- The Pioneer CDJ400 multi media DJ player is a very universal DJ CD player that can also act as MIDI controller for computer software. The CDJ-400 also has USB connectivity so you can play MP3 music from any USB storage device. (no rekordbox yet).

Well actually, the 400 is like a 1000 but just smaller and maybe 2 or 3 buttons less. But it is for sure better than the 800
THIS CDJ IS ONE OF THE BEST IN 2017 STILL !! SOME FX ARE MISSING IN THE NEW MODELS !! THIS CDJ 400 IS EPIC !!
Mike Panos - I still use mine. To be honest, I don't synch or have rekordbox so when I play on nexus 2000 I only use the cue and play buttons plus pitch slider so doesn't really feel that different to me as I am into oldskool mixing lol

That not a lot of money. But realise that the cdj-400 is a great deck but it is a bit dated when compared to modern player. But it is a great deck.

I love seeing all the old comments when this was the "it" CDJ. Maaan Pioneer has come a long way along with other DJ companies
i hate the new controllers and software thats sold with them they should work without a computer they suck apart from the higher end models with it built in pisses me off
Ddj products are controllers that need a computer to work.
Xdj products are stand alone units that do not need a computer to work.
Pioneer dj makes different products for different use.
@@DJResourceTV yh but there both a way to manipulate a wav/mp3 with a sync button so there's not much difference and it's possible with most cdjs to use in rekordbox
Il miglior lettore mai creato! Il giusto compromesso con tutte le tecnologie che servono ma che mantiene un minimo di lavoro al DJ.. Portabile e bello, sinceramente dal 2000 nexus in poi secondo me siamo andati veramente troppo oltre. Ormai non è più una professione è uno show-case ed il missaggio già facilitato da questi apparecchi è ormai una feature alla portata di troppi..
@dance music memories, thanks, CDJ-400 indeed is a great unit that has all the stuff a DJ need. Yes, there are more features nowadays, but fortunatly DJ is still an artform ;)

Nope, no waveform display, the CDJ-400 came onto the market a long time before waveform display was a common thing ;)

5:24 That's why i love the old CDJ 100, 200 and 400 ! Forgett the other overpriced models. As long they cant the Jet Effect there are worthless ! And if some overpriced model can the Jet effect, it cost way to much !
@SeanCambo Oh yeah I guess it's not all bad then. I don't know. I played with these at Guitar Center this week and they felt very cheap to me. I know they probably get abused badly at stores but still. Everything was all lose and the plastic felt cheap. Why can't the 2000s be more affordable! It's too bad. I might just buy a laptop and Serato instead.
@Kjp633 Where can you find these for $500? A lot of online shops are still selling them for $700. Some $600. It sucks the prices for Pioneer never seem to go down!

i had 2 years ago but sold them because my cousin used rip on digital djs fast forward today he has a controller now i rip on him .. but i loved them cdj400s
the difference is the 400 jog platter is not sensitive like the 800 or 1000,it is like a button,u got to push the platter down to start scratching & up to release the track, wich is not very pro, but the other features are amazing for a new little player..pioneer is the leader.
I know the tune is fedde le grande vs ida corre, let me think about it, but i would love to know who has remixed it? Its not the original. Many thanks:-)

- Hold down the auto cue feature at the top left of the CDJ until the 'auto cue' illumination disappears on the display then it will play through each song. :)
I just got this from a 2nd hand shop in Tokyo. Eager to get back to DJing and did not have any hardware here. thanks!

Eigenlijk voor budget DJ's en het aanbod aan 2e hands CDJ400 is dit nog steeds prima speler! Ik mis CD draaien wel, dus in combinatie met Traktor HID is dit best interessante optie. Heb de DDJ-SP1 er ook nog bij. Even afwachten op een mooie Marktplaats aanbieding inclusief mixer :P
De DJS software is wel enorm geinig terug te zien :')

Olá galera ! Desculpe falar por aqui mais olha so eu tenho Dessas CDj 400 a pronta entrega para Brasilia,,,valor R$1.650 avista consulte para outras cidades.
These are great I use these in the bar I play in. Love the usb/memory stick playback and the loop effects. Only thing for me which is lacking is the wave read out on the LCD display. This makes it easier to find the cue/mix in points on the out going track. I am not sure that they are as tight in the mix as cdj 1000s but are still great little decks and a lot lighter and smaller to carry around than the 1000's.

It is red light (not yellow), it might look a bit yellow as it was recorded with an old camera. But the illumination around the Jog Wheels is red.

The software I use in this video was Pioneer's first ever dj software. It was not really intuitive to work with but it did the job.

i dont get where you start? how do you get into this stuff? im 16 and ive been watching DJ videos on youtube for idk, about 6 months (just in my spare time... not religiously) and i was just wondering, where do you start?? it seems very complicated (not to mention, expensive) but extremley funn
man my problem is : a real dj sometimes it should be on tempo ,that means somethimes u should push the butons very hard and very quicklly , i suppose that cdj 400 wouldn t live so much if u treat them agresiv !!! suckers!!!1
Hello sir, I believe you, just keep spreading the word. It's about experience unless you deal with Dj products like yourself people don't know shit. Looks don't count for shit it's about what's inside. Good News: I sold my CDJ's on Ebay!!
well in a sense it is true.... its like taking pioneer vs denon as compaq vs IBM.... just copy and industry standard.. but the reason top djs use pioneer is because they dont need all the high tech features that todays cdj's offer.... its like saying why do they dj with vinyl turntables at trance energy? for skill, to show that only they can do it.... unfortunately tiesto uses auto synch...
yo cant beleive they r 600 quid each,, just of vinyl, got a mac book pro, traktor pro, quality midi controller, still got change,, lap top the way forward,, shizzle............
I haves asked many other guys and everybody suggest differt:S one said denon. Another said def. the pioneer. but i know pioneer isnt the same as few years ago they MADE IN MALAYSIA now:(

@Kjp633 Talk to the dealers, u can get a better price. Don't take the list price for granted. You can get em for 500.

If i buy (ONE DECK) right now is it just like a turntable u just plug it into an amp and you can automatically start messing around and scratching? or do you gotta have other stuff...

@SuperErin21 700 quid for th 2 Pioneer CDJ400s and then bought a Behringer VMX 200 for 35 quid off ebay (BARGAIN)
I bought these babies around 6 months ago and love them, only thing is the Pioneer DJS software (around £109) is not that responsive to the cdj's, and running anything else like Traktor on Vista seems to have bugs. Anyone any ideas what the best software for the 400's are ? I just love the visual when djing along with the hardware. cheers
@Granny2793 you need a mixer to play it from, plus if you want to mix songs together, you need 2 of these

Hi, i've got cdj 400s and was wondering if anybody knows how to set it so that you can play an album from start to finish, without having to manually cue up the next track??
I'm picking this up as soon as i get the cash, i checked one out at guitar center it was so amazing. But then again what do i know I'm just starting out. I just love the features it has, it's basically everything i want. :D

Zapytajsie Nieznany I don't think that will work..you could hook it up with audio and play mp3 with it that way.

@audio Impact official Probably you are trying to play back tracks of unsupported format or use a USB drive that is not FAT32 formatted. Check the file format if it is within the specifications (bitrate and such). Also sometime just formatting the USB again and putting the tracks back to it helps.

How big of a flash drive will the cdj 400 support?
The CDJ-400 supports FAT and FAT32 formatted devices so maximum size of a usb flash drive is 32GB.
