it was really interesting to hear the meaning of this song! my interpretation was totally different for some reason. it felt like it was the thoughts of someone who doesn't really want to be at a party because they're anxious but they feel like they have to stay there: "take a look at the clock only so long to go..." and then the line "all you will need (...) people who don't give a damn" gave the impression that this person feels like they're surrounded by people who are just not genuine. overall i got a feeling of someone watching a party float by but not feeling very connected to it - they're watching, but not a part of it. i think i thought of the song in this way because that's how i've felt during the few parties i've been to. i love this song so much
