Thanks for the video! I just fixed/soldered my LUCI with similar problem - a kid ran into our lights. I was using flat head screwdriver to pry open the “bean” but your idea to use the knife worked better!
It is, in fact, possible. Not sure newest models but mine has a LIR18650 battery. 2k mAh, 3.7v and 7.4Wh. To tear it down you need to unscrew 5 bolts beneath where the cord goes entangled. It's kinda tedious but not hard to accomplish.
I'm not sure! Take a look at the circuit board and see if it has 3 wires going in the other side. Maybe you'll need to trim the insulation back a little bit to find the 3rd one. Or maybe it's a different model. I'm not sure why there are 3 wires my lights honestly.
@@andrewpenn7618 I am trying to fix mine as well. But it only has two wires. My wire got cut. but then i put the wires back together the light doesn't work. Any tips?
I really need your help to fox my detached solar lights to solar panel. The video showed little because either your hand was in the way or you weren't in the frame. What type of glue.

Our cat decided to chew ours. Thank you for posting. I’ll give it a try!
Thanks for the post! Just repaired mine
To all, note that the « new » model ( no usb plug at the end of the string) has only 2 wires
@Steve Van Pelt Would love to see the inside of the luci string lights getting a replacement battery. Do you think it’s possible??

I broke mine this weekend, but it looks like they only have two wires (copper and red) - am I missing something?

@@stevevanpelt4475 thanks Steve. It looks like your circuit board had 3 terminals, and the one I have only has 2...
@@terrancenasafotiesr.9601 thanks! I was able to get a friend with a soldering iron to help me fix it. Going camping this weekend to test it out!

@Thomas Robertson hmm, did you flip the polarity?
