something emotionally equal to 'family' to protect my girls. I don't regret it and would do it again. Until you're in that position, do not hate what you cannot fathom facing.
Exactly. I don't respect the writer judging the father as if they have any concept of the harsh decisions people have to make when they're not living in a privileged 1st world country. The father chose reality and saving his family over mindless idealism.
The ending of the first story kind of irritated me. To grow up with such privilege in a country like the United States and not want to get in touch with your dad because you feel you have a loyalty to a place/time that you had nothing to do with is ridiculous. What his dad did is wrong, and he'll be judged one day for it, but he did what he had to do to get his family and others out of a 100% death fate. If his dad is still alive, his heart is completely crushed that his family turned their backs on him. He punishes himself every day for his actions; he doesn't need it from the family he saved. And his son will regret not getting in touch with his dad. Death is forever; time with our loved ones is not.
My favorite creator! I have so much respect for you. I just want you to know that you have a positive effect on many people and we appreciate you! Thank you for everything you do!
Story 1: The whole situation is messed up, but the man just wanted to live. That's a powerful feeling because we're hardwired to do so. Besides, he wasn't a total coward. He was able to warn the next village and save them from certain death. It's a rock-and-hard-place situation. A decision had to be made and he made it.
Not that I agree with it but back then times were different. The father did despicable things to Rosemary and the mother and children were on covering the father’s character up. I once worked on a very old house and there was a room in the attic with a lock on the outside of the door which you had to walk a catwalk to get to. When you went in you could tell that a child or possibly an autistic person was in there unsupervised for long periods of time. Drawings on the walls and what not. It was creepy
My heart goes out to Rosemary Kennedy, what an incredibly power hungry and cruel man her father was. To him it was like business cut the bottom line. Having it done behind his wife and mother of his child's back, proves he knew what a huge risk the operation was. To him she was nothing of a liability. To think you could look at your own child, especially one with special needs and not feel love and compassion for her, It is unthinkable. I have to think his wife secretly hated him after that. I would have. I have a very rare seizure disorder some of which can cause me to lose my mind momentarily. Or say things that don't make sense. They are seizures and pass. I guess if I was Kennedy I would have been put in an institution, given shock treatment and many drugs.
Thanks for the new video last night Joel by the time I finished listening to it I was almost finished with a section of some art I was working on. Counting down the days until I can actually watch one of your lives so my birthday is November 1st and the Sunday after my birthday is when I'll be able to catch a live stream. Hearing the stories makes you think differently about your family, huh? Like, you always believe they are kind good spirited but at the back of the mind makes you think.. ...what dark secret that they keep to the grave?
I feel so badly for Rosemary. As a mentally ill daughter of a wealthy father who is always a public figure wherever we have lived, I can commiserate with some of the isolation she must have felt. I truly hope Joe’s medical conditions were horrific and painful and that he is burning in hell. He obviously viewed all his children as objects instead of people and is horrible what he did to her and didn’t even allow his wife any say. I can’t imagine how terrifying an experience that must have been for rosemary :(

inbreeding is greatly misunderstood by most. the common perception is that a single generation of it can lead to children being born with 11 toes and internal organs that nobody has ever seen before and such. in reality such deformities are usually the result of continued inbreeding across generations. inbreeding simply "doubles down" on genetic traits within a family. sometimes that means continuing the inheritance of pretty cheekbones or a higher than average intellect, which is one of the reasons why people have historically engaged in intentional inbreeding. other times it means that things like recessive and/or rare conditions, both physical and mental, become more common or severe, or previously desirable traits become so pronounced that they become uncanny or ugly instead. it doubles down on the good genes, the bad genes, and just all genes in general. a child born as a result of inbreeding is more likely than others to uncannily resemble a member of that family, because our bodies and at least some aspects of our personalities and mental function is genetic. this strong degree of resemblance is rarer among children born to parents who are more genetically distant. not to say it doesn't happen, but you can usually identify features from both families rather easily.
