I guess the effectiveness of the JDAM is largely going to be dependent if the Ukrainians can fly high and close, we haven’t really been seeing this at all due to the prevalence of effective Russian longe range anti air. I don’t think they will make a huge difference unless Ukraine can get air superiority.
They dont have to fly high and close to use JDAM. like he said he fly low and fast then pop up and THROW the JDAM like a mortar shell then hit the deck on the way out. Yes you will have to get close but the damage it will do will help with follow up strikes.
You clearly have never heard of loft attack bombing. Fly nap of the earth at full speed, then pull up and the bombs release, then the aircraft heads back down to low level ASAP

It's not a valid argument to state that the Kinzhal (modified SS-26) is not operational in large numbers BECAUSE it's only been deployed operationally in small numbers. It could be that now it's been proven under operational conditions, those munitions are being held back for higher priority NATO targets should the war escalate. Don't kill a mosquito with a cannon, don't crack a walnut with a sledgehammer. Also, it's hard to see how JDAM will be a game changer if the aircraft carrying them fly from airfields within range of Russian stand-off weapons.
We’re talking about the Russians here, who no longer have access to western made chips which a lot of modern weapons rely on, and had to resort to stripping chips out of washing machines etc in the hope they could use them in their weapons. They’ve also had to repurpose old nuclear tipped anti ship missiles as land attack missiles because they’re running out of more modern stuff. If Russia had Kinzhal in large numbers they’d be using them in Ukraine. They don’t and they aren’t.

No, JDAM's are used to convert unguided 'dumb' gravity bombs into precision guidance munitions that can strike ground targets very accurately. They're not used in air-to-air combat against MiGs.
It's a bolt on kit that turns a dumb bomb into a PGM. And can be tossed from low altitude in a ballistic arc and land within a few meters of a target already programmed into the guidance system. It's going mean a really bad day for many Russians within a few kilometers of the front line.
Actually the a12 a sister of the blackbird was the fighter version of the blackbird and the Phoenix missile was originally made for this plane...it was faster than the blackbird but had the same short comings and wasn't agile enough to be considered as a fighter and needed 20-30 miles to turn around for follow up attack! That estimate could be wrong but it did need a lot of space to turn cause the " archangel" A12 had some of the blackbird flight characteristics of the blackbird as far as turning radius'.....

The missile is a long range fire-and-forget, and according to the Royal United Services Institute, most of the russian kills against Ukrainian aircraft has been accredited to the missile. Given that there are hundreds of MiG-31's in service, and only one has been reported to be destroyed (in combat, that is), I'd say that's a pretty good track record. Also, it can out-fly the missiles a lot of the missiles that the Ukrainian air-force uses. R-60 (soviet), R-73 (soviet), is just barely out-sped by the AGM-88 (lend-lease from the States) as the MiG-31's top speed is Mach 2.8 whilst the AGM-88's top is Mach 2.9 you can probably guess it is going to be easy to outmanoeuvre, and it can also outrun the FIM-92 Stinger. Seems just fine to me. Especially when most of the aircraft it's going against is older than itself.

Not really, or not at all. Deploying S-400 will eliminate pretty much any air fighter in the air space. There's really no way around it making anything sitting ducks, therefore even the f-22 will be planted.

"Vulcan bomber" can do similar things as this can do, but UK retired it, & Russia keep Upgrading it.
