If you are DIY its cheap enough to replace all three... Belt, Tension pulley and idler pulley. Because when one goes the other usually follows. Keep your old belt in trunk as a backup. Having a spare serpentine belt is as important as a spare tire!
What if the sound is only there while driving? At speeds above about 50 there is a chirping sound coming from the engine. Im assuming its a belt or chain? But cant produce sound under any other circumstance
I changed my alternator battery and starter now My car won't start with the belt on but without it it's running perfect when I try to start with the belt the belt jerks back and will not start
I have noise coming from the power steering pulley. I sprayed water directly on the pulley grooves and the noise disappears for about 10 seconds then comes back. Is that a sign of a worn belt? Edit: 03 Accord EX V6
My 07 cadillac dts makes a squealing sound from the belt when i start it i sprayed some belt stuff and it goes away while I'm spraying but comes back is it the serpentine belt your saying??
Sounds like it, most of the Time if you have your car running and it makes a squealing noise you can spray water on the belt, if it stops squealing it’s the Serpentine belt. if it doesn’t it’s the tensioner

I just about to throw mine away thanks
You have to Wiggle the pulley With The Serpentine belt off First in Order to see if its a Bad pulley
Hi what kind of car was that in the video that you were using as an example

The serpentine belt most likely needs to be tighten

Not sure if you fixed it but sounds like the belt was put on wrong

Most likely worn belt
@@Top5AutoRepairs I looked closer at the belt and the edge looks frayed. I can see the metal composite that makes the inside of the belt

Lmao I just finished watching didn’t realize he said it
What was the solution to your problem. Was it just the belt or were the idler or tension pulley also bad?
@@misterdinkly yeah the pulley and the power steering pump
Every time I turn on the AC I get a flashing check engine. Could the serpentine belt be responsible?
GET AN obd SCANNER and scan for code
Can that cause a shake at idle ?
Also wondering this, my 17' Forester is really rough at idle but just got a new belt
