    PAINTING MEDIUMS FOR OIL PAINTING
Galkyd gel medium - speeds up drying time - amzn.to/2R9uDEW
Galkyd lite gel - leave brush strokes visible for cool effects amzn.to/2RN4qeL
Liquin Lite gel - Windsor Newton for applying very lite coats of paint and building layers. Speeds up drying a lot too amzn.to/2vap68R
Gamblin solvent free gel medium - use this if you’re sensitive to smell - it’s odorless and you can use it as a medium like galkyd or liquin - it’ll also speed up drying time amzn.to/2G4QzuC
    MARK MAKING TOOLS
R & F pigment sticks, gorgeous highly pigmented color for mark making or painting amzn.to/2G9MZiQ
Graphite water soluble crayons, great for making marks amzn.to/2tCZJfa
    MUST HAVE SUPPLIES
Richeson Gray Paper Palette, has a color wheel on the back amzn.to/38rjbKB
Scott Shop blue towels - super absorbent, great for wiping paint on the canvas or cleaning tools. I use so many of these, I buy them in bulk amzn.to/2RGmI0P

Hey Andrea, many thanks for sharing your process. I enjoy the process as much as I enjoy the result. Frankly I'd have been happy to hang this canvas on my wall during any stage of it's creation. Beautiful work. Greetings from Scotland 👍

I love your videos! I’m so happy I found you. Yesterday I went to the Texas Art Supply and bought a few of your suggestions for this technique. Medium, which I have admired for years. I hope to get to work with you in an actual class one day. You are phenomenal! Thank you for all your teaching here on YT! ❤️🤗

Thank you so much for such a lovely and generous comment ! I won't be teaching a class for a while but I do one on one classes if that seemed like it might help in the next few months.

I am enjoying your advanced tutorial style , so refreshing and inspirational. Please keep posting , an invaluable antidote for the art slumps - the cold wax paintings are fabulous . Thanks Andrea !

Oh I love that comment. Thank you. Glad, VERY GLAD to know that this might be helping you up and over the art slump. Do you mean blocked ? As in not being able to paint at all ? Or stuck on a piece ? Or deep in the throws of self-doubt ? All that stuff comes with the territory when you're a creative...

I'm really enjoying your videos.....learning, learning, learning. Question though....is it possible to paint over acrylic....and ..... can you mix acrylics with the wax medium?

    • @artistspace
      @artistspace  3 ปีที่แล้ว

No you can't mix acrylics with cold wax. You CAN mix oil paint and/or pure pigment with it. And no you definitely don't want to use acrylics over coats of cold wax and oil.

@@artistspace sorry, I think you misunderstood the first part of my question: is it possible to use cold wax OVER the top of acrylics?

    • @artistspace

@@shirleyalmetalennon9410 Aha, yes you can when the acrylic is dry.
