I'll be the one guy... thought video was helpful. No need to slow down. Slow people can just pause it or go back. Really like the walk through. Specially with engine noise. Helps alot. Keep up with the videos. The third time I've come across yours. Thanks again
I unscrewed the bolt holding the idler pulley to the belt tensioner... and the idler pulley is still on there?! I cant get it off at all. Can some idler pulleys be pressed on the belt tensioner. It's a dayco 89356.
That's funny. My husband tells me to talk slower, and only share relative information if we're working on the car... 🤣😂🤣😂 us darn wives, always causin' havock
Sounds like you need a pulley or tensioner. If the pulley is wobbling, then the bearing is most likely bad. If the belt is bouncing, then it's a faulty tension spring.
@@4DIYers thanks the belt is not wobbling but when I put ac and headlights and heaters on putting load on I can see the tensioner vibrating a little but when I turn everything off the tensioner is normal
Some new bearings do have a small amount of play, it's intended for expansion during operation as it'll warm up. Just make sure it's not a cheap bearing though, that maybe an indication of poor tolerances during production.
I have a 06 Nissan. Frontier xe manual. I have a loud vibration noise while accelerating. But goes away once in neutral or not giving gas. Mine has tensioner pulley. I changed my drive shaft support bearing and u joints thinking that was the problem and it's still doing it. I had a guy listen to the noise while I gave it gas. But it takes longer to make the noise while revving it in neutral. He said it is the tensioner. I replaced just the bearing and not the whole assembly. Well it's still making the noise. Could the other portion of the tensioner be the cause of the loud vibration? I did just the bearing because it cost $17 compared to the assembly $72. I'm sick of dumping money I dont have in this truck. This has been the most problematic vehicle I've ever owned. I cant afford a mechanic or a new truck. The support bearing was bad and needed to be changed anyway(lots of slop) so I'm trying to look at the cup half full. Thanks and hopefully you will respond!
i have a 2001 dodge stratus2.7 & the ac pulley gets to hot & burns up the belts can you tell my if i need to change the pulley or only the ac clutch tanks.
I was driving home on M1 it was a got day my aircon stopped cooling , and there was a loud strange noise from the front of my car I'm going to change the idler pulley
Exactly I was thinking the same thing I guess he's on a time schedule so but damn can we learn how to do wat we are looking at the video for I did not hear nothing in that whole 10sec Mechanic video
Can someone help my idler pulley seized causing the entire belt to come off, put on a new pulley it did the same thing I only replaced the idler pulley what should I be looking for thanks
When you have your belt off check all the other pulleys on all the other belt driven accessories, alternator, A/C , etc. Maybe something else is going and causing bearing to fail.
You do an awful lot of stuff on your car! lol. Hopefully your vehicle doesn't actually need all of these repairs. I do not get to watch all the videos but I appreciate them! Keep up the good work!
Kalvin D Thank you for the support and compliment! I normally put a fair amount of mileage on my vehicle and when I purchased it, some stuff was neglected on it unfortunately. So I'm slowly bringing the car up to date.
i had a rattling noise coming out of my engine when my car was stationary. I replaced cambelt, water pump and tensioner. The noise is gone and my engine sounds bit more smooth. got charged £425 for it. hope it is worth it.
Great video. I purchased a sienna and I hear a soundby the belt. I thought it was a water pump which hopefully it is not. When I press gas the noise comes up and when I release it theasy sound goes off. So I put 2w oil on the 2 pulley tensioner and the regular pulley and the sound minimized. So I believe it is a tensioner pulley that is worn and dry. Thanks again for the video. Helped me a lot.
Thanks!, this helped me to know that my idler pulley for the a/c was super worn out lol, a lot of grinding and stoping just after a second of spinning.
My 2015 durango 3.6 making a ticking noise, I had a misfire on the 5th spark plug, changed that the code went away, but the light ticking remained, I nkticed the idler is wobbling. Going to change it out tomorrow with the other 5 plugs to see if the miss goes away. Any suggestions would be helpful. It has oil and have been taken well care of...
Yeah I don't know y so many people are complaining, when I watched this vid I was thinkin "man I wish this guy could talk faster"...Lol!!,....JK @4DIYers, but it was a good video I just had to watch it a couple of times to make sure I was getting all the info I needed,... it wud b nice if u could slow down though I think alot of people would appreciate it,...I was thinkin, "man is this guy's battery goin dead maybe or is he getting charged by the minute"🤔🤔😂😉,...JK @4DIYers on a serious note Thanks for the video and info I Appreciate It!📽👍🗣⏳⌛👂⏱⏰🗣💨👂👐🖐🖑🚦🖓😉

Thank you so much for the feedback, greatly appreciated :)
Thank you for talking fast!! Makes everything a lot easier on the DIY side of things. Especially if your not sure if your watching the right video.
Glad to help out and thank you!
Not sarcastic. Talking fast
is time saving. Doesn't make the video too long.
i didnt hear him breathe.. possibly a telemarketer?
Didymos was uggg. Kmnm mmmm m
Thank you for this. Should there be any "play" in the tensioner pulley in a 2015 Subaru Forester (2.5L engine)?
Is it new or used?
I unscrewed the bolt holding the idler pulley to the belt tensioner... and the idler pulley is still on there?! I cant get it off at all. Can some idler pulleys be pressed on the belt tensioner. It's a dayco 89356.
When my car start, the serpentine belt does not spin at all. Is the tensioner seized or something, I need some answers.
If only my wife would talk this fast....
Then she would talk twice as long.😵
Hahaha 🤣🤩

Hi my tensioner is wobbling slightly can this cause engine vibration . The tensioner wobbles more when i put lights heater blowers a/c etc on thanks

Would one of these systems produce a heavy grinding noise?
Yes no lubricant in the bearings will cause metal on metal and grinding
I put new idler pulley on and after two weeks my belt came back off and noticed my pulley was titled what would cause this happen wen just fixed it
My new belt keeps falling off when I turn in my car. I dk if it's the tensioner or the idler pulley.
Make sure the pulleys are aligned properly.
Can this cause truck to shake at stop light....rough idle????
Nope
Can a bad idler tensioner pulley affect the steering somehow being that the serpentine belt is connected to all that
8 months later... It's possible but probably not very likely. I dunno. I'm not an expert. 🎉
After tensioner is replaced is it going to have some play or did I put it on wrong?

great video. most helpful. most videos are horrible in detail and drag on. you r to the point.
Thank you for the feedback :)
Are you an auctioneer/ mechanic?
Hey No Beer,.....he's an auctioneer for new idler pulleys. Let's be glad he's not one of those Air Traffic Controllers.😂
Exactly I was thinking the same thing I guess he's on a time schedule so but damn can we learn how to do wat we are looking at the video for I did not hear nothing in that whole 10sec Mechanic video
Did your lights flicker when the pulley was failing?
Only if the belt were slipping.
4DIYers my car is a 2002 Honda CR-V. Right now everything with a light bulb is flickering when the engine is on. I don't know what it is.
I have a rattle sound coming from pulley area. goes away when I turn ON the a.c.?
Same what was it
Should a new idler pulley bearing have play (wobble or rocking) right out of the box?
I have noticed some to have slight play, typically that shouldn't happen with a bearing. I have noticed this with some high quality bearing brands.
This is a Koyo bearing. Waiting for rep to call me back. Received with broken security seal on box.
What did you find out???
Rep said some play is normal and necessary.
After a little reading, apparently it is needed www.astbearings.com/ball-bearings-radial-play.html

my tension pulley is bad,,there sayn not to rush to replace it,,,but the squeeky noise is annoying

Hey put new timing chain's and oil pump still rattles on start up when cold????
Did you replace the tensioner?
don't know why you're all complaining just put the video speed on 0.75 lol , good video though
Haha, awesome tip! I actually use the video speed feature quite a bit. Thank you :)

Nice simple 1 plus 1 equals 2 explanation thanku
Thank you!
Wow this guy can talks fast. Oddly enough I can still understand every word.
Awesome to hear! I'm definitely not one to waste time.
Very informative and to the point. Thank you.

@@ryanmendezz1524 a couple months sadly, the bolt finally came out with the pulley and sounded horrible.
Happen to me as well my tensioner pulley got loud and cease and serpentine belt came off
This sound like a radio ad but it’s greT
My car's engine makes a profound clicking noise on the right side of the engine....is that caused by one of those pulleys?!
Could be from a failing pulley, damaged pulley, or missing piece out of the belt.
