Truly a great priory. From personal experience there is no problem too big that it can't be helped by a chat with Dom Benedict over a pot of tea. They have helped both my daughter and myself so much since we moved nearby and met them. May God Bless Them All. Deo Gratias.
Did you make it? Hope you wrote to them and they accepted. In Europe many of the.monks are getting old so they are keen to hand the monasteries to younger chaps.
Hello Fr Mark, this is your neighbor when you lived in Tulsa, I used to come to your home for Mass with my Grandson Grady , His Birthday was same as your fathers. Time passes quickly He is now 12 yrs old. Just watching movie about St Charbel thinking on you, prayers with you 💞🙏Kathie J

i am an atheist but this way of life looks interesting, because everything is so lean towards mental processes and the meditation about the reality and the nature of the existence, finding a life with purpose and also away from the regular world, to be honest i love this kind of videos, it is indeed an interesting way of life.
Juan, it is indeed a beautiful way of life. Perhaps there is a call to this life for you. There have been others like yourself who felt the attraction-Thomas Merton, atheist truned Trappist monk, wrote about it in his autobiography The Seven Storey Mountain. Fr. Lazarus el Anthony, former atheist and philosophy professor from Australia (beautiful video about him called The Last Anchorite, and another Desert Foreigners), heard the call and lives on a mountain in Egypt. Don't be afraid.
I find places for God' own beautiful. The pillar and sacrifice are .... wow. And congratulations to the new arrivals, may their journeys be filled with love of our Lord, and with no look back to the world outside the gates.

I was a Benedictine monk but my community was of diocesan right and it was closed, I am thinking of returning to the monastery, how can I do an experience in your monastery? I'm from Brazil, thank you.
I saw one of the priests and thought, "He reminds me of Ben Anderson from my Orthodox blogging days years ago" but then I thought that couldn't be right as my memory was that Ben was Orthodox and American. Then the priest spoke and out of his mouth came an American accent. Is this Ben, having been transplanted across the ocean? If so, it seems that he is happy and settled in his new home, for which may God be praised.

@MCMA-up5nc may all be blessed.incl your son. I think some frown on the Benedictans because they are the original monastic order after St. Basil's order. In some countries I saw Mass is Latin Mass following the pre 1962 format. Priest back to the Congregation. But I feel their chanting is second to none and when I hear I feel a calmness that I am in heaven.
They have a website, Silver stream. Type it in and you're looking for the priory in Co. Meath. The contact details are there, the guest master is the young Australian lad seen here in white shirt and trousers. They are my local priory. Good luck.
I apologize in advance, as I'm not trying to offend anyone, but are these individuals basically theological academics? They speak like university professors and act as though they are researching a thesis. Much respect for them, but as someone who's not religious I'm just curious as to what drove them to Ireland as none of them seem to be Irish. I hear what they're saying, but I'm just seeking a deeper understanding.
