Hi Steve. They are M12x1.25. Make sure you have a tap. Almost every one of these engines, the holes are painted or have a bunch of dirt in them. The bolts will not want to thread into them. Chasing with a tap fixes that. Edit: now I'm second guessing. It might be M10x1.25. It's one of those two. I will confirm later.
The more I watch this the more I find myself entertained.. Busch Light Matters..lol.. My bobcat 873 has the Deutz 2011, I dont know how it compares to the Kubota but the deutz is an interference engine with a timing belt, being a 7k engine this makes me ponder German engineering, is the Kubota the same?
Hey Dirk. They are very different engines. If I am up to speed on that engine, it is oil cooled vs conventional liquid coolant. The Kubota is Liquid cooled. The other thing that you pointed out correctly is there is a timing belt on the Deutz which needs to be maintained properly to reduce chances of catastrophic failure if the belt fails. The Kubota is all gear driven timing so in theory should last the lifetime of the engine. To comment on the below, they engine was still breaking in so compression is slightly lower as the rings wear in so glow plugs are needed. Also, these engines are indirect injection so there is a pre combustion chamber that the fuel is injected this. This does cause some cold start problems where you need to use glow plugs even when it is only 32degrees. I know on the Direct injection they usually start up much faster in cold. I am not sure if your engine is direct or indirect. Thanks for watching! More videos to come.
start fluid ETER kill your rings
What size bolts did you use to mount the engine to the engine stand on the side

LMAO. how cold is it in your garage? I thought glow plugs were for -20 ?
