    Good video, regardless of what choice of scooter, they are great for many difference pragmatic reasons. Great in traffic on a hot day, good storage, no chain/chain tension maintenance, good fuel eco and a more relaxed ride. I love jumping on my forza, motorcycles are more engaging to ride for sure, but sometimes you just want to soak in the surroundings or run some errands.

      Well said! like i said in the clip forza 350 would outdo it easy as in my tesring around 18 months back when i bought the xmax 300 and forza 350- the forza easily outbraked and out powered the xmax.
      just let down by the rear shocks on rough roads.
      ive been told ealier vespa gts 300 had pretty bad suspension too. thats why i waited for this improved version.
      but say the rider had no back issies...lol forza 350 would be hard to beat value wise.and in performance and braking alone its very hard to beat

    Trust me, dude...they don't give away Vespas anywhere! My 2024 GTS 300 "Classic" will be delivered to me tomorrow, and she's the "entry level" GTS. Out the door, she was just over $10K (U.S.) with two accessories (fly screen & rear rack) and two slight mods (brake light modulator & reflector delete). Worth every cent! She's my third Vespa -- a 7-year gap from my last one -- and I cannot wait! Enjoy yours, sir...they're GREAT scoots!

    Hi Warro, nice clip and thanks for posting. Keep 'em coming occasionally!
    Your initial clips on the Vespa piqued my curiosity, to the point where I did a lot of research, and eventually bought one (even tho never having ridden a scoot before). I endorse your comments after 100km on mine, but:
    1. I would have loved the 300, but it's 40kg heavier than the modern 150 models.
    2. It is also watercooled vs aircooled, and it has dual radiators and associated plumbing buried deep in the bodywork upfront. Goodness knows how hard it would be to fix a cooling issue.
    3. To remove the back wheel, not only do you have to remove the exhaust first (like the 150s), but you also have to dismantle one side of the swing arm (150 is single-sided). Go figure.
    4. Belt is $180 for the 300 vs $60 (change every 10K).
    Pricewise, I was determined to buy used. But I couldn't find any low km recent 150 models under about 7K, and I wanted the largest wheels (12") so eventually I went for a brand new 2021 Sprint for 8K ride away no more to pay.
    Initially brakes were woeful, but started to pick up after 50kms. Now they are fine, if a bit sudden.
    Economy is important not so much for the cost, but so you don't have to keep popping in to servos! Mine doesn't "moan" but it's damn near impossible to fill without fuel splashing out the top. And the tank is only 7 litres... Economy is about 35 km per litre so far.
    Performance on the 150: great up to 60kmh, then tapers off to 90 kmh. 100 is achievable, but not for cruising.
    Service: refilling the reduction gearbox required a syringe! To refill the engine oil I used a handpump designed to fill outboard motor gearboxes, pumping a pre-measured quantity in.
    All in all, a lot of fun, and brilliant for shopping. I bought a cheap 30 litre Givi top box, and a genuine Vespa non-folding rack for $60, to augment the carrying capacity. Atm it is my ride of choice.

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      gee ...you know more about them than me...lol id say for city running the 150 would be fine as ive read the pickup is ok.
      i really had no choice as the enfield 350's battle on handling the local hills so i knew i'd have to go 300 or zero.
      good price on the sprint too. better to buy new regardless.
      when i bought the new xmax 300 and forza 350 i clocked 1000 klm on each for the road tests and flogged the crap out of them...lol i knew i was going to lose several thousand $$$ on the testing of both scooters and in a way the return views from youtube were pathetic so very sorry in a way i bought them.
      i must admit that filling the tank is a challenge indeed. i too have squirted gas in the inside. best idea is to pull the pet carries -fill the tank and put liner back in. any spilt petrol goes on the ground...lol better there than in the basket
      on the moaning side i will have to record mine. forgot on this clip but its pretty annoying...lol
      later on i might put some slime in my tyres. worked very well on the enfields so i think i will do that again.
      great to hear your enjoying the vespa experience.
      ive dropped back showing certain bikes and main reson the ones who sub and dont like -unscribe...lol

    • @andrewgreen6060
      @andrewgreen6060 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gee I'm no Vespa expert but I now know a little more than I did before I bought it. I watched a lot of repair and maintenance clips from the excellent YT site Vespa Motorsports, mainly to make sure I could maintain the scoot if I bought one (and that I could be bothered!). That separated the 300 from the 150 for me. I didn't expect any help from the local dealer, although to be fair, I can now order parts down the street, which is very handy. There's even a clip on filling the Vespa fuel tank, showing the pet carrier raised (propped up with the filler cap). But that means fuel spilling on the hot engine, plus the possibility of dropping the cap in there somewhere...! I dunno...paper towel around the filler maybe.
      Here's an idea for a Vespa clip sometime: show us some footage of riding the scoot in the twisties! (There's no twisties anywhere near me)! Could be fun...

      I was given a short screen with mine. I fitted it but found it was very noisy with my full face helmet closed (Shoei with flip up front). Yet with the helmet open it was OK. So I removed it, as the Vespa is very quiet without the screen, to the point where I don't use earplugs as I would with a bike. Could be OK with open face helmet.

      @andrewgreen6060 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ridewithwarro I have looked at other Vespas and I think you can use either rack, but I saw somewhere that weight capacity is less for folding rack (not sure). Anyway I bought genuine Vespa solid rack as it was only $60. I fitted Givi 30 litre topbox which cost $125. You might be better off with 37 litre size, but that looked too big on my scoot which is smaller and narrower than 300 scoot. Downside of Givi is that the cover rattles (no rattles at all without Givi). I suppose I could do something about that...!
      Incidentally, I hummed and haahed about this, but in the end I changed O & F at 200 km, partly because my scoot was made in Vietnam. Conclusion: worthwhile as there was a bit of sediment.

    I test rode a Vespa 300 at a BMW dealer that sold them (and still does) about 5 years ago. I liked the looks of the scooter and managed to get it up to an indicated 80 mph on the freeway, but handling at high speeds didn't seem as stable as a motorcycle. Plus, Piagio wanted about 30% more for a Vespa than one of their own scooter brands with larger wheels and the same engine. Those scooters handle better due to the larger wheels, but just don't look as cute. However, you hardly ever see any scooters on the highway around here as they seem to be bought mostly by students (with wealthy parents) attending Stanford University for local transportation.

    • @richardharmon5682
      @richardharmon5682 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      BTW, I started my two-wheel riding career on a new ($300) 1962 Vespa 125. Even at my age of 18, that was a scary vehicle. It had 8" diameter wheels and no noticeable suspension damping. Riding around bumpy corners was no fun and I crashed the scooter several times around hairpin mountain turns. Top speed was 55 mph downhill or being drafted behind a semi-truck on the freeway. After owning one more scooter, a 1963 Lambretta 150, I transitioned to riding motorcycles and never looked back.

    Dear Warren,
    Greetings from England. Many thanks for taking the time to make and upload your videos - I really enjoy watching them.
    Perhaps you could help me? I'm seriously considering buying a brand new Vespa 300 GTS Super, but, if I do go ahead with the purchase, I would want to take my scooter over to the Continent, and do some touring around France, Germany, Italy, and perhaps as far afield as Poland.
    It goes without saying that I would need to spend quite a lot of time travelling at high speeds along the highways/motorways,/autobahns, and I'm just wondering whether the 300 HPE engine would cope with 70mph - ish cruising, for four and five hours at a time?
    What do you think? I know that you mentioned that in your personal experience, 100kph was no problems at all (I think that's around 62mph), but I'll be needing to do around 112kph for extended periods of time.
    I've looked at the other option (for example, the Forza 350, and the Xmax 300), but I just love the Vespa.....and would want to keep it.
    Any advice your can give me would be much appreciated, and, once again, many thanks for your time.
    Warmest regards,
    Neil. 🙂

      lets see ive owned all those scooters new so tests in my history if you have not seen them already.
      forza 350 is easily the powerhouse and can do an easy 150 kph and cruise at 130 kph
      yamaha next and it too would easy cruise at 120 kph
      now the vespa. i had mine out yesterday and in strong hadwinds ran 100 kph easy. my thoughts it too would cruise at 110 kph without issues.
      not sure how far your travelling but say i want to cross australia one way -4500 to 5000 klm -which bike after owning all 3
      if i rode the honda or xmax i just ride across australia. if i went on the vespa i ride across australia too BUT not only that i go on a feel good happy style of ride which the other two can't match as they lack character.
      they may be better scooters -personal choice but i'd either go vespa or stay home...lol
      in the end you either want to ride a few countries or you want the feel good experience that memerios will stay with you forever.
      believe me you'll feel much better riding the vespa and more importantly dont forget cameras etc to record your trip.
